"Latest version" tells us nothing.
What version of MB are you using? (Help > About)
How was MB installed? (Installer, Portable, Store)

This sounds vaguely familiar and I think Steven addressed it recently. I suggest patching to the latest version. See my signature.

Whoops, I meant version 3.3.7491 by latest version, should have clarified. Installed with the standard installer. I think it could just be something simple I'm overlooking, but I can't figure it out. I tried the patch, see below.

Do you have Preferences/ Now Playing/ playback/ highlight playing track in main panel set to Select Track?

Yes, but just like the other two things I mentioned, it only works when I manually select a track first, so I have to interact with musicbee. When starting up music bee, whatever track was playing when musicbee shutdown will be highlighted when music be opens up, but if I hit 'next track' on my keyboard, it will just keep that same track highlighted, after it's over and the shuffle has picked a new song. I could also probably do a quick video of what I'm talking about, but I think you guys get it. The program is requiring me to manually select a track for features/settings to start working properly.

Both replies much appreciated! I'm sure I can get it figured out. The 3.4 patch did not fix it, but it still had all my settings/panels set up the same as before. I'll try and wipe my settings/config, or just uninstall and reinstall.

edit: Working good after a fresh install where I didn't load up past settings, hopefully will continue to work fine. So it was just something to do with my previous settings it seems, but I'm not sure what would cause that. Possibly because I imported settings from a much older version (2.1 I think). I was able to import my panel arrangement file without any problems, though.

edit2: I imported settings from an old file again and it's still working as it should. I don't know where I went wrong last time, but everything seems to be in working order now. I think it had something to do with the Playlist tab or Playlist selection...I don't know what exactly. Thanks again, I'll post back if I run into any other issues, but everything is working as it should for now.

Hey guys. Love MusicBee! I've run into very few issues over the last 8 years or so. After I updated musicbee recently (latest version) and am having a couple issues, which are probably somewhat simple to figure out. Bare with me as things like this are a bit hard to describe. Usually I open up the program and use keyboard hotkeys to play/pause/next track etc, those all work fine, but the playlist/program does not automatically scroll to the the playing track, it just stays put viewing whatever song musicbee opened to, but if I go into the program and double click a track to start playing, then it will begin to show/scroll to the playing track on the playlist as it should, but won't do it unless I manually select a track. The same goes for the 'Goto Playing Track at Source' hotkey, it will not work (will not take me to the playing track on the playlist) unless I first manually select a track on the playlist first, then everything works as it should. I just want to have musicbee startup and have those things happen without having to select a track manually. I also imported settings/layout from a pretty old music bee version, so that might be causing the hold up. Any ideas? Thanks!

Questions / is there a way to force the order of tracks on a playlist?
« on: March 14, 2015, 08:32:26 AM »
Hiya. Been a long time MusicBee user now, I still don't know most of what it does!

Some tracks are out of order on my playlist and I don't know how to get them in order. The playlist is sorted by artist name, which is how I like it, but some tracks are slightly out of order. I tried changing the track number in the info, but they still don't line up. Is there anyway I can manually reorder the playlist while generally keeping it alphabetical? Thanks!

Questions / Re: Album art size keeps changing in Music Bee
« on: August 12, 2014, 03:26:01 AM »
Sure thing. Sorry, it's hard to describe.

Here's what my normal MB player looks like, the size and everything I like: http://i.imgur.com/89KL5DC.png

but after coming back from a program that runs is a lower resolution, it looks glitched like this: http://i.imgur.com/Pig2ga8.png

then after restarting MB, the glitchy window is fixed but the album art size has is still shrunken down: http://i.imgur.com/VPWQVDj.png

I can keep fixing it manually (by doing like you said in the layout config panel, then restarting), it's not the worst problem ever, it's just annoying to have to keep fixing it. Thanks!

thanks for the reply!

I had seen those options before but they actually have no affect on the size of the displayed album art (I know they certainly are supposed to). I could change the px to any size (even 999) and it still stays the exact size it is in that picture above. I don't know how it got so messed up like this, but it seems unfixable. I need to do something like revert all default settings and hope that works. I'm afraid it will just happen again even if I do that though, I need the music bee player to stop adjusting to different resolutions of applications I run and not reverting back. Also, player looks like this now: http://i.imgur.com/Pig2ga8.png :-\ - like I said it it keeps doing weird things when it tries to match the resolution of other applications I run.

Questions / Album art size keeps changing in Music Bee
« on: August 04, 2014, 02:45:51 AM »
Heya. I open various applications here and there that change desktop resolution. Unfortunately, Musicbee changes along with the resolution, and doesn't go back to normal when I go back to my default resolution :( - it's pretty annoying. Musicbee still looks mostly normal, it's the "track information" panel that changes a lot. The displayed album art size goes up and down. For a while it was displaying album art full size, and now it's displaying it in as a small size (shown here: http://i.imgur.com/VPWQVDj.png). I think by default musicbee displays album art at around 300x300 in the player (all my album art files are at least 600x600). I tried going back to my "custom view", but it didn't fix it.

How can I get the size of the displayed album art back to normal? Thanks.

MusicBee Wishlist / Karoke type lyric scrolling
« on: July 17, 2014, 05:14:35 AM »
Would be really cool if Musicbee was able to have karoke type scrolling for lyrics. I know ".lrc" files have that capability built in. I know Minilyrics does this, but I don't know what sources they get their .lrc files from. I suppose buying minilyrics would be the easiest way to go, but it's 20 bucks, and I'm mega cheap. Any chance Musicbee could get some type of automatic lyric scrolling? If not, that's fine, just thought I'd suggest it. Thanks.

MusicBee Wishlist / Option for finding different 'artist pictures'
« on: May 07, 2014, 01:58:07 AM »
I like the Artist Picture feature in theater mode. Though I don't always like the first picture of the band/artist that comes up. It would be cool to have the option to go forward and back through different pictures of the band/artist so you could scroll through images of the artist until you find one that you like, instead of having to use whatever comes up first.

MusicBee fetches high quality pictures of artists from these sites:

Questions / Re: Artist Pictures
« on: May 06, 2014, 12:25:34 PM »
This is a cool feature indeed! The only thing I want is an option to "try next artist picture", in which case it would go to the next listed picture of the artist/band. That way if you don't like the default picture of the band, you can keep fetching a different image until you find one you like, and then once you got an image of the artist you like, it would save as the default photo for that band. Right now we're kinda forced to use the first picture of the artist that comes up. I guess there's a way to manually change it, but that seems needlessly complicated...or maybe it's not too hard, I don't know. Either way, a feature to try a different artist picture would be cool :) - maybe just a forward/back button to scroll through pictures of the artist/band.

I don't think you have gotten enough credit for this beautiful theme. Very nice! :)

MusicBee Wishlist / Anchored window for Lyrics
« on: February 07, 2014, 04:59:18 PM »
Hey! Still loving MusicBee. I was hoping Musicbee could get an option for an anchored lyrics window on the side. The option for the floating lyrics is cool, but it's not attached to the main window, so when you move around the main Musicbee window, the lyrics box doesn't move with it.

Would like a separate window/panel here that locks to the musicbee player: http://i.imgur.com/B7ebXAC.png

I know I could also have the lyrics show under the album art, but then I have to expand the size of musicbee a lot to see them there. Sorry if I explained things badly. Thanks!

MusicBee Wishlist / Hotkeys for different equaliser presets
« on: February 07, 2014, 04:41:09 PM »
Hiya! I don't know if MusicBee is still in any kind of development or not but here's a wish anyways:

I would really like to be able to assign hotkeys to enable different presets in the equaliser/DPS settings. I have two presets I like a lot and depending on what kind of song is playing, I like to change it back and forth. But, it's kind of a hassle to have to manually go into the EQ and change the preset for every other track. So, in the Hotkeys window I would like to be able to set CTRL+B to enable the preset with heavier Bass, and CTRL+T for a more treble based preset, for example.

If there is any way to do this now, please let me know!
