I want to keep track to the tracks I listened to and deleted (because I didn't like them).
My plugin Ghost Tracks did just that, although with a major  unsolved problem (Nr 2 below).

My question now is: Is it possible today with Musicbee itself to:

1.  Keep a list of deleted tracks ?
--- For now I only see making an external playlist before deleting them
___ Ghost Tracks had its own list after deleting tracks automatically

2. Searching for ALL music in your library AND in these deleted tracks? *
--- Don't think so, but maybe you guys know something?
___ MB Interface was not ready for that to be able to program that in Ghost Tracks

* To see if I already listened to tracks before buying new ones. You see, I am a music freak, listening to soooo many different music, but my memory can't keep track of all the music I ever listened to, not even what's in my library.

Thank you

Muscibee 3.4.7495

When I make an autoplaylist with the "Last played" field to "has a value", tracks of which "last played" are "Unknown" 'check via file-properties) still pop up. When I do the reverse "has no value", no tracks at all pop up (although I have both unknown and known last played values when I check file-properties)!

Bug Reports / Musicbee doesn't start (since previous latest update?)
« on: December 14, 2017, 02:24:45 PM »
For some weeks I haven't been able to start Musicbee. I ignored it until today.
This may have been happening since the previous update, but I'm not sure.
- So, I updated to the latest update, but no improvement. Still can't start.
Strange thing is, it doesn't even come up shortly on a process monitor.. (Or the monitor misses it because it crashes quite fast?)
- I uninstalled MB and installed the official release again. After filling in the first required options, it started fine.
Then I updated with the latest update (MusicBee_Setup_3_1_6512.exe), and it happens again. Refuses to start.

This is the only line in Error Log in %appdata%:

Quote
14/12/2017 14:11:02 - C:\Users\r_u_b\Music\Music\:Thread was being aborted.
(That's my music folder with the music files. The one I gave after reinstalling for scanning, though I pressed cancel as to scan later.)

Not sure how I can provide more information.
Thanks for any help.

MusicBee API / sqlite3.dll - How to target this library in .NET?
« on: October 18, 2017, 08:20:21 PM »
After a long, long time, I'm trying to make my Ghost Tracks plugin to work again.
Now I've noted a very big startup issue.
In the past, to be able to use sqlite functions for my plugin's sqlite database, I used the dll's that were delivered with MusicBee itself (C:\Program Files (x86)\MusicBee\System.Data.SQLite.dll). I called them via "System.Data.SQLite" and it worked. But these dll's are now gone. The only relevant dll that I can see in Muscbee, is "C:\Program Files (x86)\MusicBee\sqlite3.dll". But I'm guessing this is not "System.Data.SQLite", but some thin wrapper. I'm not sure if I can use that one nor how.
I'm not even sure if it's used inside the code of Musicbee itself or if it's indirectly used by some other (Microsoft or not) libraries and somehow automated (in the IDE or elsewhere).

The other option, namely delivering my own sqlite dll's, is probably also not good, since for one thing, people might have different processors and the X86 or 64b .NET might be or not installed and since there is no setup for a plugin, there is no way to target the correct library.

Maybe I can use other storage types, but prefer to use the same kind that Musicbee does and also one that it's accessible and searchable fast enough inside and outside Musicbee. I'm guessing a flat csv file is way to slow for searching 10K entries with different fields..

(P.S. I'm using Nant in combination with Eclipse to develop in .NET)

All help appreciated! Thank you.

MusicBee Wishlist / Now Playing Edit Tags Assistant / Standalone / Popup
« on: October 18, 2017, 06:32:15 PM »
It would be nice that I could press a global hotkey when Musicbee's window is not visible (background or minimized), that would popup the "Edit Tags" window So, as a standalone window popping up above my current active window and without MB window itself popping up. I'm not sure if "standalone" is the exact term, but like some other windows in MB can do, like the "Now Playing Assistant" and "..Notification". Modeless dialog?

Also, the Now Playing track should be selected for this tag edit window Otherwise you might be editing tracks you are not aware of (selected in one or the other panel you can't see at the moment)..

Bug Reports / NullReferenceException while switching auto-playlist tabs
« on: February 14, 2016, 07:18:13 PM »
I get a persistent bug after a while when switching a lot between Auto-Playlists (while managing my music as in moving files, editing tags, ...).
I do this by switching the tabs of several auto-playlists.
Once I get the error (see below) one of the tabs of the auto-playlists changes to just "Music", becomes empty and is stuck. I think one or both of the tab ánd the auto-playlist (in another or new tab) are stuck forever until restarting.

MB 3.0.5874
Windows 10
Autoplaylist = just all files from a certain (outside library) folder (with one or more filters)

MusicBee Wishlist / Search in different nodes (built-in and plugin nodes)
« on: January 10, 2016, 03:10:15 PM »
I would LOVE (and it would save me a lot of time) if I could search the following at the same time (so with "one" search and in one result view):

- different built-in nodes
E.g. auto-playlists, From internet (stations only of course), ..

- Plugin generated nodes (e.g. in Ghost Tracks plugin)

MusicBee Wishlist / Hotkey for custom actions / tags
« on: January 07, 2016, 06:32:53 PM »
I'd like to do the specific following, but my request is more general than asked for general use, of course:
Create hotkeys that would set my tempo or mood to one of six choices.
E.g. Define an action "Set mood to Wild", then make hotkey to "Set mood to Wild".

Any chance for this soon?

Questions / Thank you for the remap function!
« on: August 05, 2015, 04:46:29 PM »
It does not always have to be a help or feature request, does it?

So, THANK YOU for the remap function, Steven! You just saved my life. :-)

I don't want to be rude, but the matter crossed my mind. So to keep it respectful, I'll keep it short:
Steven, I respect your decision to keep you source closed, but could you put in your will that the source can be opened after you...you know...left our sphere.  :-\
Just in case?

P.S. I think this matter has nót been addressed before. I read the closed topic about open source. This point was never addressed, unless my searching skills are mediocre. In that case, I'm sorry.

And Steven, I hope you can forgive my concern if I stepped on your or your friends' or family's toes.

I'm not sure if this is a bug or something I can prevent manually, though I tried finding it myself.  But still, please advice.

My MB library and my music tracks all sit in certain folders under D:\Users on my D drive (separate hard disk). And my users folder, C:\Users is nothing more than a symbolic link to D:\Users. (For Windows performance, if anyone is interested why.  And I can't get easily get rid of it.)

Now, although in any settings with paths that I can find in MB, I always put "D:\Users\....\Music", MB automatically adds a ton of double tracks which are pointed towards "C:\Users\...\Music".  It even looks like not all tracks are doubled, though a lot.
I know MB doesn't have to realize that they are exactly the same files, but I never asked MB to check any tracks in C in the first place. Why is she checking and adding files from C?

Once in other words for clearness: (Almost?) every track with a (correct) path to the D music folder, has a double track in MB which path points to the same folder but on C. (Which is exactly the same file.)

How can I prevent MB from doing this (in a hidden setting maybe?)? And if not, can Steven maybe & pretty please fix this? (Willing to pay for it.  No offense meant if that is the case with this offer.)

Thanks a lot in advance to anyone.

Questions / Order by "play count per month", possible?
« on: November 23, 2014, 06:55:51 PM »
I thought this would be possible by creating a virtual tag from "Play count" and "Last played", but not only do I think that I don't have the right functions, I can only use real tags in virtual tags (and these are just properties).

So, anyone an idea if this is possible yet somehow in MusicBee today?

Underlying problem: As well ordering by "play count" as "last played" by itself always gives problems since your library is not a constant thing during as time goes on.

I used to have a lot of useful links in the left panel under a node -what I think was called- Internet.
I don't use it that often. It depends on my latest music-listening mood. (The way I listen to music.)
But, now I checked and I don't find it there anymore. I guess it has been replaced with "Services" in some update, right?  If so, where can I find my manually added internet links back from before?  They were the only place I kept them and very useful from time to time, but I can't find them back.
Please advise! Thanks!

Questions / Lost 2000 mood and tempo tags!
« on: June 12, 2014, 07:54:31 PM »
While I was tagging my music library during listening hours, something I do for 10 years now, I noticed THAT ALL MY Mood & Tempo tags are gone!
10 years down the drain!
I'm so sad now that I can't really put any effort into finding the cause, but I'm just reporting there is something very wrong with Musicbee.  I never use any mass tag editing or addons, but still this happened.
<b>(EDIT: At least not recently, but I did some spelling correcting once at least)</b>

Maybe when I have cried enough, I will try to find the cause.

(I am not accusing here, just sharing my feelings and reporting a probable serious issue with MB.)
