Questions / Color Spectrum Visualizer?
« on: May 31, 2021, 09:24:20 PM »
Maybe I'm wrong, but wasn't the Spectrum Visualizer (right sidebar) in color at one time?
Would be nice if it was in color.

Questions / Library - Folder Name view question
« on: April 24, 2021, 04:21:06 PM »
I guess I'm not understanding this specific view.
After creating my library and then changing over to the Library tab, and selecting Folder Name, I would have expected to see a list of directory folders instead of album folders.

My music directory folders are organized like this:

Code
music\
...<Artist>\
...folder.jpg
......<Album>\
......folder.jpg
......<music files>

But the Library - Folder Name view appears like this:

So for Van Halen's 1984 album, the folder tree looks like this:

Code
music\
...Van Halen\
...folder.jpg
......1984\
......folder.jpg
......<music files>

Is there an option to show the Artist folder first ("Van Halen"), then click to get into the Album folder ("1984") next?

TIA!

MusicBee Wishlist / Support for VB-Audio's VBAN protocol?
« on: January 14, 2019, 12:47:49 AM »
I would like to suggest adding support for the VBAN audio protocol from VB-Audio as a stream url/radio station. (They call it a "VBAN-Receptor". Scroll to the bottom of that web page for details regarding the protocol itself.)

As a bonus, I would love it if MusicBee could be a broadcaster as well. (They call it a "VBAN-Spot".) Then I could use MusicBee as a way to play music over my home network and receive it in each bedroom totally in sync. (I could use some raspberry pi boards to receive the audio stream and play it over speakers in each room.)

Questions / icecast2 support gone?
« on: September 30, 2018, 04:28:30 AM »
Some time ago I set up a Raspberry Pi 3 as a music server (using mpd and icecast2, streaming an ogg format) to stream music to other Raspberry Pi 3s around my house. (That's currently working just fine.) At the same time, I had also set up a radio station in MusicBee to be able to listen in on that music server from my PC in my house. (That was working just fine.) I'm not sure when it happened, but today I just noticed that MusicBee just gives me a "The internet connection timed out" error when I try to listen to it. Would anyone have ideas as to why MusicBee seems unable to connect to that anymore?

I'm currently on MusicBee 3.2.6827.

Bug Reports / v3.1.6466 "has stopped working"
« on: October 11, 2017, 12:59:56 PM »
My MB keeps crashing/"stopped working" while doing nothing. Typically I start it up and leave it running, and ever since I updated to v3.1 I've found that it crashed or "stopped working" overnight. I don't see any crash dump files, so I'm not sure why it's doing this. It seems to run fine for many days, then just dies. The log file is also empty.

Is there any setting that enables it to create a dump file when this happens to help debug this?

MusicBee Wishlist / Changes to the Analyze Volume dialog
« on: February 12, 2016, 11:55:39 PM »
I'd like to request a few changes:

1. Make the "adjusted calculated replaygain values" slider larger. It's difficult to slide in 0.1dB increments. An alternative would be to put inc/dec buttons on either side to bump the adjustment up/down by 0.1dB.

2. Add a Zero button to the "adjusted calculated replaygain values" slider. That makes it easier to reset the dialog from the last album it processed.

3. Don't auto-dismiss the dialog. Or add an option to auto-dismiss. I've found that occasionally, when I need to adjust several tracks' track-specific replay gain settings, sometimes the dialog will auto-dismiss even though a few of the tracks actually would clip (even with the alert checked on).

4. Would it be so difficult to add some logic to this whole process to fully automate the replay gain values to prevent clipping for both tracks and album values? As it stands now, I typically start with both basis checked and 0dB, then (if necessary) I have to manually adjust the album basis first, then go through each track (that clips) individually adjusting them. Seems like this could be totally automated.

Bug Reports / [MB 3] Radio Station Export/Import not complete/correct
« on: January 08, 2016, 03:37:56 AM »
After spending a lot of time and effort to tidy up all of the data for all of my Radio Station entries, I wanted to sync the list to another PC. I was surprised when I discovered that I had lost a lot of information when I imported the list, and that's when I noticed that the xml file that's created when I export the radio station list isn't complete, and has missing and mislabeled fields.

When exporting:
* In the xml, the field labeled "category" is actually the genre. It also contains the format, bitrate, and the scrobble to Last.fm flag.
* The actual "category" data isn't exported at all.
* The "home page" data isn't exported.
* The "stream uses ascii encoding" flag isn't exported.
* The "automatically open the home page when station is playing" flag isn't exported.
* The picture associated with the radio station doesn't appear to be exported.
* The rating for the radio station is not exported.

When importing:
* The "category" field is parsed as [genre/format/bitrate/scrobble tracks to Last.fm flag] for the station, and the "Category" data is defaulted to "6".

Bug Reports / [MB 3] Radio Station import doesn't work.
« on: January 06, 2016, 12:19:38 AM »
MB 3 v3.0.5848

It appears that the Radio Station import isn't working. I can export to the xml file fine, but after deleting all the radio stations and attempting to import the just-exported xml file, nothing shows up. (If I go back to MB 2, I can import the exact same xml file just fine, and doing that also restores the radio station list in MB 3 as well.)

Note: I decided to re-post this bug report here since it dawned on me that this probably isn't a GUI issue in MB 3, and there doesn't appear to be a bug reporting form dedicated to MB 3 specifically. (Perhaps there should be?)

Questions / [Q] Why can't I rate radio streams anymore?
« on: December 21, 2015, 01:22:14 AM »
Sorry if this has been asked and answered already (I searched - didn't find anything relating to this)...

Why was rating radio streams disabled?

If I try, I get the error message "Only single music tracks can be rated - radio streams are not supported." I find this odd, since it was indeed supported some versions ago. In fact, my radio station list still shows the last ratings I assigned for each of the streams I've got. Only now I can't change them.

I know it may seem odd to rate a radio stream (not a specific music track), but I still believe there's value to assigning a rating to a radio stream.
