Questions / How to drag + drop parent folder path to create a shortcut link?

Hi,

I would like to create a shortcut link for the parent folder on a group of imported files, i can't find a way to do this quickly. is this possible?

I use this for adding reference link to files I have watched/listened.


Example Path is

Parent folder

c:\MusicBee Movie\

Files

c:\MusicBee Movie\Video1.avi
c:\MusicBee Movie\Video2.avi

Currently, you can drag + drop a file/files into another program easily, you just drag + drop file/files and it will create a shortcut link where you can click and it will open with your default program.

I would like to create a shortcut link for the parent folder instead of the files inside the folder by dragging + dropping it to the other program.

Is this possible at the moment?

Hello,

I'm using the portable version of musicbee and when I want to add a new folder to the monitored folder, the unavailable folders are removed. it should preserve the missing folders and let the user decide if they want to remove a monitored folder or not.

What do you use to record if the video is watched or not? I'm using the play count, but I was thinking of using a tag/label, can i use a tag/label and how?

Thank you phred for the explanation, I prefer 3rd party viewers/players instead of built-in that is why I like using musicbee, maybe add video/file manager in the webpage, I think this will help in making musicbee more popular

Hi,

I don't know if anyone thought of this but when I first use musicbee, I was not expecting a media manager. I'm using it as my media manager for videos and its great. I think its much better than mediamonkey and other applications I've tried. The reason I'm posting this is in musicbee website, its being advertise as a music manager and player only, and it does not tell that it will manage other media.


So should we change the name?

Questions / How to send Monitored folders to specific tab based on their path?

Hi all,


I have arranged my files in folders based on their type

example all video files in the video folder, music files in the music folder

C:\videos
C:\music
C:\audiobooks

I set up musicbee to monitor these folders,

what I like to do is to let musicbee move the files while importing to their respective tabs instead of moving all to the inbox tab.


C:\videos --> video tab
C:\music ----> music tab
C:\audiobooks ---> audiobooks tab


Is there a way to customize each monitored folder?
