Questions / Last.FM genre per track (not by artist) not working?
« on: October 17, 2018, 07:57:52 AM »
Hello all,

In Tags (2) settings i have disabled retrieve artist genres only
I have retrieve multiple genres enabled and set to retrieve 5
I then select all tags from any particular album and Auto Tag By Track -> Update tags using Last.FM cloud-> Overwrite genres
Run this through
Unfortunately for any given album the results give the same genres for every single track when looking at individual tracks on last.fm the tags are different

Example: Green Day - Nimrod (Album)
All tracks tagged as Punk Rock, Pop Punk, Ska Punk
Instrumental is on the allowed genres list.
Track 10, Last Ride In, is an instrumental song with instrumental being the first tag on its last.fm page

Thats just an example but all albums i have tried give identical results for every track. I expected some tracks of each album would have different genres

What am i doing wrong?

MusicBee Wishlist / Add _gsdata_ folder to excluded folders
« on: March 12, 2017, 03:06:02 AM »
My wishlist:

Please add the system folder generated by Goodsync to your list of ignored folders during a scan.
The folder is exactly _gsdata_

Im sure there will be more of these types of request so perhaps a feature whereby the user can specify folder exclusions would be easier to manage into the future

Thanks

Questions / Ignore _gsdata_ folder
« on: March 07, 2017, 10:52:43 AM »
Hello all,

I use goodsync to synchronise my music files between my NAS and my various computers on which i run musicbee. Goodsync has to produce a folder _gsdata_ in every parent folder it syncs for example:

c:/music
c:/music/_gsdata_
c:/music/ABBA
c:/music/Akon
c:/music/AC-DC

etc.

There is absolutely no way to prevent the _gsdata_ folder from being made and it often contains backup mp3's as part of how goodsync operates. The problem is when i scan my music folder (with several thousands of sub folders and songs) and it imports the contents of _gsdata_ too therefore i end up with duplicates which are painful to remove.

I know about the remove duplicates feature.... problem is i may have made changes to the tags between the "proper" file and those in _gsdata_ folder so again it becomes painful to screen the old ones.

I tried hiding the _gsdata_ folder but it still imports into MB

Is there anyway i can exclude this folder?
