Portable Devices / [SOLVED] Windows 10 support?
« on: July 26, 2015, 01:54:33 AM »
Hi, I have MusicBee portable 2.5 with latest .exe patch from the forums. In my Windows 7 64bit install, with my Android phone, reading and syncing worked perfect - no problems

Now that I've done a clean install and loaded Windows 10 64bit build 10240 as my new OS, MusicBee is working perfectly fine, except reading and syncing to android is broken, sadly. If i click sync preview, nothing happens. If I click the music node of my device it scans the first 500 files and then says an error message in the status bar, no files show up.

My android device is working fine everywhere else in Windows 10.

I'm running MusicBee in admin mode. I've tried deleting the device and reconfiguring it, changing from mass storage mode to MTP, but none of that works.

Anything I can do to get it working?

When you edit a tracks start and end time (right-click>edit>settings). It would be cool  if that edit was also uploaded to portable devices when doing a sync. From my experience - its not.

Even better, when viewing the library in track detail it should display tracks like this:

-The chemical brothers - don't think 7:44
-The chemical brothers - don't think (0:00 -  5:34)   <--this expands below from the original track and is not counted as a new track.
   -The chemical brothers - don't think (1:23 -  3:20)   <--ability to have multiple edits of a track.

This way you have an option of playing the original track without losing the option to play your time edited version...by default it would play tracks normally without including the edited versions unless you click to play the edited version.

And, how about a whole new right-click menu option called 'edit track' then a panel opens up with a 'WAVE BAR' and from there you can select the start and stop inputs visually, just like in Audacity/Goldwave. Man, would that be neat!!!  8)

Basically, more options to the way a user can edit start and stop times of tracks and the way its displayed is what I'm requesting.

Note, I am perfectly aware of ways of doing the above with a combination of other programs, but having the ability to do it within MusicBee would be awesome. Using Mp3edit lets me edit the track with a wave bar, but adding it to MusicBee would take up disk-space, and be counted as a whole new track, thus messing up my proper album collection...  :o

Thanks for listening...    :D

MusicBee Wishlist / Tag Cloud Browser
« on: June 20, 2011, 02:24:03 AM »
As an option to browse tracks like the 'Track Browser' and 'A-Z jump bar'.

Tag cloud browsing is cool. I have my music tagged in the comments field like this:

trippy sexy pop rock

Would be cool if you could choose which field to use the tag cloud on, and what separator to use ( -, _ a space etc.)

Here is what tag cloud in case any one is wondering.

That is all for now, Mr Mayall.
