Questions / The "Artist" tag is being concatenated into "Album Artist"
« on: March 18, 2017, 10:55:11 PM »
On albums where the Artist and Album Artist are different, MB is putting them together in the Album Artist tag, like this...

ID3 tag:
ARTIST: Jim Smith
ALBUM ARTIST: Various Artists

MusicBee:
ARTIST: Jim Smith
ALBUM ARTIST: Dexter Gordon; Various Artists

This causes a "Jim Smith" entry to appear in my Album Artists list, and I really don't want that. Is there a way to make MB stop doing this?

thanks!

Many albums will only show the first X tracks (6 in my case) and you can expand the album to show the rest. If you double-click the album art without expanding the track list, only the displayed tracks are queued. If you expand the list and then double-click, all tracks are queued. This is definitely new in 3.0, as I just upgraded today and this is the first time I've seen it.

UPDATE: As we've discovered, this only happens with the last album in a list.

Questions / MusicBee not finding all files on scan
« on: February 23, 2014, 06:31:18 AM »
MusicBee appears not to be finding many files on a scan. In some cases it's missing entire albums, in others it's missing certain tracks within an album. I recently switched to MB from Winamp, and that app had no trouble adding these files to the library on an autoscan. (I offer that only as indication that there appears to be nothing wrong with the files.)

I tried rescanning, no effect.  I tried searching on one of the affected artists as well, and did not see them filed under something else.  I was able to drag missing files (and entire albums) into the library window from Windows Explorer, and it appears to have stuck. So it is able to add these files to the library - further indication that there's nothing wrong with the files - it just doesn't see them on a scan.

I wouldn't mind dragging in folders and files it hasn't found, but I have no way to know what files are missing.  Any suggestions?

thanks,
ron
