Questions / Transfer MB From Portable USB Drive to C Drive

David here,  Windows 10 desktop, I've been using MB 3.4 Update 1 for about a year on a USB drive inserted into my W10 DT!  I have it set up perfectly and really put the time and effort into making it look great!  I want to download Update 2 and install on my C Drive, I then want to transfer all the files needed from my USB to the C drive to run the program from the C drive from now on.  I very worried I might mess up a setting and lose my layouts etc.  I won't be using the USB installation any more.  Can someone help me with this?  Much appreciated if possible! David N.

Questions / External HD Getting Bad & Must Move Files to New Internal SSD Drive

I have not used this forum in 6 months but emergency has happened! My external HD (Where I keep all my music files) is going bad and I need to move my music files to a new internal SSD drive I just bought (Windows 10 DT),  Moving the files is easy but will anything happen to all my keywords, genres and comments I've added to the MB database?  I currently have the MB backup file on my "C" drive!  Thanks for any response! Questions / Using Keywords

Having trouble figuring out how to use  Keywords!   I have a couple of Keywords I want to start applying such as "Album Pick" "Grammy" "Record of Year" etc.
When I import an album and go to Edit keywords I enter a keyword and no problem, I can filter on it & search on that word.  However when I import another album and go to enter a keyword, the previous keyword does not appear until you enter the 1st letter of a keyword already used.  I thought a drop down list would appear with all keywords I've used so far so I can pick the one I want to use.  Should I keep a piece of paper with all keywords I've used near me for reference?

General Discussions / New Genre

Newbie David here!  Been checking all my tags for a "Testing" group of about 200 albums I'm using to learn MB!  Decided to add my 1st custom tag called "Type of Artist"! I used the Enumerated Option for Defining New Tags.  Type of Artists would include Female Solo, Male Solo, Female Group, Male Group, Mixed Group.
When I click on that tag to input the data all 4 of these appear with check boxes to click.  Very nice indeed.  Did a "Filter" on that tag and worked great.
Did I use the right name for the description of the new tag?  Throw in some suggestions if you have any!  Tks for reading - DN

Questions / Genres Used for Each Album

What are the average as to how many genres you assign to each album  I'm trying to keep it at 1 per album but sometimes 2?  Just trying to see how others tag their metadata!! Tks, Newbie David

Senior newbie David here.  Downloaded MB yesterday, pulled my hair out for the 1st 2 hours but really starting to settle into the program.  I don't use the player at all and all my files already have tags (Use Tagscan Tagging Software). Questions / Will MusicBee Be Able to Do This?

Newbie David here,
I have about 8,000 music albums, Each album folder is named with Artist – Album (Year)
Example = Elvis Presley – King Creole (1958),  All my albums have ID2 tags and I have
About 40 different genres.
I don’t want to use MusicBee as a player, all I want to use it for is to show off the covers
I don’t want to show album tracks anywhere in views, only the album covers.
I want to show the name of each album and year under each album cover.
I want to be able to just show albums for a certain year or artist or genre.

Am I able to add some of my own fields, like Awards (Grammies, Etc)
Can I use Keywords?

Also can MusicBee be used as an organizer for movie files?

I do appreciated any respones - I'm a senior & new software can be confusing, David

Questions / Adding Custom Fields

Newbie David Here,  Is there a way to add custom fields to Albums, not necessarily Tracks and be able to sort and filter on these custom fields.  Example is adding a field for Grammy Awards Nominees & Winners, Perhaps a field for "ALLMUSIC" Album Picks and or rating.  I have an extensive collection but most of the extra info is entered into a spreadsheet and when I want to find something I have to sort to find the info!  Really like this software but overwhelming for a senior!

Questions / Problems w Portable Edition

Newbie David here.  I installed the portable version 3.3.7367 onto a flash drive.  I created a shortcut on my desktop.  When I click on the exe file on the flash drive it opens right up however when I click on the desktop shortcut it keeps wanting to reinstall the program!  This is the way I handle all other portable software I use and never have any issues.   
I must say this is the best music organizer I've seen.  All my artwork looks great and there are so many ways to display my collection!
I have JRiver MC 26 and it is such a pain!!!

Any help is appreciated! Tks, DN
