MusicBee Wishlist / Re: Custom Album Sorting in Artists View
« on: March 12, 2023, 07:55:34 PM »
Resurrecting an old thread.  This wishlist item would also be beneficial for me.  I'd love to be able to sort the albums by my sub-grouping (Studio Albums, Singles & EPs, Live Albums, etc.).  We're still restricted to three sort options: By Title, By Year (desc), By Year (asc).

Could have something to do with .net. Check the version running on your machine and update it, if necessary.
I'm currently running on the latest version, 4.5.1.  I am currently using the technical preview for Windows 10, though.  That shouldn't be causing songs to queue multiple times though ...

I'm still experiencing this issue which is becoming incredibly annoying.  You can't listen to a set of songs without the songs repeating themselves multiple times before moving onto the next track, which repeats itself multiple times.

The only error I can find in the error log is the following, but I"m not sure if it is related.

2/14/2015 9:43:52 PM - 6.2.9200.0 - 2.5.5507.32628 - Microsoft.VisualBasic.ApplicationServices.CantStartSingleInstanceException: This single-instance application could not connect to the original instance.

Questions / Song Queues Multiple Times
« on: February 15, 2015, 11:43:01 PM »
I'm experiencing an issue that just started a few days ago.  Whenever I double-click on a song to play it, it queues up three times (ie: I have to double-click the next song I want to play three times before it'll actually play).  If I select "queue next" as opposed to double-clicking the song, it plays only once.  I noticed the problem after upgrading to the new version 2.5 release candidate (I had been using earlier versions of 2.5 previously).  I just downloaded version 2.5.5523 and am still experiencing the problem.  Any suggestions?

Skins / Re: Bitmap based skins

I was hoping to modify the colors of the skin I use (SkbeeLite), but I'm not sure how to open the .xmlc file.  Looking through the skinning guide and the forum, it appears that xmlc is a bitmap skin?  Is there a program available to easily open these files and make quick color edits?

Hey guys, sorry about the REALLY long delay in updating this.  My senior year of college became really busy, and I didn't have the time to play around with MusicBee code.  But now that I'm finally graduated, I've been able to fool around with it.

Here is an updated version using the anchors and docks.  For anyone not using a 1920x1080 screen, can you please let me know if it looks okay?  I've also defaulted the right-hand column to show the song's lyrics.  Clicking the name of the album currently playing on the bottom left of the screen changes the right-hand column to display the album's tracks like before.  Clicking on the name of the song currently playing returns the right-hand column to the show song's lyrics.

The player bar in the top left corner shown in the screenshot is only visible when you move your mouse.  It disappears after a few seconds.

MusicBee Wishlist / Re: Expandable View in the Artwork layout
« on: May 04, 2014, 08:17:33 PM »
is the picture embeded or an external file - if its an external file could you PM me a link to the picture, otherwise a link to the music file
It won't let me right click on the album at all to display the properties to see if it's embedded or just linked from the default folder.jpg.  As soon as I left or right click on the album, I get the error message.
http://imageshack.com/a/img843/1641/qnuh.jpg

EDIT:  Appears to be embedded as there is not folder.jpg in the album folder in Windows Explorer.

Unrelated, is there a way to choose which album cover is displayed for the artist when everything is grouped by artist?  At present, it defaults to the cover of the first album when listed in alphabetical order.

When grouping by album in artwork view, I don't experience any problems ... however I'm receiving the following error when grouping by artist.
does the artist have only one album or multiple albums and is it when you click on an artist or on an album of the artist?

edit:
could you run this debug version (unzip and replace musicbee.exe). If you check the error log (help/ support/ view error log) it will have info for me to help figure out what went wrong when the error happens

http://www.mediafire.com/download/yjijmzysq8nl1bs/MusicBeeDebug.zip

This happens with artists with only one album when clicking on the artist.  I've noticed it only seems to occur for one particular album which is a compilation (one album artist but various artists within the album).

TheaterMode / Re: Artwork Showcase

Can anyone enlighten me how to set the widths and heights as dynamic variables that adjust to the user's monitor size so that this TheaterMode design can be used by those without a 1920x1080 monitor?

Ok, so please upload it, when you finished your skin. i like it very much. great work!
Bugs have been fixed.  I've created a thread with a download link for my TheaterMode view.

TheaterMode / Artwork Showcase
« on: October 31, 2013, 12:17:05 AM »
Here is a Theater Mode design that I've been working on for a while now.  After some positive feedback, I've decided to post it here to share with all of you.  I call it Artwork Showcase as it showcases artist and album artwork within a clean, professional-looking design.  It's based on Alexis's Artist Gallery view and features a sidebar with a working Now Playing album tracklist as well as a preview of the next song in the queue.  Let me know what you guys think and what improvements you would make.  Hope you like it!

XML File download: (10/31/13)

Many thanks to Steven and redwing for their help in working out some of the bugs.

UPDATED XML File: (7/20/14)

Plugins / Re: Theater Mode Plugin

Yes, that happened to me as well with another plugin a while ago. I don't know why but that creates a problem. Anyway glad you sorted it out!
Thanks for your help!  I really appreciate it!

Are you sure you have the latest dll file under Plugins folder?
Okay, I think I have the problem.  I have the latest dll file; however, there was an older version also in the folder.  After deleting the old file, the test xml file we just made worked.  And so does my Artist Showcase xml file.  Not sure why MusicBee was reading the old dll file when it had a name other than the default dll file.
