Bug Reports / Soundcloud Downloads .wav as .mp3

Using Soundcloud Search, .wav files are downloaded with .mp3 extension instead. File size is same on MB as file downloaded through Soundcloud site.

MB 3.4.7764 on Win10 Pro 20H2 19042.928



I've been getting this on MB startup for past few days.
The error log:

I've gotten a file cache corrupted error before but it usually only happens once and then I don't see it again but now...

Bug Reports / MB Freezes When I Search For Podcasts

Windows 10 Pro v1903 build 18362.418

When I try and use "Search Podcast Directory" MB freezes and I have to go into Task Manager and stop MB.

Bug Reports / Problem with track length for large wav file

I downloaded a DJ set from Soundcloud and it's a large .wav file (3.41 GB/ 5:46:33). When I went to play the file the track length displays as -59:-14. I downloaded the file again through the website and I tried through MB's soundcloud search and got the same problem. Smaller .wav files don't seem to be a problem.

Running Win10 Pro 64bit, MB 3.3.7014





However, the track time/length displays properly in the player

Win10
MB 3.3.7003

I'm getting green separators between my tabs (#1) and the Spectrum Visualizer (#2) seems to be upside down when I move the Main Player Controls to the top pane. Before I moved the Player Controls, the Visualizer would have the white on the bottom moving up into the grey. Now it looks like the white is moving from the top to the bottom and the lower frequency is on the right instead of the left. When I moved the Main Player Controls back to the bottom the tabs return to normal but the Visualizer still seems upside sown. I don't think these are specific to 3.3, I vaguely recall seeing the 1st issue before and don't remember seeing the 2nd when I tried moving the player before. I've tried restarting MB to see if that fixes the problems but they're still there.

Just noticed. 3.2 and earlier remembered playback position when I stopped then resumed playback. 3.3 does not even though podcast episodes are checked/ticked to remember playback position when I right click individual episodes, "edit", "settings".

Bug Reports / [FIXED] Sidebar player volume hyper sensitive with mouse scroll wheel in 3.3

Trying to change/adjust the volume when using the sidebar player, volume goes 0 to 100 no matter how slowly/gently I try. Started with 3.3.6889 and with 3.3.6890.

Main player volume control works as usual.

I have tried with different skins (thinking it might be related to my not being able to re enable progress bar) but the same problem occurs regardless of skin.

Bug Reports / [Fixed] v3.3.6889 Cannot Re-Enable Progress Bar

Just gave it a try. Right click player - Panel Layout - Do not display. Cool no progress bar. Tried re-enabling and "Progress bar" is greyed out and clicking on it does nothing. So I've lost the progress bar.

Bug Reports / "Remember Playback Postition" Not Ticked in Podcasts with "Chapters"

Currently using MB v3.1.6311 but has occurred in previous 3.1 versions. Usually podcasts default to "Remember Playback Position" but when podcast have "Chapters", "Remember Playback Position" is not ticked and there is a dropdown menu . It looks like MB is treating it as a cue sheet.

Is there a setting to remember playback position globally? I see there's an option to remember position and/or resume playback on startup, but that only seems to work if there's a track in "Now Playing". I know I can go into the properties of individual tracks, albums, podcasts and check the box in the "Settings" tab. Is there a way to do that for everything at once?

Questions / Questions About Some Odd Behavior

Okay, so a few odd things I've noticed that may or may not be attributed to my "Selective Blindness" ("You just need to click that check box RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU."). That being said, prior to 3.1, I just kept everything pretty much stock, only changing the skin, how MB plays tracks, and how it organizes them. So now that I've updated to 3.1, I figured I should try and make it more to my liking aesthetically. Again, there probably "user error" so that's why I'm posting here instead of going directly to "Bug Reports".

1. Now Playing Tab
I'm using the "Sidebar Player" in the right sidebar. If I use "Artist Picture", "Album Cover Mix", or "Large Album", some elements of the sidebar player cover other elements unless the sidebar is widened.

Also, the built in visualizer in "Artist Picture", "Album Cover Mix", and "Large Album" shows "Centered Frequency Range" and cannot be changed.

2. Compact Player
If I use one of the "Theater Modes" in the compact player, the menu button/drop down greys out everything except "Artist Picture", "Album Cover Mix", "Large Album", "Playing Tracks" and "Upcoming Tracks". I have to go to either "Edit Preferences" or "Customize Panels" to change to a different "Theater Mode". This wasn't the case in version 3.0.

And again the built in visualizer in "Artist Picture", "Album Cover Mix", and "Large Album" shows "Centered Frequency Range" and cannot be changed.

3. Podcast Chapters
I just noticed that this is a thing and MB has integrated it. Way cool. Okay, now the odd part. If I double click to play or left click, play now/queue next/queue last the complete podcast track loads and the chapters appear in the scrolling title in the player and the popup. But if I drag and drop into the "Playing Tracks" in the right sidebar, the chapters load like separate tracks (or like loading a cue sheet) and the highlighted track playing does not advance as the podcast chapters progress. This seems like a bug but could be something weird on my end.

Sorry about the long post and hopefully these are all just "Click that check box in front of you" fixes.

MusicBee Wishlist / Uniform Time Display

Hi,

I've got a few DJ/live sets and podcasts that run longer than an hour and noticed that MB uses 2 different formats for displaying time on a track.

In the Library, MB looks like it uses mmm:ss while the player uses h:mm:ss (time elapsed)/mmm:ss (total time, time remaining).

Could MB use just h:mm:ss and not both?

Bug Reports / Trying to play track(s) from Windows Explorer opens new instance of MusicBee

Running MB 3.0.6135 (just updated earlier this morning) on Win10.

So, if I have MusicBee open and go into my "Music" folder in Windows and either double click, right click and "Play with MusicBee", "Queue Next in MusicBee" or "Queue Last in MusicBee", Musicbee will open a second separate instance.

The double click and "Play with MusicBee" have been doing this for the past couple of revisions, but I didn't really worry about it because I don't really use it that often. But the "Queue..." problem is something new. I can drag and drop without a problem, if that helps any.

Running MB 3.0.6112 and for the past day or so, I haven't been getting any results on any searches.
