MusicBee Wishlist / Improvements to Album Art functionality

1. The ability to add multiple jpeg files in one go would save a LOT of hassle. That is, to be able to multi-select files when adding to artwork instead of one-at-a-time.

2. Further to above, the last selected options (embed in file, link to file, etc) to be remembered - at the moment the "embed option" is always selected by default regardless of last action.

3. The artwork pop-up window that opens when you double-click the artwork during playback to be resizable AND zoomable - preferably both simultaneously, i.e. the ratio of the window is constrained and the contents auto-resizes to fill frame.

4. Further to above, a back/forward clickable in the pop-up window that allows you to navigate to the next/previous artwork file.

Hi all, before posting these ideas as "feature requests", I'd like to glean any knowledge that anyone has around the subject and whether there are already any solutions / workarounds:

Would love some feedback on the above suggestions - I'm sure I'm not the only one to feel these things would be really useful.

As an aside, much as I'm loathe to stop using MB, does anyone know of another music library app that maybe does do all of the above?

Questions / Identify tracks with "exclude from playback"

Hi all,

I've been using "exclude from playback" as a way to weed out tracks I don't like (discovering a lot of new music at the moment).

My question is: how do I identify these tracks in my library afterwards? For example can it be included in a custom "column" in the MUSIC view.

Basically I would like to periodically review these excluded tracks and make a decision as to whether to delete or keep them.

Questions / Auto-numbering tracks

Hello folks...

I have a fairly lengthy digital album (59 tracks) which I managed to lose the track numbering tags for.

The filenames are actually numbered in the format "Track# - Title", however MusicBee ignores the numbers in the track names for display purposes, and further doesn't seem to want to put them in order of the track numbers either.

I can't seem to find any way to 1. get them in the right order, or 2. auto-number the relevant track# tags in MusicBee.

By contrast, Foobar2000 orders them by tracknumber as per the names of the files and also has a handy "tool" which auto-numbers the tracks.

Can anyone tell me if there's a way I can do this in MusicBee?

Questions / Bitrate checkers

I'd be interested to know what people's experience is of bitrate checker programs and which ones seem to do the best job...

Myself, I have Fakin the Funk, which in general seems pretty accurate although can sometimes bring up false positives.

I just heard mention of Lossless Audio Checker here on the forum so gave that a try.

It doesn't have the same false positives as FTF, but one obvious problem it has is when checking classical music or "quiet" albums such as acoustic & vocal.. all my classical music came out as "upsampled" even though I know for a fact it isn't.

Ultimately, I prefer to trust my ears and can easily pick out a 320 mp3 next to a flac or wav file, although could be (and have been) fooled if all I'm hearing are 320 mp3's

Questions / Applying DSP plugins to specific tracks

Hi all,

I'm very happy to see there is a VST container plugin available... can't wait to try it out.

I notice that under the settings tab for individual tracks there is an option to apply an equalizer setting for that particular track, or tracks.

My question is: is there a way to specify other DSP plugins (in particular the VST host) to be applied on specific tracks?

Questions / Where do artist backgrounds in "Now Playing" come from?

I'm wondering where these pictures are sourced? I don't think it can be directly from Google since some artists in my library have no background pictures displayed even though there are images on Google, and for others, it comes up with pictures that cannot be found on Google.
