Tips and Tricks / Re: How to remove bracketed Artist name next to songs
« on: September 13, 2019, 07:36:16 PM »
Even when the album artist and the artist are the same, not good
thats exactly as intended
Is that so? because, i don't really like every song in the album having the artist unnecessarily subtitled under them (this is a problem for a big album with a few or a single song(s) that features other artist(s)) plus, i remember older versions of musicbee behaving exactly like i mention

if you are using v3.3.7165+ another alternative is to Set the 2nd line of the fields displayed to "Artist". The artist will only be displayed on the 2nd line if it differs to the album artist and is the same behaviour as v3.2

I'm on version v3.3.7.165 and when i do the method you specified, it appears me like this:

Even when the album artist and the artist are the same, not good

@ Paul_Stone342
Sorry for not replying sooner, but sometimes there is just not enough hours in the day to get everything done!

As I said I use the in-built grouping tag, (so as not to waste a custom tag)

you can then use a custom sorting

for me, this sorts as Albums; Albums [live]; EP's; Singles

what it doesn't do is break them up into those groups with a nice sorting sub-header  :(
If your wish is about being able to do that as well,
then I certainly give it +1

Well thanks for your help and reply, I also understand that one can not be connected all day.
Even so it would be nice to be grouped by two tags...like a sub-group?, also thanks for your support  :)  (And...What a nice skin!)

i think i know what you want to achieve and here is how to do it.

1. tag your music with "custom 1" in the "tags 2" header as either: live, Studio, compilation....whatever.

2. right click the top panel and select Group by > Custom Tags > Custom 1

Yes, it is now grouped by album type, but then can not be grouped by artist as well?

...and album type tag! to a better oraginzation of albums
I currently use the Grouping tag for this.
Album
Album [10"]
Album [Compilation]
Box Set
EP
Single [7"]
Single [10"]
Single [12"]
Single [CDS]
Single [CDMS]
File [Digital Media]
are some of the release criteria I have
(sorry about that...)
Could you explain more, please?  :D

New Tagging Tool: Album Type  :)

Hello, I'm new here (hehe) i have a new idea for the player...an album type tag! to a better oraginzation of albums

As you see, my library is organized by albums (I tag it myself with help of wikipedia, some are untagged in the photo). But i think all it's messy up because sometimes it's confusing search for the right studio album (what happens with the rolling stones and their big discography)
So here is my idea:

(Example)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Doors:

Studio:

- The Doors (1967)
- Strange Days (1967)
- Waiting For The Sun (1968)
- The Soft Parade (1969)
- Morrison Hotel (1970)
- L.A. Woman (1971)
- An American Prayer (1978)

Post-Discography:

- Other Voices (1971)
- Full Circle (1972)

Live:

- Absolutely Live (1970)
And Some Other...

Compilation:

- The Future Starts Here: The Essential Doors Hits (2008)
And Some Other...

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

But There Are Many Other Album Types Depending Of The Artist, Like:

Tribute Albums : (Usually Various Artist)

Stoned Immaculate: The Music of The Doors (2000)
Stone Free: A Tribute to Jimi Hendrix (1993)
AHK-toong BAY-bi Covered: A Tribute to U2 (2011)
Working Class Hero: A Tribute to John Lennon (2005)
etc...

Remix Albums: (Can Vary Between A Full Studio Album Or Random Songs Remixed)

Limp Bizkit - New Old Songs (2001)
Linkin Park - Reanimation (2002)
Michael Jackson - Blood on the Dance Floor: HIStory in the Mix (1997)
etc...

Demo Albums: (And Sampler Albums, They Are The Same)
Fall Out Boy - Evening's Out With Your Girlfriend (2002)
Green Day - Demo-licious (2014)
System Of A Down - Self-Titled (1998)

Soundtrack Albums: (Usually Various Artist Or Single Artist)
Queen - Flash Gordon (1980)
The Who - Quadrophenia (1979)
S*x Pistols - The Great Rock 'N' Roll Swindle (1979)
etc...

Cover Albums: (Don't confuse with Tribute Albums)
Metallica - Garage Inc. (1998)
etc..

Box-Set Albums: (For Those About Who Like A Big Collection Of Music, Like Me)
Nirvana - With The Lights Out (2004)
AC/DC - Backtracks (2009)
Led Zeppelin - Self-Titled Boxset (1990)

And Finally...Extended Plays (EP's)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, i got to end the post here because i don't know if there's a limit of characters words ::) I hope someone can answer me and help me on the support of this magnificent player, thanks
