NAD D3020 DAC here connected to my computer via USB. Should really upgrade my speakers but for a desktop system I think it sounds good.

Questions / Re: Export/Import playlist - what have I done wrong?

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Edit: Realise I'm talking to myself but this was resolved by making sure the box was ticked for scan for new or updated files at startup under preferences > library

One issue left to solve. The imported playlist has removed the tags from a lot of the tracks:

So wasn't too bad to fix in the end. Things I learnt:

The export playlist function didn't work as I expected it
The playlist files are stored under windows music library under a music bee folder rather than under the music bee install folder (this is the default - expect you can change it)
Use the relink function to point MB to the new location if the drive letter has changed: https://musicbee.fandom.com/wiki/Relink_Music_File_Paths - You need to state the full file path rather than just the drive where the music folder was/is now located
When you open a playlist file in notepad it looks strange as per my post above. This is fine, that's what they look like.

Questions / Export/Import playlist - what have I done wrong?
« on: October 19, 2019, 11:51:50 AM »
Hi,

This morning I exported my playlists as I was swapping out my boot drive for a new one. I have come to import my playlists and each one only contains ten tracks which I think is probably the last album I played in MB before changing the drive over.

I have opened up the playlist in Notepad ++ but it still shows the same ten tracks.

What have I done wrong?

I do have the option of plugging in the old boot drive and re exporting the playlists if this is the step I got wrong.

Any ideas?

Thank you

Update:

So I have located the old playlists and this is a sample:
F:\Music\Sparklehorse-Dreamt_For_Light_Years_In_The_Belly_Of_A_Mountain-(Advance)-2006-uF\03-sparklehorse-shade_and_honey.mp3ÿÿÿÿN

From within MB it will not let me import this playlist. So that is my next line of investigation. Do I need to convert it to m3u?

Update 2: now sorted.

Questions / How I do ignore an artist?
« on: August 02, 2019, 09:15:02 PM »
Hi

(I did a quick search on ignore artist and exclude artist but forgive me if I have missed the answer.

I am sure like many of you with large libraries something a track comes on by an artist you do not like. Is there an easy way to tell MB not to play anything by that artist without deleting them from the library?

thanks

In line with the above post would also be nice to more easily add the current track/album to an existing (or even new) playlist.

As above. This is a feature I would like. Often I am listen to a track via Auto DJ that I had forgotten about and I want to add it to a new or existing playlist.

I have looked around the (Android) app but cannot see this option.

Thanks and keep up the great work with Music Bee - I love it.

Questions / Only play mp3s above a certain bit rate?
« on: March 07, 2018, 09:45:42 PM »
I am sure there is a way of doing this but cannot see the option to specify it. In my music library I lots of live sets which I can live with never hearing on auto DJ or when I shuffle the whole artist.

To get around this I guess there is two options:

1) Find all the folders with this live sets and move them out of the monitored folder
2) Prevent MB from playing anything below a certain bit rate.

A wish list feature would be to have all my FLAC and MP3 in the same library and MB would only ever play the highest quality file available.

My final point is a big thanks to the developer, the app is great and has got me listening to great music in my library I had forgotten about.
