Questions / Editing Dynamic Playlist to New Mapped Nas

So got a new Nas and trying to figure out how to change the drive letter in all my dynamic playlists to the location of the new Nas. Old one was S:/ and new one is X:/.
Tried manually doing it through wordpad and notepad but seems to corrupt the file.

Any suggestions?

Freezing going on for quite a few months, using 3.1.6466.

EDIT Noticed a few others having this freezing type problem. Only antivirus is Windows Defender. Might try 3.0 to see if still get the problem.

MusicBee Wishlist / Navigating Drop-down Albums with Artist View

When using artist view where an artist has multiple albums that go beyond the display area, you are presented with forward and backward buttons to scroll to the right to display the other albums.

1. Instead of just displaying one row of the albums and having to click the buttons to scroll undisplayed abums, why not have further rows to display all the artist's albums on the screen?

2. If not feasible, would be great if there was some way of clicking and holding down the left mouse button just above any of the albums and using the middle mouse button to scroll along the albums.

Questions / Editing MBP Playlists Problem

File paths have changed for a lot of my albums after doing a folder cleanup. I've tried editing my MBP playlists in notepad to batch change the folder directory locations but MB didn't recognise the newly saved MBP playlist. So I tried Wordpad instead to edit the playlist and while MB did recognise the playlist this time, my files were still reported as missing when trying the play them.

Any ideas on how one can edit MBP playlists to change directory locations for files? I'd rather avoid going through every single file within MB one by one to locate them!

Bug Reports / File Organiser Crash

When I try to manually re-organise files via ctrl-R, it starts to hang when reorganising the first file. Happens nearly all the time.
Not sure exactly when this started but been happening for the last few patches (including 10).

I still had my old Musicbee3.exe beta in the MB directory and when using that, file reorganisation performs without any problem.

Questions / Sorting By Date Added / Modified Problem

Having difficulty getting albums to sort by when I added them to my library.

For example, I've created a normal non-dynamic playlist to which I drag and drop new albums I've bought (I do this to standardize metadata first before adding them to my library). I use Album & Tracks and Album Covers as the viewing option. I have sort enabled for Date Modified and no grouping. However, albums are not being properly sorted by Date Added or Modified. It's almost like there's some other sort order going on first which which subsequently uses the date added. Albums for me are sorted a bit like this:

Album 1 June 10
Album 2 June 09
Album 3 June 08
Album 4 June 10
Album 5 June 09

Assume I'm missing something obvious here?

Is there any way to restrict files within the computer tab to audio only?

It's picking up video files as well as audio & I'd love to be able to restrict it to only audio files.

Questions / Musicbee Wiidget

Anyone ever been able to get musicbee working with Xwidget? The music settings give a load of compatible music apps but no sign of musicbee!

If not, any good widget recommendations? Trying to get one on the taskbar so I can play and pause as needed.

Questions / Musicbee 3 Questions!

A few questions for you experts!

1. Column browser when used vertically has a restriction on how far you can pull it to the right. Version 2.5 doesn't have this issue. I use 3-4 fields in column browser so things are pretty squashed! Am I doing something wrong here or is this intentional?

2. Is there any way to move the thumbnail browser to the right of the column browser? It defaults to the left.

3. Column browser field settings are global and apply to all tabs, is it possible to set different column fields for different tabs? eg One tab is given 1-2 column browser fields while 2nd tab has 4?

Questions / Collumn Browser & Multiple Tabs

I've started creating mutiple tabs to get different ways to interact with and view my music. In particular, alternating between artwork, album and tracks etc.

Noticed that Musicbee will remember if I chose the album and track or artwork views for each tab but that most of the other settings, like the column browser applies to every tab. This can be convenient but at the same time, I'd love to be able to customize some of these for each tab, eg vertical column browser for one tab and horizontal for another etc. Would also be handy if column browser field settings were also remembered for each tab.


Anyhow, hope this makes some sense!

Questions / Last Played Tag Question!

Can someone tell me if there's an issue with the Last Played tag as it doesn't seem to be showing all songs I've played recently.

I've created a playlist to show last played songs in the last 1 days. But it only shows say 3-4 songs when I've played say 30.

Questions / Weird Tagging Behaviour (2.5)

So Musicbee (Ver 2.5) seems to be doing some weird things automatically to tags I have painstakingly worked on.

Specifically, it seems to be adding a colon to existing tags in various situations. For example, if album artist is different to the artist, when you rescan the music files, it automatically adds the artist to whatever I had for album artist and separates them with a colon. Why it is doing this automatically I have no idea! It's a nightmare especially for compilations.

Also, Musicbee does the same for genre tags which have brackets eg Pop (Rock) when scanned becomes Pop: Rock.


Is there a setting to avoid this?

Questions / Moving folders in Musicbee

Wanted to reorganise all my music folders as they've gotten a bit messy.

Been using the option "Organise files" for many albums which are well tagged.... but what I'm looking for here is simply a bulk move of hundreds of folders from certain directories whilst maintaining the folder structures of the migrated folders. If I do this within windows and not musicbee, I will lose the source pathway for all my playlists.

Any ideas?

Questions / Windows Desktop MusicBee Gadget

Anyone know if there are any MusicBee desktop sidebar gadgets at all?

Not talking about sidebars within the player but on the Windows desktop eg Basic controls while the player is minimised. I know I can get controls above the icon in the Windows taskbar but would be nice to have an actual gadget for rapid pausing/next track etc
