Hi guys, is there any possibility to use MusicBee as a powerful administrator for music streaming services (like Deezer, Spotify etc.).

As you know you can copy easily the URL for specific tracks from Deezer / Spotify to use them for external playlists - assuming of course you have an account on those streaming services.
Usually Deezer / Spotify are providing their own platforms to manage your music library and your private playlists - but the functionality is very basic and in comparison to MusicBee absolutely poor (no taggings, no auto playlists etc.).
So finally MusicBee could be the best tool for that, in case it would be possible to address directly via URL the tracks on Deezer / Spotify.

Furthermore both "music worlds" could be maintained then from one platform only - the mp3 music stored on your own device and the streamed music via Deezer / Spotify. Are there any plans for that in the future ?

Kind regards

Beyond my MP3 files stored on my PC I am also using Deezer for music streaming and to discover new music.
Deezer itself can provide specific URLs for each song to make Deezer playlists or to share those music files with friends etc.

Is there any possibility to embed those URLs into the MusicBee library ?
So I would be able to combine my own MP3 music with the streaming music from the Web
- to bring them together in mixed playlists
- to tag also the URL files with additional information (genre, composer etc.) which I can't do in Deezer
- to rate also the Deezer songs etc.

The combination of both worlds (stored music and streamed music) in one single audio player like MB would be very interesting, and I am sure that there is a solution in place which I am not aware of.

Thx, Rachmaninoff

Questions / Musicbee and Sonos System - how to connect ?
« on: January 10, 2015, 02:16:01 PM »
Hi Musicbee fans,
I am using Musicbee since several months now - and today I tried to connect the Musicbee player directly with my new Sonos System (Play5 speakers) - Sonos works properly with Deezer and other Internet radios via "Sonos Controller", so the hardware seems to be installed correctly.

Nevertheless - I didn't get any direct connection with Musicbee - except via the "Sonos Controller", which has access to my music directory.
Is there any way to play Musicbee tracks and playlists without the Sonos tool ?

Perhaps I have to change my player setting - or my audio settings in Windows 7 - or I have to install an additional plug-in ?
I don't know - any help for me - thx in advance.

I am wondering that this forum has not any thread referring to Airfoil - either there are no problems with this or noone uses this tool. However, I am coming from iTunes with WLAN sound to Airport Express (which was perfect), and since I switched over to Musicbee I had to think about another solution - so the new sound process is now Windows 7 + Musicbee + Airfoil with purchased license + AE.
I would suppose this might be a very common configuration.

The first 2 days the sound was terrible - totally distorted with annoying clicks. I found out that this noise had nothing to do with the Airport Express - it was even there when I directly connected my computer with a headphone - with Airfoil the clicks were there - without Airfoil there were gone.

It took me a while to detect a popup menu within Windows / System / Sound to downsize the audio manually to 16 Bit, 44100 Hz - which is ok for me, but perhaps it might be not the best sound to gain. I guess, iTunes did this downsizing automatically, nevertheless I am still convinced, that iTunes + AE had a more brillant and "deeper" sound than MB + Airfoil + AE.

What are your experiences and what is your preferred sound configuration with Windows 7 + MB + Airfoil + AE ?

Thx for your replies

Hi, I switched some days ago from iTunes to MB and I am really impressed to find many things here I ever searched for - it makes real fun to work with Musicbee.
Nevertheless one topic seems to be still open for me - the bundling of two or more sequential tracks. I didn't found something comparable in the Search-Function - the nearest hit might be around the checkmark "Keep album tracks in sequence when shuffling" - but I tried it, and it seems to be something else ... - at least this function doesn't do I am asking for.
However - everyone knows several pairs of tracks on CDs, which are linked together seemlessly - quite often in classical music. In random mode it is often annoying, when the following song is cut off and another track is chosen. I think there should be a solution for those pairs to bind them together, even when the random mode is chosen. For instance the randomizer choose track 1 of a pair, then MB should recognize with an activated checkmark , that the following track 2 has also to be played directly after it - and when both tracks are played, the randomized selection will continue.
I think, this checkmark "Track only in combination with the following track even in random mode" should be added in the tagging section - what do you think about that.

Greetings from Germany and many thanks for your work here
