Questions / What is the .old file in the patch?
« on: October 17, 2020, 10:20:02 PM »
. . . 3.4, which is very, very stable for a beta. Many of us are using it exclusively at this point.

I was wondering: the file that has the .old extension in the patch index for 3.4, is that the most recent stable version of the beta patches? Or what is that for? I usually download and use the newest patch that's available every day.  If that one acts up, is that what the MusicBee34_Patched.old file is for? Because I notice that file seems to be a few days or a week older than the most recent patch, which means it's not just the 2nd most recent one.

And: am I supposed to be using the most recent patch every day like that, or could that mess something up?

Finally: when would the official version 3.4 download be ready on the main download page? As you said, it seems just as stable as 3.3 at this point.

Thanks all!

Questions / <album duration> tag format
« on: August 01, 2020, 06:45:48 AM »
Is it possible to change the way it shows the <album duration> tag from like this format: hh:mm to this: "1 hour, 34 minutes" ? And if the album duration is only 34 minutes then it only shows "34 minutes" as opposed to "    hour, 34 minutes" or like " 2 hour,     minutes" if the thing is exactly 2 hours long. I was able to find one post about it that seemed like the guy was asking for the same thing here. But none of that helped and the Additional Tagging Tools plugin doesn't do what i'm trying to do. Like i want the words "hour" & "minute" in there. Like how it displays the total album duration time in the Playlists tab using the Album and Tracks view. Like this here. It seems like this should be possible by throwing in a couple of quotation marks in the right place using the right function code but i haven't been able to figure it out.
Thanks again in advance, everybody.

Bug Reports / crash report

MusicBee crashed & so i'm reporting it because i hope it's helpful to someone. Not looking for an answer or anything. i don't know what made it crash. Good day, all.  :)

Here's the error log:

Questions / how to use the sub-grouping header
« on: July 23, 2020, 02:08:43 AM »
Ok, i was looking at this post and can someone please explain to me exactly how to do this? I don't understand where to put what or why & when i try to just copy & paste MusicBee says it "cannot parse". I don't get the Sub-header [variable] thing at all. Do the tagging methods described on this post still valid in current MusicBee? I did notice the post was from 2014. Maybe there's an easier or different way to do this now. Any help?

I started off only really wanting to show the album title next to the disc number under the album drop-down menu. Something like a format of:
Disc 1 • Bastards  / Disc 2 • Brawlers  / Disc  3 • Bawlers
for the Tom Waits album Orphans. I just had this guy's same question which led me to the other post. I've been using Mp3Tag for years now and i already have a field on that called 'Disc Title' and i just wanted that to show up in MusicBee. Now i've been messing with this for at least 4 hours now and am about ready to snap my laptop in frustration.

I would also love to be able to "Break albums into sections as envisaged by the artist" like shown here . Also, how does this guy get some info to appear below the album's artwork  in the pop-up menu like shown here?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
                                                                Thanks in advance, all. 👍
