Have tried every option suggested . . . AVG has MB as an exception. AVG support says the problem is with MB. Windows support cannot find any issue and suggests problem is with MB. Have resorted to a restore point and MB still will not start. Have loaded old versions of MB and MB will not start.

Looks like MediaMonkey is back . . .

Am having same problem after using MB for many years. Am using AVG and have set MB as an exception. Registry et all cleaned and compressed. Still unable to start MB from any menu, as regular log in or admin.

Agree the software is the best freeware I have found to date . . .

But it would be nice to find a way to work with the database information in a third-party software (Access?).

And is frustrating when scan for new music in the library location fails but the "report" does not include any information to help sort out whatever it was that made the scan unsuccessful. Even installing a new version of the program does not help.

Perhaps, as the collection approaches 80.000 items, Bee just cannot handle the data . . . find that hard to believe but . . .

Questions / Edit MB database with external editor
« on: June 30, 2014, 09:03:16 PM »
Am wondering if there is a way to edit the MB database in an external editor to help correct -- and delete -- some errors in various fields.

Would appreciate any suggestions for copying and restoring database to an editor.

Thanks
