Questions / Re: Editing the Mood Tag
« on: June 12, 2019, 01:09:05 AM »
The list of available moods can be edited in configuration.ini file, though it gets overwritten during updates. As for grouping them, I think you're out of luck, though it would be a cool feature to have!

Questions / Re: Remote library over Wifi/internet?
« on: June 12, 2019, 01:01:55 AM »
I use Subsonic for this. Computer streaming is free, but it's $1 a month for phone streaming. It handles my musicbee library just fine, and there's a plugin that allows Musicbee to also stream from subsonic.

MusicBee Wishlist / Shuffle settings for individual playlists
« on: May 17, 2019, 06:37:29 AM »
Right now it's possible to change the shuffle settings of an Auto-Playlist within the settings of the playlist. This is great, since it allows some playlists to shuffle tracks by album, some playlists to shuffle individually, etc.

This would be a great feature to also extend to manually created playlists, as manually generated playlists currently simply use the player's shuffle settings.

MusicBee Wishlist / Re: Functions available in Titles
« on: May 17, 2019, 06:29:54 AM »
Assuming the prerequisite tags are properly formatted, the virtual tag formulas you provided should actually work!

To be clear, what I mean is that, if entered into a virtual tag formula

1/  <Artist> - <Title> - <Track#> - <Album>
2/  <Artist> - <Title> - <Album>
3/  <Artist> - <Title>

will take the tags that you're requesting and combine them into one tag, separated by hyphens. Here's an example of the first one implemented in the virtual tag editor:

This is an interesting problem, so I'm happy to keep helping. Any more details about how your stuff is formatted and exactly what you'd like out?

The way I've gotten around stuff like this is to use a virtual tag called "Display title" that implements the functions I want to use. If you want, you could then use Additional Tagging and Reporting Tools to copy the value of that tag to title, or you could just use Display Title.

Bug Reports / Error message when mouse leaves "files" area on screen
« on: April 30, 2019, 12:11:06 AM »
I'm getting an error when I try to move the mouse outside the central "files" area of the screen. Ending the process via the task manager and restarting the app fixed it, but it felt worth reporting.

If you right-click the tab, it should appear as an option. Click "Use Custom Tab Layout", and pick "Copy Current Layout to..." and create a new custom layout. Then, you can alter that tab's layout, and the changes you make will only propagate to the tabs that are using that layout.

It is possible, however, to have different columns displayed using custom tab layouts. It took me way too long to figure that one out, but if you're OK with having your audiobooks in a different tab that's filtered to that part of your library, what you describe is doable.

MusicBee Wishlist / Re: Hotkey to jump to prev/next group?

+1. This would be great for 40-track albums or for multi-movement classical works.

Questions / Re: How to make a “compilation” album
« on: November 25, 2018, 03:58:10 AM »
In the settings tab of the tag editor, you can also use the "iTunes compilation" setting to have the album artist treated as "Various Artists" while keeping the original artists.

MusicBee Wishlist / Re: Big Covers for Radio Station List

+1. This seems like a pretty good idea, especially given how few radio stations the average person probably listens to.

Questions / Re: RINGTON PRIVE
« on: November 05, 2018, 07:10:15 AM »
Ik weet eerijk gezegd niet of MusicBee m4r bestanden kan creëren. Misschien is het wel mogelijk om het bestand rechstreeks te kopiëren, maar ik weet niet hoe.

To the non Dutch speakers out there, is is possible for Musicbee to preserve the m4r file format that iPhones use for ringtones when syncing? Is it possible to add an m4r file to a device via Musicbee?

MusicBee Wishlist / Re: Auto-playlist track group lock
« on: November 02, 2018, 08:54:33 PM »
What you're looking for is the Auto-Playlist's "shuffle by" setting. I use the grouping tag to specify tracks that I want to keep together, and the auto-playlist handles the rest!

I really like this idea, but if this were to be implemented, I'd ask that it be made optional. I have a lot of tracks with matching names in my library that would be annoyingly misidentified as the same.
