Questions / Re: MusicBee doesn't play AAC encodes
« on: September 03, 2018, 08:06:57 PM »
See the FAQ section of the wiki for instructions on using bass_aac.dll
However it may be the file is DRM protected in which case you will need to have that removed to play with MB

Yes, it's working.

Thanks for the help Steven. Highly appreciated.

Questions / [Solved] MusicBee doesn't play AAC encodes
« on: September 03, 2018, 05:54:14 PM »
Hello,

I'm using a trimmed version of the Windows that had Media foundation removed. Whenever I play iTunes songs I get an error "Unable to play this file - it has unsupported format or is corrupted"  I'm guessing Musicbee uses media foundation to decode AAC but that's not an option for me anymore so is there any other workaround ?

Thanks for the kind help.

Questions / Re: Incorrect rendering of UI & Artworks
« on: September 01, 2018, 03:02:43 PM »
The layout in the last screenshot is intentional for when musicbee judges the window width is too small to fit all controls. However for the next update I have tweaked the criteria when that kicks in. Also I see there is an issue with some of the skins where the volume level isnt visible in this compressed layout, and thats fixed for the next update

https://getmusicbee.com/patches/MusicBee32_Patched.zip

It's fixed, thanks Steven.

Previously when I dragged the main player window around to give Musicbee more space, the wave bar just got bigger and volume slider stayed hidden until it went full screen. I think the better approach is to keep the volume slider and other elements intact while altering the width of the wave bar whenever the resizing of the player occurs, that way we can have all the elements visible simultaneously without having to stretch the main player window. This new patch seems to have fixed it, so it's good now.

Also, I've created a request for the option to disable the resizing of the player through dragging around.

Thanks for all the help Steven. You're awesome.

MusicBee Wishlist / UI Lockdown
« on: September 01, 2018, 02:59:30 PM »
Hi,

It would be awesome if there's an option to lock down the UI which prevents Musicbee from being resized so that it could hold it's window position (size of the player).

Thanks.

That is an extended tag for the release time

Questions / Re: Incorrect rendering of UI & Artworks

You can customize the scrollbars' width by following redwing's instructions here:

https://getmusicbee.com/forum/index.php?topic=25745.msg147512#msg147512

Also, check if "narrow scrollbars" is selected in Prefs/Layout(1)/general;  if so, de-select and see if that gives you what you need.  If not, use above method.

I've unchecked Narrow scrollbars option and now they appear as they use to (with the option enabled). Thanks for the tip sveakul. But now there's a new issue regarding the wave bar or progress bar in the middle, it's way too far across that it leaves no room for other elements such as volume slider and Last.fm button. How can I edit the size of the wave bar / progress bar ?

does this version make any difference?
https://getmusicbee.com/patches/MusicBee32_Patched.zip
unzip and replace the existing musicbee files

oh! yeah it certainly did.

It also works with other plugins, skins.

I can't find words to express my gratitude for you Steven. Your project is so kick-ass, I can't even think of any alternatives for Musicbee. May God bless you.

Edit: The patch has fixed it except for the scrollbars. They are way too narrow. Is it intentional ?

Questions / Incorrect rendering of UI & Artworks
« on: August 30, 2018, 09:21:20 AM »
Hello,

I just noticed that Musicbee ain't rendering the Artworks and UI properly. The Artworks in the main window appear to be trimmed  in half and stretched vertically (like movie posters). The player control buttons/ Icons on the header including navigation icons are smaller and off too. Caption buttons appear to be misplaced too.

I've been using Musicbee for over a year now, never saw this happening before. I did an update to 3.2.6760 a few days back so I thought might be causing some problem so I downgraded to version 3.1.6590 but to no avail. I also changed themes, removed settings in Userprofiles but no matter what I do, it just doesn't go away.

It has ruined my Musicbee experience, any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for reading.

Questions / Re: Can AAC files with DRM be played/converted in MusicBee
« on: August 30, 2018, 07:02:01 AM »
There are also DRM removers you can try

https://www.sidify.com/

This one apart from removing DRM also converts and does a lot of other stuff.

very good...the choice of the colors is exquisite (a treat for the eyes)

just that controls bar is way too broad.

Beyond MusicBee / Re: Suggestions for good file hosting sites?
« on: June 09, 2017, 08:55:01 PM »
Might I suggest Usersfiles.com I use an Adblocker so I can't comment on the advertising but the great part is all the files 5 MB and below are never deleted and all the files above that stay online for one year after last download. Also, it's quite hassle free, worth checking out.

ah! got it, thanks for the explanation.

Heya,
with the main Navigator being set to 'auto hide' - there's now a 'pin' in the top right corner in the Navigator panel. Which is awesome!

I'm having hard time understanding this, could you please do a screenshot ?

Thanks.

Hi guys

I've noticed that if you single click album cover in the main panel, it shows expanded panel, that's alright. When you double click the album cover it plays the album but also shows the expanded panel which is weird because if user wants to play an album with the double click, there's no point in showing the expanded panel, which in turn requires one more click to disappear.

Wouldn't it be better if single click shows the expanded panel and double click plays the album without showing the expanded panel ?

Thoughts ?

Plugins / Re: VST Effects Plugin
« on: March 19, 2017, 07:50:24 PM »

in the case of this plugin its supposed to be the 2010 runtime.
You can get it from here:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5555

let me know if it solves the issue and i will add some instructions to the install if it fixes the issue

Yes sir it did, thanks a lot. Wouldn't it be a better idea to incorporate the C++ runtime dependencies with the plugin?

Thanks for the support Steven, highly appreciated.
