Since the last few versions of v3.2 (currently v3.2.6721), when I do a volume analysis on FLAC files, MusicBee adds a nameless tag with a value of "16".

v3.2.6636
Just updated to that version today and the problem has been present for a while now.

When I’m in the RADIO node, if I click on the MUSIC node it goes back to my library like it should.
When I’m in the RADIO node, if I click on a playlist I get that error message, but only for a few playlists, always the same ones.

Hello!

I have a FLAC collection and a MP3 one which is just a mirror of the FLAC one, and I’m looking for a way to change the files base paths and extensions in my FLAC library so I won’t lose play counts and all that. I’d like to use my MP3 collection instead of the FLAC one since they’re both on a mapped drive and it will take less bandwidth.

Doing a find & replace in MusicBeeLibrary.mbl to point to the MP3 files would have been pretty easy, if the MusicBee library was in plain text, XML, or something like that, but it’s not. Is there an easy way around this? Or some text editor other than Notepad I could use to do the find & replace without messing everything up?

I have all my music on a mapped drive under Windows 10, and sometimes playback stops at the end of the song.
I'm guessing it has something to do with the tracks fading into each other, maybe..
I have "crossfade tracks" set to 3 seconds, "fade in new tracks" is ticked, as well as "remove silence at start and end of each track".
It seems random. If I listen to an album, the first time it could happen to track 2, 3 and 7 for instance and if I listen to the album again it could happen to track 1, 3, 4 for instance.. It just seems random.
When playback stops, it's just like if I pressed pause; the PAUSE button becomes a PLAY icon.

I started using a mapped drive about a year ago and for as long as I remember, it always did that. I update to the latest 3.1 patch every 3 weeks or so.

Here's what the end of the wavebar looks like when playback stops. As you can see, it doesn't stop at the very end.

Bug Reports / Renaming playlist errors
« on: April 18, 2017, 06:07:27 PM »
Hi Steven.
I have a playlist called "Samsung Galaxy Note 7" under folder "Samsung Galaxy Note 7" in left panel, that I use to sync with my Note 7. I'm switching device and renamed the folder without any problem to "Samsung Galaxy S8+", but when I rename the playlist in that folder to "Samsung Galaxy S8+" I get these errors:

The playlist renames fine after that, but when I reopen MusicBee, it's back to its original name.

MusicBee Wishlist / Radio: Relative path for artwork
« on: March 27, 2017, 06:29:55 PM »
The only way to assign artwork to radio stations is by linking to the file.

I'd like to request the ability to use relative path for portable installations of MusicBee.

Perhaps the ability to edit the path and change it to something like %musicbee%\Radio\CHOI Radio X.png (in my case)

I don't know if it's normal, but when I mouse over the taskbar preview of MusicBee, it makes MusicBee flicker. Not a big deal, really, but I thought I'd report it in case it could be easily fixed.

See

Latest patch: 3.1.6294

The status bar, as it is called, is a UI element that is not really necessary with MusicBee and could really just be a panel of its own.
So I suggest we get rid of the status bar and make it a more configurable panel of its own. One that can be placed anywhere, not only at the bottom.
It's mostly empty space with very little information that takes little space on the Y axis, but still requires 100% on the X axis.

In my case, the only element I need from the status bar is the progress information on the left when I sync with a device or rescan my library.

The few elements we have in the status bar right now could actually have their own variables. Playlist duration, queue time, etc, are hardcoded but could be variables. That way, we could use them in other panels, or custom tags.

As for the sync/scan progress element, it'd be nice to have a live progression of what it's doing, in %, or the working directory+file.

Using the lastest 3.1 patch version (3.1.6286), when you press ALT, the application menu opens right away. I believe the normal behaviour should be the menu to open on press release and not simply on press.
Keeping the ALT key pressed results in the menu opening/closing/opening/closing/opening/etc... really fast.
Using ALT+TAB results in MusicBee menu staying opened.

MusicBee Wishlist / Wifi sync: FTP option
« on: March 18, 2017, 07:29:21 PM »
I know it's a long shot and would, I think, require too much coding, but I'll ask anyway..

Right now, syncing over wifi requires 3rd party apps and drive space.

My library is in FLAC and when I sync, I transcode to MP3 on the fly. But with syncing over wifi right now, to fill my 200GB microSD card on my portable device, MusicBee will transcode everything (200GB) to a folder, then the 3rd party app will sync with my portable device.

If FTP was an option, then MusicBee would be able to transcode on the fly and not take that 200GB extra space. Syncing over wifi would be time proof since with each new device that comes out, the more space they have. Say a year from now we have devices that have 500GB of space, that's 500GB of space we would need on the virtual device folder.

Portable Devices / Wifi sync with BitTorrent Sync..?
« on: March 16, 2017, 11:31:14 PM »
I'd like some clarifications on this.. Can anyone tell me what the syncing process actually is?
Does MusicBee transfer all the files to the virtual device folder, then BitTorrent Sync transfers everything to the phone?

I'd like to know because it's my only hope but if this is indeed the case, then it's a no go since all my library is in FLAC and i need MusicBee to convert to MP3 first, and everything goes to an almost full 200GB microSD card. That means the virtual drive folder would permanently be occupied with ~200GB of MP3, OR that ~200GB would be rewritten each time I sync.

MusicBee Wishlist / Ability to add elements to panel splitter

It'd be nice to be able to add elements such as buttons to the panel splitter.

Questions / DSP Settings: Skip Silence (..within a track). Not working.
« on: February 21, 2017, 05:38:44 AM »
I can't get this to work. I've tried with a few tracks that have a hidden track at the end and nope, not working. I've made my own track with a silence period in Audacity in case the (four) tracks I was using had high frequency "inaudible" audio that MB would see as "normal" audio but got the same results.
"Skip Silence" is ticked and no matter what, the whole silence is there, playing..
Am I missing something?

Not a big deal, but it'd be a nice touch to have an image of the actual device connected instead of the iPod one.

And while we're at it, the battery % of the device (and space capacity / free space) always stays the same. It takes the battery and capacity status when the device is connected, it doesn't update. It'd be nice if it could reflect the live status of the device ;)

Hi.
So, I have MusicBee set to convert my FLAC files to MP3 when I sync to my Android device, with the ReplayGain (track) option ticked as well, but when I look at the tags in the converted files, there's no ReplayGain tags at all.
I use MusicBee to add the ReplayGain info in my FLAC files, I don't understand why it is not transferred to the MP3 files.. anyone?
