MusicBee Wishlist / Re: Update suggestions for MB tagging tools
« on: February 26, 2022, 04:13:22 PM »
+1 on everything here.

So, 78 viewings and nobody who has any advice for a novice?

I have so many .mp3's, .flac's, .m4a's etc, etc, and there is such a difference in volume from album to album and genre to genre and smart gain doesn't really seem to work, so I thought I'd spend some days to fix this.  I'm thinking I'll go with albumgain to preserve more silent parts of songs rather intact, but most of all I wonder if I should adjust anything on the db-slider to the right?
But will this fix difference in volumes between different albums and genres? I don't want to have to adjust the volume slider again!

I might be nagging on this but the ability to add bookmarks, e.g. bookmarked part/s of tracks to playlists would be a feature very nice.

Questions / Re: How does MB search within Google for artwork?

Yes, but with the kind of music I listen to there often is no covers on gracenote and fanart.

I still think that rightclicking the play/pause-button should act as a stop.

MusicBee Wishlist / A simplification of send/copy-to dialog.
« on: February 15, 2014, 04:57:44 PM »
I use the send-to function quite extensively and it's a great function, but it's dialog, options and layout are a complete mess. As you can see in the screenshot, my filenaming templates (in the presetsarea) are a mess. They're hard to read, on most of the templates there is no destinationfolder wich one can see (as you see, the soundtrackfolder is present but not on the others) is present. So one has to go pick one after the other to get the right template with the right destinationfolder. One can't either scroll when one template is chosen, eg, in most dialogs in other programs one can pick an option and then scroll the options in the drawer without having to opening it again.
I know I can choose a template and then choose a folder manually, but to do that everytime? No. As I said, I use this quite extensively.
And one cannot delete old and no longer used templates.

I'd like this to be simplified so that I can select a template for lets say a death metal album, to be sent to my death metal folder and the next time i'd like to send a compilation death metal album to the same destination, this time around I want a different file- and foldernaming template but to the same destination. The third time maybe I want to send an album to the heavy metal folder but with the first examples fil- and foldertemplate. This should be much easier to do than what it is now.

I hope I made myself kinda clear of what I mean and I'd like Stevens and all the MB-users opinions, ideas on this one.

And while I'm at it, I'd like to remember Steven on my old request of making these drawers scrollable with the mouse-wheel. There's several of these drawers in MusicBee that doesn't support scrolling. I think some do, but not all.

MusicBee Wishlist / Ability to add bookmarks to playlists.
« on: February 12, 2014, 06:20:46 PM »
It would be nice if one could add boomarks to playlists. I have many bookmarks wich is of very different types, like cool parts of a song, nice guitarsolos, etc, etc. It would be awesome to be able to add these bookmarks to playlist which only plays the bookmarked parts of the songs, etc. As is now when bookmarks is added to a playlist, the whole song is played which is kinda disturbing.

I know one can edit the time in the properties dialog of a song, to listen to determined parts or skip an intro and so on. But what about when I want to listen to the whole song, then I have to edit it back to the original time.

A playlistfunction for adding bookmarks to playlists, would be really cool. Think of all the sweet playlist one could make with this function. All kinds of weird stuff. :-)

I'd like more options of this seetting. I want high qality covers and usually I get only 500x500 covers, and I want higher qiality.

I really think this is necessary, please consider this.

MusicBee Wishlist / Improvements to the Edit and Auto-Tag by Album dialogs.
« on: November 30, 2013, 06:44:17 PM »
I think 'Show Artwork' also should be displayed in the edit dialog. In the right-click menu or when left-clicked it will show the available imagefiles in the corresponding folder.

When writing something in a field, eg Genre, a scrollable list shows up, but this list is not scrollable, one has to click up/down in the list.
Please change this. Also, this is the case in "AutoTag by Album".

The filelist in "AutoTag by Album" should be sortable with the colums too, eg; artist, title, time, original title, time, filename. Sometimes it takes alot of time to reorder the files with the arrows.

The artwork-tab in the edit-dialog could use some improvements. When adding image-files from a browser by drag-and-drop, the artworkfield in the bottom (when you have selected to make a new one) gets minimised. See screenshot.

If someone has more ideas for improvements, please write your ideas here.

MusicBee Wishlist / Re: Selectable folder tree for Backup feature

So wich one do you recommend for backing up MB settings, equalizer, playlists, library, bookmarks, etc, etc and for putting it back in the right location?
