Questions / Musicbee not scanning music folder...
« on: August 14, 2016, 05:11:46 AM »
I don't know if this is a  bug issue or I'm just not sure how to do it correctly, but I added a bunch of music to a watched folder in Musicbee, and they aren't showing up in my library.  I even went to file 'scan folder for new files' and still wouldn't show up.  I restarted musicbee several times.  In preferences, in 'library' I have my folder set to be continuously monitored' but still not working even after a restart.

I'm using version 3.0.6050

Bug Reports / ipod Nano won't sync
« on: July 29, 2016, 03:03:09 AM »
I don't know if this is a bug or not, but I synced a playlist from musicbee to my ipod nano and while the nano and the playlist shows up in the musicbee library, it doesn't show up on my Nano once I disconnect.

Any idea why this might be happening?

Questions / file organization question
« on: June 21, 2015, 10:46:14 PM »
Is there any way to rename the folders my song files are in, BUT still keep those original folder names?   For instance, I can set a new folder to put my new file naming structure in, but it simply moves the old file and folders over to that new place.   I just want to create a copy with the new naming structure and keep the old file naming structure in place.    any way to do this?

Questions / external mp3 tagger
« on: June 09, 2015, 05:31:02 PM »
So I use all the internal taggers built into MB (gracenote, musicbrainz, freedb, last.fm)  but notice some of the metadata is off (year especially).    Is there any external tagging tool that I could use in conjuction with these that is easy to implement so I can quickly retag music and have it instantly show up in the library like the internal ones I use?  How would I go about installing it if there is one that is compatabile with MB?

thanks guys

Questions / embedded artwork vs. separate folder
« on: June 09, 2015, 01:15:05 AM »
What are the advantages and disadvantages of embedding your album artwork vs. having a separate folder for it?  Seems like it only makes sense to embed the artwork, but I have heard some people say that you could run into compatibility issues with certain players in the future if you don't have a separate folder for the artwork.

curious your guys' thoughts

thanks!

I'm retagging a bunch of my music one by one and whenever I change the artist name, wherever I was at in the artist colum, it goes back to the beginning of the entire artist list instead of just going to the next artist in the list.  Anyone know if there is a workaround for this?

I'm going through all my songs one by one and when I either delete an artist or update the artist so it starts with a new letter, whatever place I left off at in the 'artist' scroll bar, gets reset and I go back to the very beginning.  Very easy to lose place of where you were.  I wish it wouldn't do this.

Questions / Tagging bug?
« on: August 11, 2014, 01:00:44 AM »
Haven't had this issue before but when I go to update tags for an artist (i.e. 'auto tag by album' the artist name in the results section shows the artist and all the genres of the artist.  For instance, I get this for the new artist name....

'blackstreetcontemporary r&b hiphop hip rnb and dance hallr&b'

I have to manually delete all those genres to update tags.

Any idea why this is happening?

thanks

Questions / Tagging and renaming automatically one song at a time?
« on: August 11, 2014, 12:22:49 AM »
Does anyone know if it is possible to tag and auto rename a file as I go through my library 1 song at a time?   My library is a mess, and I'm adding songs to a playlist, but am going through my songs 1 by 1 and tagging them, but then want the filename to be updated based on what I tagged it.

From what I understand you can go into 'preferences' and click 'autoorganise files' BUT it does it to all files at once.

Also, if this isn't possible, when I add a song to a playlist, but decide later to reorganise my filenames the playlist won't work anymore, correct?

thanks guys!

ps - I know I can change filenames manually but this is pretty tedious. Want to do it automatically but only 1 file at a time.
