MusicBee Wishlist / pinning column width + autosize

this request is for the ability to 'pin' a column's width, so when selecting the option to 'auto size in all columns' a specific column could remain at a fixed width, while all others are auto sized.

this applies to the 'tracks' view or any view using detail columns.

would like ability to edit blank square to album cover, artist picture, custom, etc.

something really cool would be an image that fits into the square, which groups all the album cover images into a grid.

Questions / locate in musicbee explorer?

is there a way to select a track; whether it is in the now playing pane, the main libary, or a playlist and go to that artist in the musicbee explorer?  or any kind of shortcut to do that?

in other words, im listening to a track and i want to go that artist in the explorer tab.  can i right-click the track and do that somehow?

Questions / official chromecast plugin

Questions / question about lyrics search

I format my artist tag like so; 'queens of the stone age f/trent reznor', with the featured artist always included in the artist field following the 'f/'.

when using the lyrics panel the lyrics search seems to use this and often comes up empty handed as the format isn't very conducive to the lyrics search.

is there a way to configure the lyrics search to use album artist instead?  that makes more sense to me since artist tags can often use varying formats.

i think the same thing applies to the artist picture search that is used in the artist picture panel.

Would it be possible to add a command for the Musicbee toolbar that would locate the playing track in the Musicbee Library Explorer?   Currently, there is locate playing track at source, in library, and Windows Explorer.  Would be nice to have locate in Library Explorer, as that's the main tab I browse with.

a small visual inconsistency when selecting a track that has a highlight applied, it seems to change in width as it is selected/de-selected.  seems to only affect yellow or  colors with a certain border ?:

Questions / Changing background color of 'Musicbee' main button (top left)

I have been using the 'Dark-Fine Tuned' Crimson.xml as a reference with this element to skin:

<element id="MenuButton.Default" bg="93,7,42" fg="200,200,200" bdr="93,7,42" />

However I implement this code into a skin I'm using, it only colors the actual text of the button (where it says 'Musicbee') and nothing else.  This element also seems to have no effect:

<element id="MenuButton.Border" bg="93,7,42" />

How can I color the background of this button?  I'd like to have default white text and the background color match that of the theme.

Scrolling inside the artists and albums windows under Preferences>Sorting/Grouping/enable custom sort values... does not appear to function.

Questions / How to group different album artists as one

Can someone please explain how to group different album artists as a single album artist?  I can't use the artist tag because I sort by album artist, using the thumbnail explorer and grouped this way in the main panel.

For example, I would like album artist 'Campfire Songs' to be grouped with album artist 'Animal Collective', as that was an early name of the band.  Sorting by this tag simply places it underneath Animal Collective, but I'm trying to group it all as one, not two adjacent, separate groups.

What I want is to see both album artists listed in the main panel when I select Animal Collective from the thumbnail explorer.

Any ideas?

MusicBee Wishlist / Listing built-in Auto DJ / History / Inbox playlists in Playlist Directory panel

In the Navigator panel, the built-in Auto DJ playlist is listed under 'Playlists'.  Shouldn't this then be listed in the Playlist Directory panel as well?  The purpose for me is to have these default playlists listed under the Playlist Directory panel and not needing the Navigator at all as I have it hidden in my set up.

The reason for Auto DJ to be listed in the Playlist Directory panel is apparent; it is already listed in the Navigator under 'Playlists'.  Arguably the default Inbox and History playlists should be listed here as well.

Questions / Updating custom sort values not reflected in thumbnail explorer/column browser

Possible bug or user error?

Both of these were changed to a custom sort value for album artist of 'Clint Mansell' so it would be grouped with all his other albums.

However this change is not being reflected in the thumbnail explorer / column browser.  It still lists three different album artists.  When I went again into the tag editor to double-check, these fields (under the 'Sorting' page) weren't checked even though the status bar states these tags were updated and external tag editors confirm it was.  When I check the custom sort values in the Preferences>Sorting/Grouping page, everything is there (although this is for field 'Artists' so I'm not sure that's relevant).

Checking 'enable custom sorting' makes no difference.  Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug?

MusicBee Wishlist / Display 'LOVE' value in tag editor when 'store ratings in music file' is set

Currently, when a track is marked as rating = Love, viewing the track with the built-in tag editor does not display this rating.

Request is to display a 'Love' rating in tag editor, when ratings are being saved in music file.

When viewing the track with an external tag editor, such as dbpoweramp, this rating is showing as 'LOVE RATING = L'.

Questions / question about highlight system in 'album covers' view

I have a question about the 'show highlighting' option when in 'album covers' view.  I use the application-wide highlighting system, but this seems to be separate from that.  How is this used?  The screenshot shows the application-wide system found in preferences, and the separate highlighting system found in configure layout>main panel>customise panel.  I have highlighting rules set, but when I select 'define rules' under the customise panel for album covers, no rules are defined.
