Bug Reports / [3.2.6608] Splitter line when grouping in albums view
« on: February 08, 2018, 03:39:52 PM »
In the albums view, when grouping, e.g., by year, the year is displayed, and below there is a splitter line.
But when grouping by Artist or Album Artist, instead of below the name, the line appears below the albums, and next to the name there is a play icon (that doesn't play, just expands the first album).
I've tested with a virtual tag asigned to Artist and Album Artist tags, and this way it works as it is supposed (the name, and the splitter line below, without the play icon).

TheaterMode / AlbumArtist picture and volume slider in embedded TM
« on: January 27, 2018, 09:09:12 PM »
I'm working on an embedded TM to replace the main player bar.
Something like this:

I want to include my local artist pictures, but i have a problem.
As I listen mainly Jazz, the artist name usually includes the words trio, quartet, quintet, band, etc. in the artist name. In this cases I tag the album with an AlbumArtist only with the artist name, without the trio, quartet...
But looks like in TM I can only use an artist picture, and not an AlbumArtis picture. Therefore, often the image shown is not correct (or even there is no image).
It's possible to use the AlbumArtis picture (local) instead of the Artist picture?

I've included buttons for volume up, down and mute, but I would like to use the volumen slider, for two reason:
- This way I can use the mouse scroll to control the volume.
- Without the slider I can't see the volume value and check if it' too loud when the track start playing.

Can I use the volume slider as in the default TM player?
At least, is there a volume number element, as in the Sidebar Player when the space is too narrow to show the slider?

Questions / Extract Role/instrument from the Artist:performer tag
« on: July 05, 2017, 09:29:36 AM »
In the column browser you can sort and filter the albums by the artist:performer tag.
This shows the name of the artist, with the role/instrument in parentheses.

What I would like is to be able to also filter my albums by the instrument / role, and not just by the name of the artist.
For example, to display the name of all tenor saxophone players.

I am trying to extract that information with virtual tags but I am not able to (I'm trying with $Split and the Redwing formulas for removing characters).

Can it be done, or should be a wishlist request?

Thanks for any help.

Questions / Edit roles in the Artists tag.
« on: April 23, 2017, 09:44:52 AM »
Is it possible to edit the list of roles in the artist tag? I miss some (Producer or Engineer).

Also, in the new instruments list, if you need one that is not in the list, it's not automatically added to the list when you type it. I.e. There is no "organ" instrument (yes, there are several options, but not simply "organ"), and it is necessary to write it each time.
And there are many that I'm sure I will never use, but that will show up when you're typing, which makes it slow to choose the right one.

By the way, when you add an artist and go to the role column, the artist's name is automatically added as a role, and you need to erase it before adding the instrument, which also slows down the process. Is this the normal behavior?

MusicBee Wishlist / Vertical tag editor
« on: October 17, 2016, 02:13:31 AM »
I think it would be a good option if the tag editor could be displayed vertically.

It could be docked at the left or right side of the main panel, or even better could be included as an element in the side panels, so that clicking on its tab the album or song tags will be shown.

This way is no longer needed separate the main tags into two tabs, and it would be easier to have a complete view using the vertical scroll bar.

With a collapsable horizontal division you could show or hide the different sections what are now tabs (artwork, lyrics, etc).

Also, i would like to choose which tags are displayed. There are several tags that I never use, and hiding them would make it easier to navigate through the panel.

I would also like to be able to reorder tags. Just an example: I use a custom tag for styles, and I would like to place it after the genre tag.

And a minor request: The save icon is a little "old". It could be changed?

PD: Sorry for my bad english.

Bug Reports / Error with Expanded Panel colors?
« on: June 20, 2016, 11:40:14 PM »
My layout is Artist View and expanded panel without automatic colors.

Since the last updated patch (3.0.6015), when I click on the artist and then in an album in the expanded panel, I get an error.
If I set the expanded panel with automaitc colors , the error disappears.
If I set off the colors again, I don't get the error but when I restart the program the error reappears.

I've done several tests and, without automatic colors, if the artist has only one album the error doesn't appear, nor if use enter to play the album.
It seems that the problem is related to the colors of the expanded panel and the mouse.

This is the error log:

Thanks.

Questions / Split Custom Tags
« on: March 13, 2016, 11:52:11 AM »
Just a question:
Is it possible to create custom or virtual tags that can separate the content in rows and columns as does the Artist tag?
I created custom tags for musicians (Credits Musicians List) and credits (People Involved List). Both can be splitted in rows, but I wonder if they also could have two columns, one for the name, and one for the role,or this is just for the Artis tag.
