thats fixed for the next update which i will post later

https://getmusicbee.com/patches/MusicBee35_Patched.zip
unzip and replace the existing musicbee application files
I've tested this patch and it has fixed the problem. Thank you for the help!

Could you please repost your settings file to MediaFire or some other file hosting service that does not require the user to create an account and/or log in?
Ah apologies, I forgot to set it as public, I would've assumed Google Drive did that automatically. It should work now, but just in case there's any further issues I've also uploaded the file to MEGA and added that to the post.

3
Are you sure you mentioned the right setting in #2 there?
In my testing, the above option as well as "clear list and play album only" works as intended:
Album tracks play in the selected order after using the Enter key - which seems to be the default key for that command.

For me, the problem you described arises when the option "clear list and play all tracks" is selected.
With that on and irrespective of which track is selected, playback always initiates from Track #1 when the Enter/Play Now hotkey is used.
Double-clicking though, and changing the PlayNow action to any other key but Enter, works fine as you said.
Oh my bad lol. Yeah you're right, I have it set it 'clear list and play all tracks', so I'm not sure why I stated the wrong option in the OP. again, sorry for any confusion caused.

yeah, i am also unable to reproduce this. Can you send a link to your settings file (help/ support/ view settings)

could you provide a screenshot? Right now i am not understanding what the difference between a highlighted track and a selected track is.
There is no difference between the two, apologies for any confusion this caused.

5
I can't test this until the weekend, but regarding ur statement above:
Is the result any different when playback is invoked through a mouse click rather than a hotkey?
Double clicking works fine, also removing the hotkey causes Enter to play the selected track just fine, though this isn't much of a fix as it means Enter won't play the track in other views.

6
I find this problem only happens with the tracklist that appears underneath an album when you click an album cover, and only when play now is set to 'clear list and play selected tracks only'. Anywhere else it plays from the currently highlighted track, and under any other setting play now starts from the selected track, it just seems to be these two settings combined causing an issue.

for reference I have play now set to Enter in the hotkeys, if this changes anything

This issue seems to have disappeared for me with the latest patch you posted in this thread.

If you are able to replicate this in a reliable manner, it might help if you could provide some useful information such as MB version, audio settings, audio devices, etc.
Sure, I probably should've put that in the OP but better late then never I guess. This version I'm using currently is 3.5.8370 P, though it's been happening to me for a while now and seems to have persisted between versions.

This a 100% replicatable issue on my end. Whenever the album cover view is open it always happen no matter what, and I can't seem to fix it besides changing it to not display tracks in the pop-up under an album. This only affects the track displayed under the album when enter is pressed, double clicking them, the album, or pressing enter anywhere else seems to work fine. I thought the Play Now hotkey being set to enter might be relevant, but it never seems to fix the issue for me. I've also tried the patch that Steven posted earlier today (hopefully reflected by my version number) but that seemed to do nothing besides delaying the time between the two instances of the track playing, though I can't check this as I don't have the previous version on me to compare.

in case it's confusing what I'm referring to, I mean this track list underneath the album.

Bug Reports / songs start playing twice
« on: November 27, 2022, 02:22:50 PM »
If enter is pressed on a song title in album cover view then it seems to cause it to play twice at once for me, with the second play happening roughly a second after the first starts

MusicBee Wishlist / Re: Foobar-style search in library
« on: October 01, 2022, 05:34:06 AM »
I don't think this is relevant to the actual search function. I think this implies that when viewing a set of tracks, if you type in something foobar will jump to anything that has those letters on display anywhere, while MusicBee will specifically jump to the thing that starts with those letters in how it's being sorted. As an example, if a playlist is sorted manually, you can't jump to anything by typing in the keyboard, while foobar has no problem with this.

Bug Reports / Visual Bug/Freeze
« on: October 01, 2022, 05:21:07 AM »
Occassionaly when going in/out of an album in album cover view, MusicBee will essentially freeze, returning this broken view of the application. I can't actually control or click on it for the most part, but the music still plays and the hotkeys to control it (or at least stop it) stiil work.

Here's a screenshot I took of what it looks like as example:

Here's the error log from around the time it happend if that helps:

I've tested the patched version and the issues seems to be gone now. Thanks for the help!

That's weird, I haven't touched it at all.

I did the whole process again and uploaded the new file I've end up with. Hopefully this works.

I'm sure there's something important here I forgot to remove lol.

Specifically the pop up that appears when a line of text is too long, the one in the image with the full album title.

I assume this only affects the "view in a separate panel" option, as none of the other options actually hide the album covers, just that one.

It constantly spits this error out, which interrupts usage of the program, so I assume it should be fixed.
