You're right. I did have 'clear existing tags' active.

By the way, does the second script do anything special compared to the 'Preserve these tags from being overwritten' in the 'Tags' section of 'Options'?

Probably I'm missing something. But saving with the second script on does delete all the other tags.

But never mind, keeping it off is anyway useful for me as the tracks are able to have some newer data in the other tags from MusicBrainz.

Thanks a lot for your awesome work!  :)

Hi. There's something in script #2 that makes the results of the scanned songs appear all blank in the right panel of Picard. As of now I'm using it with unticking #2.

Tips and Tricks / Hotkeys: Starter list
« on: May 29, 2020, 05:32:58 PM »
Hi.

Musicbee has insane amount of customizability. But beginners might get confused as to where to begin once they have imported their music into the player. Following is the list of hotkeys I have been using from years for some of my most used functions. I hope old and new users find something useful here. The focus is on single-handed use. You will find the Hotkeys section in Preference (Ctrl+O).

General: Goto Playing Track at Source
 Ctrl+Enter (change from 'queue last')

General: Restart MusicBee
 Ctrl+Q

Playback: Play Next Track
 Ctrl+Right

Playback: Previous Track
 Ctrl+Left

Player: Volume Down
 Ctrl+Down

Player: Volume Up
 Ctrl+Up

Rating Now Playing: 3 stars
Alt+3 (change from 'rating selected tracks: 3 stars')

Rating Now Playing: 4 stars
Alt+4 (change from 'rating selected tracks: 4 stars')

Rating Now Playing: 5 stars
Alt+5 (change from 'rating selected tracks: 5 stars')

Rating Now Playing: Toggle Love (on Last.fm)
 Alt+L

Rating Now Playing: Unrated
Alt+0 (change from 'rating selected tracks: no stars')
Or Alt+- (change from 'rating selected tracks: unrated')

Delete all the remaining hotkeys for the group of 'Rating Selected Tracks'

Send To: Clipboard (selected files)
Ctrl+Shift+C (settings of what is copied here can be edited in 'Tags (2) > "Send to clipboard" tags')

Note: I changed the hotkeys of the defaults of 'change rating of selected' into 'change rating of now playing' because it's easy to screw up the ratings of tracks if you have some files selected and press the wrong button without meaning to. You can change ratings of multiple files, instead, by selecting them and editing their properties.

I don't use hotkeys for 1 or 2 stars because if I dislike a track so much I delete it from my library.

I'll just leave the screenshot here of what happens when I right click on the album and 'search internet for picture':

Thanks for looking at it, Steven!

I used the your update, but the artworks still don't work. I realised, it's not working for any album that has 'Various Artists' as the album artist.

Version: 3.3.7453

Hi, Steven. Can something be done about this? I have installed the incremental updates you've given for other bug fixes and still many popular soundtrack artworks are not being downloaded.

Hi, Steven and team.

I recently cleaned the artwork from all my tracks and let Musicbee research for them as I play the tracks. I observed that some albums that MB used to find the artwork for before are not being searched now. All the sources like Fanart, iTunes, etc. are active.

Example albums whose artwork is not being found:
Breaking Bad - Season 1
Batman: Arkham City
Pulp Fiction
Kill Bill: Vol. 1

Version from Windows store: 3.3.7367

Bug Reports / Re: Replay Gain being reapplied
« on: October 08, 2017, 09:50:10 AM »
Pinging back: this problem of the already tagged tracks being volume analyzed again is becoming more pronounced. I'd like to know if I can do something about this. Most of my recently added tracks are having this problem.

1. So what do you thing could be the reason why particular tracks are being reanalyzed unnecessarily? If I only select them and start analysis, they aren't ticked, which is good. But if I select them with multiple other tracks, the problem track gets ticked again, while the others are unticked.

2. 'Long time ago' would be around less than 2 years. But if that's how you want to keep it, cool. But I am sure there are users who won't like album gain at all.
