I've been getting this error lately for the past few days when clicking one of the existing library tabs on a different computer.

I use MusicBee portably and open it daily, when switching computers from home to work I always get empty tabs, and I have to manually click them and browse to the correct playlist to repopulate them. This error happens when I click one of the existing autoplaylist tabs.

Questions / Empty tabs when changing computers
« on: March 05, 2019, 09:57:21 AM »
TL;DR: I get empty tabs for autoplaylists when using MusicBee 3.2.6902 from a different drive letter

In MusicBee 3.2.6902 I have a bunch of tabs permanently open corresponding to a series of auto-playlists most with a simple path filter of the sort:

Code
Path contains \Music\Genre

I also have a few default ones like Recently Added.

When I use MusicBee on my work computer I run it from a thumbdrive with a different drive letter. It correctly remaps my library without issues, but most tabs appear empty until I go through each one of them and manually click on the corresponding entry from the sidebar to force a refresh.

I assume this is because of the drive letter change; somehow the library updates correctly but the autoplaylists aren't refreshed on time or properly repopulated for the new paths.

Is there a way to avoid this and have it populated automatically? Is this considered a bug? Home computer is running Windows 7 64bits while work computer uses Windows 10, not sure if this may cause said issues.

This also forced me to remove navigation locks from all tabs since it was causing duplicates when trying to force a refresh.

Questions / Prefer embedded artist pictures when grouped by artist
« on: April 16, 2018, 07:11:24 PM »
Is there a way to tell MusicBee to prefer embedded artists pictures as thumbnail for tracks grouped by artists instead of downloaded ones?

I often manually load better quality artwork form the internet I then embed into my media files, like album covers, artists photos etc.
Is there a way to tell MusicBee to prefer those as group thumbnails in the main panel grouped view, instead of downloading new ones from the internet? Some times non can be found and an empty thumbnail is shown when there is an available picture in the files.

Could not find anything under User Preferences > Layout (1) > Main Panel > Customize Layout > Artwork > When Albums are grouped by artist, maybe I missed something or I'm looking in the wrong place.

Thanks for the help

Bug Reports / Index was outside the bounds of the array
« on: July 02, 2017, 04:09:24 AM »
I can't quite remember what I was doing at the moment, but I think what triggered this error by renaming an autoplaylist from the left sidebar while it was simultaneously opened in the current active tab. MusicBee didn't crash, it kept working happily afterwards, just displayed the error message below.

Code

Not sure if this is enough info to diagnose the problem or not, if you need any additional details let me know.
Are these error reports even remotely useful, or should I just not post them at all? If not don't bother, I'll just shut up.

BTW, on a side note, congrats on the 3.0 series, just started using them today for the first time, beautiful UI redesign ;)

Questions / Hilighting synchronized lyrics
« on: June 25, 2014, 01:06:15 PM »
Hello everyone

I recently found out about and started trying using the highlighting options in the Preferences>Tags (2)>Highlighting, so I was trying to make a filter that would add an icon to files with synchronized lyrics and another for files with regular lyrics but I am unable to do so.

I tried a filter with
Code
Lyrics? contains '[', Lyrics? contains ']'

to try and make Musicbee search for files with those characters in the Lyrics field (used in timestamps indicating that they were most likely synched lyrics), but all files with lyrics are highlighted regardless of the content. Am I doing something wrong, are the '[' ']' characters somehow used internally in the field leading to false positives, or am I simply using it wrong?

Any advice on a better method? Thanks ???

Icons / DPFR Musicbee Icon
« on: January 12, 2014, 08:08:59 PM »
It's been a while since my last MusicBee icon, so here's a new minimal style one complete with 16x16 32x32 48x48 and 256x256 versions.
You can use it through Edit>Preferences>General>Select icon:

Download

Hope you like it  ;)

MusicBee Wishlist / Improved Lyrics Synching workflow
« on: January 07, 2014, 06:13:32 PM »
When synchronizing lyrics would it be possible to automatically add the milliseconds?
Currently only minutes and seconds are added when pressing CTRL+T, and some times one time stamp per second is insufficient.
If there's a lack of precision issue could we instead add the milliseconds text with all trailing zeros automatically? That would help a lot with later refining it by hand.

Also could the CTRL+T key shortcut be changed or, if possible, be made customizable?
It is a little uncomfortable and cumbersome to use, and since it's a twitch related task that often requires precise timing and somewhat prolonged use, a comfortable position is more desirable. It is also hard to use with the left hand, which becomes an issue if the right hand is resting on the mouse, where it is useful for quickly jumping, fixing a mistake or simply scrolling the lyrics.

Thanks

Icons / BERSERKER Icon Set
« on: November 24, 2011, 04:52:57 PM »
Hey everyone.

Not really a skin but could not figure out a more appropriate forum for these so apologies if this is in the wrong place: the moderators or Steven can move/erase it if they wish so.

Back to topic: I've been working on wallpapers for my PC lately, and I figured this could actually give some nice music bee icons.
I am currently using them through the edit>preferences>general>select icon option to change the application icon, so I decided to share them here with my fellow MusicBee fans.
There are three color variants

And here is how they look

Hope you like them, you can grab the .ico files for the variations:
Yellow     Black     White
