Questions / Cannot drag files to inbox after installing on Windows 10
« on: November 24, 2019, 01:24:54 PM »
I updated to 3.3 and could no longer drag files from explorer into my inbox.
I tried downgrading back to 3.2 and the problem persists.
I installed 3.3 as an administrator, and it still doesn't work.
I ran MusicBee.exe as an administrator, and the problem still persists.
"Enable MusicBee in Windows Explorer and context menus" is checked. Doesn't make a difference either way.

I'm on Windows 10 64-Bit. I upgraded from 7 a few months ago and am pretty sure I haven't installed/updated MusicBee on Win10 until today.

Questions / Accidentally Copied Inbox to Library; How to remove?
« on: September 09, 2019, 08:14:40 PM »
My Library is not set to Auto-Organize. It is contained in one folder.

A few days ago from my inbox I selected hundreds of files and said "Move to Library". I didn't realize until today that they were simply linked to my library and not moved to the folder my library is stored. I attempted to move the files again, but I accidentally chose "Send-To > Folder (Copy)" when I meant to click "Folder (Move)". Now I have a ton of duplicates of each file.

Other than creating a new library, I absolutely cannot figure out how to remove all files that are not stored in my Library's folder.

I tried making a recently added auto-playlist, but there are no files added today. They only have the day they were added to the inbox (strange).

I tried managing duplicates, but sometimes it prompts me to remove the one in the library folder, and sometimes it prompts me to remove the one merely linked to the library.

And of course I tried rescanning, but even though I only have my one library folder checked it doesn't delete files that aren't in that folder.

MusicBee Wishlist / Toggle "Album Rating" in the Track Detail view
« on: February 20, 2016, 11:23:09 PM »
Haven't posted in a while (but still enjoying MusicBee daily). Hopefully this request is as simple as I think it'd be.

I know that "Album Rating" was meant to be calculated by taking the average of the track ratings within an album, but I'd like to use it the same way I use track rating.
I'd like to be able to change the rating of an album within the library (instead of editing a track and changing the album rating within).

I personally don't think it'd be necessary to add "Album Rating" to the Bottom Progress Panel, but if someone wants to add that too go for it.

Portable Devices / Cowon iAudio 10 details not displayed
« on: April 16, 2013, 05:00:56 AM »
When I click on the device in musicbee it only shows me name, capacity, and free space. It'd be great if Serial Number, Manufacturer, Model, Firmware Version, and especially Battery were all displayed.

Portable Devices / Creative Zen Mosaic Synchronize Problems
« on: April 08, 2013, 03:32:37 PM »
The Creative Media Player software is awful, so I attempted to sync my girlfriend's Zen Mosaic with musicbee. It recognized the device, but it was unable to drop-down device menus like "Music", "Video", etc. No big deal.

I put all of the files I wanted to sync in a playlist and had the device only sync the files in that playlist (this is what I do with my Cowon). I hit the sync button.

It runs smooth until about 21% of the player is full, then every transfered track fails. MusicBee continues trying to write the tracks to the device. I had to stop the transfer, but I wager it would infinitely attempt to write the tracks over and over. I tried the whole process again and the exact same thing happened.

Such a bummer. Now my girlfriend is going to have put all of the albums she wants on her mp3 player on one by one again (and the stupid creative software won't import the m3u playlist I made in musicbee). I feel pretty bad about it.

I'm using a Cowon iAudio 10 mp3 player with musicbee, and it works great.
The only thing that bothers me is how long it takes to sync it. My device doesn't even support Star Ratings (sadly), nor publisher, comments, or any of the tags(2) fields; yet if I edit any of these fields in my Music Library, it has to reupload the edited tracks onto my mp3 player.

It'd be nice if we could make it so certain fields are exempt from being scanned/noticed when syncing.

MusicBee Wishlist / Two Small Device-Related Suggestions
« on: January 23, 2013, 05:27:04 PM »
1. Add an eject button next to the device name for the purpose of safely removing it (would function the same way as right-clicking and selecting "safely remove" but is takes one less click to do).

2. When deleting songs off of a device, the folders the songs were in don't delete. This is a pain for me because I like to sort by folder within my mp3 player, so I have a bunch of empty folders laying around that I have to delete manually.

I have a no-brand Chinese mp3 player. It doesn't have a way of sorting by tracknumber, but it sorts music in the order each file was copied to it (essentially, it behaves like a flashdrive that can also play music). If I use musicbee to put files onto my mp3 player, it puts them in a random order.

I've since found a few programs on this website that put things in order for me, but I think it'd be nice if musicbee somehow implemented a FAT Sorter. Here are some example programs. http://www.murraymoffatt.com/software-problem-0010.html

I'm using Version 1.4.4551, but based on what I've read, I don't think the beta has this feature, right?
Edit: I'm now using the new beta and still having the same issue.

MusicBee Wishlist / Music Guessing Game
« on: April 30, 2012, 10:02:48 PM »
First Post
I've been using MusicBee for a couple of years now, and it is by far the best media player I've ever used. I love it.

This is a goofy suggestion, but it'd be really cool/fun if there were some sort of music guessing game built into the media player. Something like the game that is/was on iPods or the one that comes with Jaangle. http://www.jaangle.com/

It's a great tool for learning the names of your tracks, and it's a lot of fun. Thoughts?
