Questions / Re: Source not found
« on: January 20, 2019, 01:16:22 AM »
Hi Steven,

Just a heads up that MusicBee just crashed and on restarting couldn't find any source files.

After half a day of restarting routers and laptops and NAS drives and so on, I've just realised that it has randomly done this thing again; where it inserts the path to one particular album into the middle of the path of my entire library and breaks it.

It is fixable again with that remapping function, but any idea why it's doing this?

Cheers, Sam

Questions / Source not found
« on: November 23, 2018, 04:28:10 AM »
*EDIT - OK, after uninstalling and reinstalling Musicbee. I can see that for some reason there has been a new folder path to one particular album inserted into the middle of the correct path for every track in Library and Inbox.

e.g.
It should be: //NASA/Public/Music/Album Name/files.***
It is now : //NASA/Public/Music/ONE SPECIFIC ALBUM FOLDER/Album Name/files.***

Should I just let it rescan the entire library to gracefully fix this without breaking all my playlists?  Which are unaffected and have the old, correct path. It's only entries under Library and Inbox that are broken. Other folders, like Podcasts are also unaffected. If I do wont it break all the sortable info like date added, recent, etc?

ORIGINAL POST:
Hi all, is anyone else having issues with "source not found"?

For a few days now I can't Play/Edit anything from my Library or Inbox.
I can add new music to the destination folder, MsuicBee will scan the files and add them to my Inbox, and can clearly see, scan and source them ... but then try to play and "Source not found".
I have rebooted everything, router, laptop, NAS drives. Multiple times.

I've had this setup running for years with very few problems.

Some info.
Running current MusicBee build.
Server installed on a Windows 10 laptop, with a wired connection to Router.
Music stored on a NAS drive wired to router.
Laptop and NAS drive appear connected and are accessible and streamable to other software (File Explorer, Plex, Android).
Though if I manually start a "scan for new files" in Musicbee.. it's says my entire library (very large) are new files, and starts the scanning and importing process, and Í'm scared to let it finish in case it breaks things; So have been hitting cancel.

Thoughts? Suggestions appreciated.

Thanks :)

Hi guys, I'm also having this problem. It's happened at least twice that I know of, specifically when using the Album Tagger.

I don't have auto-organise enabled, or any setting like it. (I've been using Musicbee for years)

It happens either during or after tagging an album, around either the stage where it writes the metadata to the files, or after sending them to the library and they're being analysed (I'm not 100% sure, MusicBee just says 'X files removed" gradually in the status bar and they are removed.

It's just happened again tonight... and I lost about a dozen new albums a few weeks ago as well, and had to go chase up the receipts for the links to download them again.

For all I know I've lost more, I just happened to be looking for these albums and went and looked and they were either gone completely, or there were a couple of tracks left in each folder.

I was on an advance release build from the forums, but as of a few months ago I've gone back to the stable release build.

Any ideas how I can fix/prevent this? :(

MusicBee Wishlist / Re: UPNP
« on: November 30, 2014, 09:12:48 PM »
Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou, Steven.

I just discovered UPnP had been implemented with the 2.5 beta (I was one of the people requesting it a few years ago).

On first try it works flawlessly out of the box (as I've come to expect, as even the beta's you release are so damn reliable), I'm in MusicBee DLNA paradise!

MB as DLNA server to a Nexus 5 and Asus Transformer tablet (via BubbleUPnP).
Rendering to TV/Hi-Fi setup (via XBMC)
Rendering to Xbox (360, but not the Xbox One)

Flac files even all have cover art, which is something I've been struggling with for ages; and MusicBee as a server is way faster than the Twonky server on a NAS I've been using, scrolling long playlists was lag city, now it's not. Geat stuff, mate, thanks.

Questions / Re: Has the bottom panel been removed?

It was a long time ago, funks, I think from memory it was a pixel hunt on the bottom to find exactly the right spot to drag it up... But that was many versions ago...

Just an FYI +1 for this!

(e.g. I use BubblePNP app for Android, and can push/render playing music sourced from my NAS (stored as FLAC), from my tablet or phone to each other, to XBMC on the laptop/TV setup, to the Xbox.... The only thing missing from the setup being perfect is being able to render it to MusicBee.

Sure, I can push it to XBMC/or Media Center. But I MUCH prefer MusicBee. Also to push to them it uses the hdmi connection to the TV speakers, and I'd have to change the source every time to switch to using the Hi-Fi setup speakers. Just as an outline of why it would be bloody awesome if UPNP was integrated.)

Plugins / Re: MusicBee RC (Remote Control for Android)

A big +1 for this whole idea!

The main thing I miss about my ex-player is the android remote.

OK, that's embarrassing. After looking for ages, as soon as I posted I found it ... of course.

I must have dragged it all the way down at some stage, and because the arrow was not there to 'restore' it, didn't even think of it being slid away and dived into settings. After a tinker I just discovered that when you drag it all the way down, the icon to restore it also disappears. Which is great for a cleaner look, tricky if you don't realise it's actually still there.

Questions / Has the bottom panel been removed?
« on: September 11, 2012, 05:43:40 AM »
I just noticed I no longer have, or seem to be able to find any way to reactivate the 'bottom panel'?

Was it removed, have I broken something along the way when updating, or am I just being blind and not seeing the option that I need to find to get it back?

p.s. Using the final 2.0 Beta (2.0.4628)

MusicBee Wishlist / Scrolling on the left sidebar with a touchpad.
« on: July 24, 2012, 08:43:34 AM »
Apologies if this is in the wrong place. I'm not sure if this should be considered a bug, or a wishlist feature?

Using a laptop touchpad, as long as the cursor is over a block, it becomes active to scroll. It works for the main window, the right sidebar, the lyrics, everywhere that I am aware of. But to scroll on the left sidebar using the touchpad, I have to place the cursor precisely on top of the scrollbar. Is this an oversight, or required for the tree structure to work or something?

(p.s. I'm using the latest beta, but it's been like that since I noticed it, and on different builds.)

Cheers. :)

Just a suggestion, I would love to see.
A 'pin/lock/sticking' button for the search box.

For example, say you are viewing a playlist and you search for 'x', and then with the button toggled, you can go back to your library or another playlist, or wherever you want to look around, and the search sticks.

Am I explaining that clearly?
