Questions / Re: Menu button at top- direct to VIEW settings?
« on: October 18, 2023, 02:34:43 PM »
🤔 Of course there are solutions.

You can configure the toolbar by right-clicking the arrange panels icon or by navigating to Preferences > Layout (1) > Header bar > command buttons.
Then you decide where you want these (text) buttons to be displayed, either caption bar or tabs bar.

You can also open the mini player by double-clicking the album cover or an empty area within the main player controls panel.

Bug Reports / Hidden Last.fm Button Appears Below Top Panel Player
« on: October 14, 2023, 06:16:25 PM »
This happens when you display the tabs below the caption bar when the player is positioned at the top. Let me know if you need more information. 3.5.8683.

This happened to me throughout the years as well, but it's really a minor issue.

However, I might still suggest the options to add a "Show Volume Slider" and a "Show Play Duration" to the player controls panel for more customizing options. I'd use them, especially the latter option, for aesthetic reasons since the font size of the duration can't be changed on the fly ((hovering) the progress or wavebar as an indicator is enough in most cases).

Bug Reports / Wavebar in Bottom Panel Not Clickable When Maximized
« on: October 07, 2023, 04:35:53 PM »
Once I hover over the wavebar positioned at the bottom, the tooltip starts to blink and doesn't react to the mouse click, making the wavebar unresponsive. I noticed that this happens when the bottom part of the mouse cursor makes contact with the taskbar while trying to click; so this mostly happens when the window is maximized. Tested in 3.5.8669 with default and custom MB skins.

Beyond MusicBee / Re: wondering about redwing

It's interesting that you mention this now, because I have come across his posts more frequently lately. Maybe it's because of the confrontations some of us had with him that he got tired of. Nevertheless, he was a fantastic member. I also can't imagine that he abandoned MusicBee completely; I mean, although this might be a bold statement, the level of performance, scope, developer interaction, and attention to detail is unmatched among music organizing tools. It also reveals how talented Steven Mayall is, considering how advanced MusicBee was already in the first and second versions, compared to everything else on the market produced by large or small teams. It's just mind-blowing.

Speaking for myself, I can say that I benefited greatly from his contributions as an early member using another nickname in the early 2010s, and later also as a silent reader, I was happy to consider his help.

Plugins / Re: Music Scheduler
« on: August 12, 2022, 03:32:16 PM »
Hello Baroda, I am unable to run daily schedule on music bee there might be some bug could you please check and help me with this. We are a non profit organization and want to run music daily without any person to touch computer and do the things.
Please help me if you can

I recommend using the Windows Task Scheduler since I also never really got this plugin to work, so I made use of the WTS many years ago. It's really easy to setup. You will need to create a specific folder in the Task Scheduler and create all your task schedules in it. Use some command lines to make your schedule work. Here you can find all available command line parameters. The first three commands are the most important as you will need one of them to target your playlist. You simply replace the xxxx with the actual playlist path. For example: "D:\MusicBee\Playlists\Auto-Playlists\Task Scheduler\Automated Playlist.xautopf". (with both ")

Then you can define triggers and actions within the WST. There you need to select the option to start the program / script:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\MusicBee\MusicBee.exe" (again with ") [use the file path where your MusicBee.exe is located]

And then you make use of the argument; example for the playlist called "Automated Playlist":
/Play "D:\MusicBee\Playlists\Auto-Playlists\Task Scheduler\Automated Playlist.xautopf"

With triggers you can define when your playlist starts or stops.

You can create as many tasks as you like. Here's an article about the WST and how it can be used if you need some help: https://www.windowscentral.com/how-create-automated-task-using-task-scheduler-windows-10

It might take a bit of time of reading and getting used to, but it's certainly worth it investing little time into this killer feature.

MusicBee Wishlist / Re: Option to Hide Icons in the Tab Bar
« on: August 12, 2022, 09:38:31 AM »
+1 for text only while pinned

Meanwhile, Windows has a huge range of suitable and creative symbols / text icons that can be used via [Win]+ [.] or via fonts such as Segoe UI Symbols. In this way, every user can simply bypass the icons specified by the skin developer and individualise them as desired or, if they don't need any icons at all, save space without unpinning the tabs. I would love this option being added.

I've just tried 3.5.8256, but unfortunately it's still not working.

This is what (still) happens:

And this happens when I start it manually (desired result):

Bug Reports / Re: Command line parameters
« on: August 09, 2022, 03:06:53 PM »
I noticed another issue related to this one. The playlists always get queued / played in by 1) alphabetical album artist and 2) album order, not respecting the defined order and settings anymore. I also made sure that the "shuffle tracks individually" option in the now playing settings is activated. Queueing and playing via context menu works as expected.

I confirm this fixed the issue. Thank you, Steven!  :)
