Quick and easy way ... ok, maybe a little involved, but still the cleanest way I can think of

disconnect your external HDD
install MB to SSD
create a new library in the SDD MB install
shut down MB
reconnect External Drive
navigate to your Library on HDD - where the Music is stored, not the database

Open SDD installation of MB
scan the HDD Music Library into Inbox
check for duplicates and perform any tidy up
send the imported music to your new library

Questions / Saving new DB on one PC to move to other PC

I'm using MusicBee to clean up a rather messy manual Music library ... tracks from CDs missing info, multiple formats, etc

In order to avoid corruption of my own Library, I created a new Library on my PC to perform the cleanup

At this stage, I haven't actually added Music - I've been adding data to the original files and converting everything to MP3 format, saved in  organised folders ... merging albums that had been stored as disc1 - discN into concise, logical order

Since both PCs will have access to a shared (local) cloud, I was wondering if I should create a clean "base" folder there and then link to the media files as something along the lines of

Code

\\CloudDevice\Share\path\MusicBee\Music\file-convert-output

then once the cleanup is done, simply move (or copy) the entire newMB-database folder to the other PC

I'm not overly concerned about layout mirroring, just getting the data to his PC with least fuss - and hopefully keeping Media linkage intact (so he doesn't mess it all up again)

I was able to "fix" display .... turns out I was identifying Albums as <Album Artist> <Album> <disc>

Once I switched to <Album Artist> <Album> the duplication went away

thanks for the link psychoadept, I had been looking for that sort of info

I have the Album/Album Artist tags identical for all songs in the album - the issue seems to occur mainly after adding Disc <x> of <y> data

I have only recently started using MusicBee, so please forgive newbie queries 

When I add multi-disc albums to MusicBee, the Album names are showing Multiple times within the Album list, and if I click on the Album name, the tracks are split between the duplicated listings

Is there any way to tweak the listings so that all tracks for a given album appear under the same folder?
