Portable Devices / Re: Wifi android device synching
« on: August 27, 2023, 09:17:04 AM »
Just wanted to check in and mention that the Wifi Sync appears to fail if a filename contains an emoji. I was trying to sync a playlist that contained the track below, but the sync would keep failing before the filename could appear in the progress updated during the sync mode on the Wifi Sync app.

It's strange because I have a few other songs that contain emoji that seem to sync fine. Not sure if there's something in particular about this one.

Bug Reports / Re: Artwork Downloader Issues in Inbox

Gotcha, makes sense! I'll have to play around in that section of settings, thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

The reason I had put this under Bug Reports is that the default Artwork settings don't play nice with files in the Inbox, but your explanation makes sense.

MusicBee Wishlist / Allow Sort Fields in Search Function
« on: September 12, 2022, 07:36:13 PM »
I am using Win 10 and MusicBee 3.5.8150

When I switched to MusicBee, I was very glad that I only had to apply the sort name once, and then all tracks by that artist were sorted by the new name, but I soon realized that I couldn't search for the sort name with the search function. Only the tracks where I specifically entered the sort name showed up when searching for the sort name.

I know there is a list of applied sort names in settings, and I can create an Auto-Playlist to see every track that actually has a Sort Name change, but it's a pain to track which files would still need a manually-entered sort name to function like I was expecting the search to, especially across a large library.

Bug Reports / Artwork Downloader Issues in Inbox

I noticed that, when I change the album name of music files after adding them to the inbox, it doesn't change the temp folder that the files are kept in, and the Artwork Downloader applies the new artwork to the entire folder (the album as added, before changing some album names), rather than just the applicable album. I suppose this is because the artwork system functions at a folder level.

I haven't tested whether converting the files to my preferred codec/bitrate AFTER changing the album name places them in a new temp folder in the inbox. For now, I have been waiting until I send the files to my library before running the Artwork Downloader, but I would prefer to finish prettying up the files in the inbox.
