I was on 3.1.6590, which is apparently outdated. But I just updated to 3.3 and tried another new library and got the same amount of errors.

Resurrecting my old thread here.

Navigating to the file I know is now missing from my library, the Category shows as None.
To test why it wasn't being added when I rescan the parent folder, I created a new library and scanned the same parent folder to see what was added. About 1 out of every 6 files gave me an error of "System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object." Oddly enough, the file that went missing from my initial library was added to this one without any problems.

The playlists were built using my existing library, some as recently as a few months ago.
Rescanning the Library folder doesn't find anything new, and the issue remains after doing a rescan of all files.

I just sent all playlist files to my Library, and now none of the files in one of said playlists can be found even though they're in my Library, which is exactly the issue I had in February that is probably behind all of this. I also noticed at least one file in a different playlist that is still not in the Library and now it's not even in the playlist it was just in anymore.

I'm sort of thinking I should just start from scratch.

OK, sending them to Library does work, but none of those things you mentioned are grayed out, and they're also empty if I open them.
I can use your suggestion fix the ones in playlists, but I assume I have a bunch more missing that are not in any playlist, so I'd like to figure out where all of the missing files are.

Questions / Files available in playlists, but not showing in library
« on: April 25, 2020, 04:54:01 AM »
There are many files that I can't locate in my library, either by manually browsing or searching. I'm pretty sure they're actually there though, because I can see and play the ones that are in playlists in the same library. The only thing I could think of that could be causing this is some sort of filter, but I don't have one active.

Any other ideas?

I should have known that. Problem appears to be solved, thanks all!

7
Ah, OK, that totally worked, thank you! The tags are still missing though; is there any way to update those using the files rather than auto-tagging?

8
The Remap Music Folder tool is already showing the correct file path.

Organized through MB. My playlists are in MBP, although I've tried both formats. No, the music is not missing from my library.

The URL isn't a surprise; when I used the MB organize feature, it basically removed an extraneous folder from my music file structure, and for some reason the playlist is still pointing at the old folder, even when I manually correct it.

File xyz is missing.

Not sure what happened, but after organizing my library, MusicBee can't find anything in my playlists. The title is the only thing there; all other fields are blank. The "Date Added" is also very recent for some reason; even more recent than the reorg. Probably weirdest of all, when I manually point to the correct location, the file works fine in that playlist only until I close MusicBee. Then the "Date Added" resets and I have the same issue.

I can manually recreate all of my playlists, but is there a faster way to repair the existing ones?

Questions / Re: Troubleshooting playlists not being recognized on Android

Yeah, I saw those, and the consensus of those threads seems to be "stop using MusicBee" which I would like to be a last resort!

Questions / Troubleshooting playlists not being recognized on Android

I can't seem to get any playlists to show up on Android. I've tried various apps, and both playlist formats.

Any other suggestions?

I had been using MBP; I just switched to M3U and re-synced, but still no luck.

Portable Devices / Playlist weirdness on Android
« on: August 16, 2018, 08:50:04 AM »
Hi all,

My music has always synced to my Android and shown up in Google Play Music with no issues, but I had never been able to get the playlists to appear in the app, so I installed Shuttle. Surprisingly, the playlist showed up in Shuttle immediately.
A few days later I added more music and synced again. After that sync, for some reason the playlists disappeared from Shuttle, but they showed up in Google Play Music, so I switched back.
Now I just synced again and my playlists are not showing up in either app.

I haven't changed any settings or anything like that. What could be causing this inconsistency and what can I try to fix it?
