Can anyone tell me how to get the software, specifically the left side bar, to open at the exact same place where I left it?  It used to do this, but I think I changed something without realizing it.  Let's say I was playing Queens of The Stone Age and halfway through the record I hit pause and closed the software.  The next day it comes back up with the left side bar all the way back up to the top instead of in the Q's where it was when I was playing QOTSA.  Here are two shots.  The second of which is what I'd like to see happen when I open MusicBee back up the next day.  Thanks in advance!

Bug Reports / MB v3.3+ Stopped Searching For Artwork
« on: May 06, 2023, 03:46:52 PM »
What would cause MusicBee to get disconnected from the Internet databases for artwork?   I can't seem to figure this one out.
I have full access to the Internet and it worked for years just fine, but then one day nothing.  I download the artwork I need and
hit choose file now, but it's annoying.  Anyone out there have a similar issue they resolved?  Thanks!  -  John

Bug Reports / No More Searching For Artwork...
« on: March 02, 2023, 05:53:54 PM »
I'm on v3.5.8447 after upgrading.  I can't for the life of me figure out why MB no longer can find any artwork out of the web.  It just says it can't find anything as if you were trying to tag your neighbor's band nobody ever heard of.  I can still find artwork on the web, crop, improve the color, etc and place it in the box and save.  Everything else still works great, it's just that I no longer have the option of quickly finding artwork via MusicBee.  I loved that feature.  I've tried Googling  the answer, but nothing seems to address my issue directly.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.  I guess I could delete the software outright and re-install it, but I don't want to have to go through all the customizing and importing all over again.  Thanks!

General Discussions / MB v3.3+ Suddenly Stopped Searching For Artwork
« on: February 25, 2023, 09:12:39 PM »
Minor hassle, but when I add a new record to the database and hit search internet for the artwork nothing happens anymore.  It used to search iTunes, Gracenote, etc looking for the best artwork and now I just get a triangle with an exclamation point in saying it can't find anything.  I don't recall doing anything special or changing anything that would cause this.  I can still manually search and insert the artwork, but it was rare before.  Now I need to do it on every new entry.  I tried to Google a solution, but there wasn't much there.  My tags are embedded, but it was working so well prior that I don't even want to update the software.  Maybe I fell too far behind or something?  I don't want an update making changes to my presently used skins or layout in any way, but maybe I have to update now.  Any guidance would be appreciated.  Thanks!

Questions / Quick Question On Searching...
« on: December 21, 2022, 05:50:15 PM »
First, let me say that I freaking love Music Bee.  I've been using it maybe 5 years now and it blows away ITunes or what's left of MusicMatch (Yahoo).  I like to sort by year in the upper right hand corner.  I play a Twitter game where I need to focus on a given year like 1967.  Anyway, as this year wears down we are focused on 2022.  This is first time I noticed this issue, but the same goes for 2021 and 2020.  For some reason, and yes I'm still on v3.3.7, searching on 2022/21/20 yields zero results.  Searching on 1955 through 2019 gives me what I want; a list of everything in my database that was released that year.  Even though the Y2K issue turned out to be largely a myth, I'm wondering if this is a similar issue that is solved if I upgrade to v3.5.  I ask because I've learned not to automatically update when things are working well in a given app.  I did this with Audacity recently and all heck broke loose.  I had to go find the old version to make it work again.  I don't want anything to change, including the current skin I'm using or any of my settings, if I update to v3.5.  I'm only going to do it if I can search by 2020 and upward going forward.  This issue may not have been noticed by anyone, but I was curious to see if anyone else came across this issue.  Maybe one or two of you could search my 2022 in the later versions for me and let me know if it works.  Obviously you need music released this year to make that work for the record.  Thanks in advance and Merry Christmas!

Questions / Edited Song Lengths Seem To Retain Old Duration
« on: October 31, 2020, 12:51:24 AM »
Hi Folks -  I hope this isn't a redundant topic, but I searched and came up empty.  Every now and then I'll come across a hidden track in an MP3 file.  I always edited them into two tracks and rename the second one.  I just came across one such track and the time went from 10 minutes plus to 4:09.  I deleted the song from the DB, refreshed, added the new one, but he old 10 minute time seems to stay attached to it.  I can't edit it manually either as it is greyed out.  I'm sure it's something simple, but I've yet to solve the mystery.  Anyone?   Thanks in advance!

Bug Reports / Artwork Issues
« on: November 17, 2017, 06:39:51 PM »
I tried to update the software and copy the patch files and think I was successful.  I'm having a very minor issue, but it's annoying as hell because I'm using your software to update the artwork in my extensive collection.  It's pretty easy, love the software overall after dealing with the likes of iTunes and various other garbage (thank you!), but this oddity has been bugging me.  When I play a song back the artwork will occasionally flicker back to the old artwork I replaced.  It maintains in the window above and along the bottom in miniature form, but in the big window it'll alternate every 30 seconds or so.  I know you've had at least one person approach you on this in the past and you suggested a patch.  I feel like I tried that and there was no change except to some of the pictures in the band folders down the left hand column.  There usually, as far as I can tell, is a picture of the album at the top of the folder alphabetically.  Some of them changed to photos I have never seen, but the actual artwork attached to each individual album seems to be where I want it, that is until it toggles back and forth during playback.  I'm on V3.1.6512.  Do I still have to patch this version to get this thing stabilized?  To your knowledge, where is the old artwork still residing?  I was hoping it wasn't still attached to the actual files vs retained in some sort MB software memory.  Anyway, I apologize profusely if you are dealing with this same issue for the billionth time.  Thanks in advance.  - John
