Questions / Old version for Win XP
« on: July 06, 2021, 02:20:05 PM »
Hello,

I am a big fan of MusicBee software, which I have been using for several years. Thanks for this work.
I would like to install it on a small laptop (for my children and their personal albums) on which Windows XP is installed.

Version 3.4 is not supported on this OS, it asks me to install 2.5. However, I cannot find the file that allows it.

I install the files found here:
https://getmusicbee.com/forum/index.php?topic=13648.0
But the installation did not work. These files seem to just update a version already installed.

The only link that offers a full 2.5 version is out of date.
Is it possible to provide me with version 2.5 of MusicBee for Win XP?

Thank you so much.

Cordially.

Hello,

I discovered MusicBee this year, I love it! Excellent software, thank you!

Possessing several devices, I store my music on a drive (DropBox, OneDrive, ...)

After listening tracks, it's upload to the drive (the whole file).
This is not always the case, but it happens quite frequently.

As a result, I deduce that reading a track sometimes causes the modification of metadata (tags).
Automatic and not manual modification: in the described case, I simply "read" the file without touching the different tags and notation.

This quickly becomes problematic with a number of tracks read, and a low personal internet speed: I need more than one night to synchronize files on different devices.
I obviously can not afford to do that anymore.

Could someone tell me if the track reading actually changes one or more tags?

If so, would someone have a more effective solution?

Thank you in advance.
