I do not understand them either. If i look at my own music files, there is much more definition (for lack of a better word) between peaks, not blocks as shown in the pictures. That looks kinda weird to me.

I mainly use spectrograms to (try :) ) to determine if, for example a flac file, is a converted mp3 instead of a real one. Not an exact science i know, but i noticed weird things a couple of times with flac's i bought.

Is it me or do the spectrograms linked in the first post Opus Spectrograms in comparison look weird?

The first one looks like a wall of sound, (the winner of the "Loudness War"), and the rest have weird blocks.

Never seen something like that with my own sound files using Spek.

I've been using the branched 0.8.2.3 as an external tool in MusicBee for years, this newer version by the original author ecsaped me.  BTW yes the 64-bit version, like most external tools and encoders, will work just fine with MB.

Same here :) .

Works like a charm in Total Commander also.

Thanks for the tip!.

General Discussions / Re: Bug report and/or question standard "form"

Ah ok, yeah this is there indeed, but i was thinking more of a pinned "before you post" topic in Questions and Bug Reports, but that will not be read either then i suppose.

Good to hear you that you are using Auto HotKey for some replies, being a moderator is more then enough work as it is.

When i look at the bug report section and or question section of the forum, often the same questions need to be asked to help someone out.

Would it be an idea to come up with a standard "form" for users in order to remedy that.

Example:

1. What version of MB are you using.
2. Steps to reproduce the bug or question.
3. What Operating system are you using.

Stuff like that, so that certain questions are out of the way to begin with.

Maybe there is something like that already i don't know, if that is the case i missed it  :)

It would be a valuable addition to a hypothetical FAQ:

Why should I not use MusicBee?

I can think of a couple of answers that would apply to Moira.
But I think she/he has figured out by now that MusicBee is just not for her/him.

(a bit odd that that took her/him some 6+ years though)
Indeed.

The "good" news is that he/she didn't spam the whishlist forum with all the changes separately.

Btw, a few things i do not understand:

enhanced DSP; ................

Please understand many users just want an easy experience.
I want Music to make my life better, not worse.
Where do i find the "................" functionality and how do you remove that?

Where do i find those many users that want an easy experience? And who appointed you their spokesperson? Are those easy experience seeking persons unable to talk for themselves? Is there a club? Are there meetings?

It is not MusicBee making your life worse, that's all you i'm afraid. I can understand that MusicBee is not for everyone and that's ok, but to blame this beautiful piece of software as something that makes your life worse says a lot about you.

Did you see your Physician?, "Doc something is making my life worse", "Mmm, let me think, are you using MusicBee?"...

It is very simple, just stop using MusicBee and remove it from you PC.

Right, so you do not want a particular function changed, which this part of the forum is for, but a complete new version of MusicBee, where practically everything, that makes MusicBee, MusicBee, is removed?.

I am going to have to say -1 to that.
