General Discussions / Re: So how big is your music library?
« on: November 11, 2012, 09:04:56 AM »
64,235 files (all MP3),
445,1 GBytes,
5,161 albums by 2,296 artists.

MusicBee still runs fine. Which is even more impressive when you consider that all files and even MusicBee (Portable) itself are stored on a NAS.
It takes some time to load and quit, but the performance itself when running is fine!

Questions / Re: Disc burner

I am having the same issue trying to burn a 4GB collection on a DVD. MusicBee requires 7 Discs for that. Odd.

Plugins / Re: MusicBee Remote (Remote Control for Android)

Hi,

I already reported this problem in the "General" section, so sorry for double posting, but I was hoping someone on the Plugin side might have an idea.
I got an issue activating Plugins in a MusicBee installation on a NAS Drive, the error message says: "Unable to initialise this plugin: The plugin may need to be unblocked using Windows Explorer (right click on the DLL file/ Properties/ Unblock)". However, this seems not to be the solution. The files are unblocked, as far as I can tell.

After it seemed to work for a couple of times, the error re-occured now. Each time i cancel the syncing process and restart it, MB starts copying all files from the playlist from the very beginning, even if they had just been succesfully copied one minute ago.

I will play around a bit more to see under which conditions the error occurs and when it doesn't.

Edit: A little correction - not ALL files are re-synced, only some. I don't see any regularity in which files are re-copied and which are not though...

Oh - i had only updated to v2 yesterday. I just ran another test, and it seems to work fine so far.

Sorry for the false alarm - and thanks for the great software.

Hi Steven, thanks for the quick reply!

1. Is the feature planned for other MTP devices? The ratings sync fine in the other direction (Desktop -> device)

2. Yes, I am using version 2. No modification date seems to be written to the file. The column in windows explorer is completely blank. I suppose it's an issue with the (Philips) device, not with MusicBee, but of course I would run a debug version if you think that might help. Where do I get one and what exactly would I have to do with it?

Hello!

I recently switched from songbird to musicbee and i am really impressed. However, I experienced two problems when syncing my MTP device.

1. In the forum, i found some threads mentioning two-way syncing of ratings. In the Auto-Sync settings tab i can only find the option to sync playcount, not ratings. Am I missing something or is that feature only available for apple products?

2. When syncing a playlist in MTP mode, MB will copy every file, even when it is already on the device. According to another thread (http://getmusicbee.com/forum/index.php?topic=3029.0), this is due to the missing modified date on the device. I was wondering if there is a way to add a feature that lets the user choose, which criterion is used to determine if a file is already on the device (File size, hash or something like that).

Thanks,
LeMirque

Portable Devices / Re: Musicbee syncs songs already on Clip+
« on: July 08, 2012, 07:07:31 PM »
Hi, i am experiencing the same issue with my Philips GoGear Muse in MTP mode. I don't want to switch to MSC because i can't sync playlists then, so a solution would be great.
(However, I suppose it's an issue with the device, not with MusicBee...)
