Questions / Playlist 'Pause' oddity
« on: June 05, 2019, 07:12:57 AM »
One of several questions I asked awhile back...never got an answer on this one. Might just be a non-obvious setting, but it still puzzles me:

Situation is, I'm playing a long playlist and hit 'Pause' in the middle of a track. When I come back later and hit 'Play', it starts up where it left off, plays a few seconds, then jumps to the start of the next track in the playlist instead of finishing the paused track.

"A few seconds" may be the 5-second buffer size I've specified in the 'Player' option tab, but I have not measured it precisely enough to prove that. And by "later", I mean several hours or even days: this laptop is hooked to the living room stereo and pretty much dedicated to MB. Both the NAS and the laptop are set to static IP addresses, and the laptop is set to never sleep.

Windows 10 and MB Portable 3.2, if it matters. Not a huge problem, just puzzling and vaguely annoying.

Questions / Odd Playlist Behavior
« on: May 06, 2019, 12:35:49 AM »
Might just be a coupe of non-obvious settings, but I've noticed two things that puzzle me:

1. First situation is, I'm playing a long playlist and hit 'Pause' in the middle of a track. When I come back later and hit 'Play', it starts up where it left off, plays about a few seconds, then jumps to the start of the next track in the playlist. It's not consistent, in the sense that, if "later" is only a minute or two, it works as expected, finishing the track that was in progress. Typically "later" is several hours or the next day: this laptop is hooked to the living room stereo and pretty much dedicated to MB. And I don't know if it does it on my other machines, since I don't normally use them in this fashion.

2. Second, when it gets to the end of a playlist, it doesn't "rewind". I know there's a setting to repeat a playlist continuously, but I'd expect when it finishes the last track of a playlist and stops, I can hit 'Play' again and the playlist will restart at the beginning: at least that's how every other player I've used works. What happens is, it simply replays the last track again and stops.

It's running on Win10/64, whatever version was current when I installed it in February. Neither of these are deal-breakers, just annoyances.

Questions / Yet another uninstall question
« on: March 13, 2019, 04:22:44 AM »
I used the installer version to put MB on three computers, one Win7, two Win10, all accessing a common repository of MP3s on a network share (drive "M:" on all three computers). Upon further review, I decided to switch to the portable version, for reasons that seemed good at the time. Two worked fine.

The third (one of the Win10 laptops) seemed to uninstall, but running the portable version failed miserably: during the unzip operation, it shows 'skipped' for all the files, as if it thinks MB is still/already there. It's certainly gone from C:\Program Files (x86) and everywhere else I can think of to look, so I'm looking for suggestions before performing a scavenger hunt for registry entries and the like.

Any help here?
