There is a new setting required to be ticked in the Tags(2) preferences

I also face another problem (and will open a new topic if you think it's necessary) : the Eric Milles airplay plugin does not work any longer. The following error is displayed when I try to select an output device :

Bug Reports / Drag & Drop Tagging no longer works since update

Hi everyone.

I've just updated my MusicBee from v.3.0 to v.3.1 (v3.1.6454.19233). Since I Updated the software, I can't tag albums using drag and drop anymore (for example dragging the album to the "Year" column to set the Year tag). A forbidden icon appears next to the cursor (see the following picture).


Would anyone know how to account for it ?

I've been using your plugin for mounths, Eric, and it worked very well. I left home for hollydays and now when I'm trying to configure the output device, MusicBee suddenly crashes without reason...



Does one know how to solve this bug ?

Hello everybody.

Until now, I have always set the Now Playing tab in "Large Artwork" mode, but I can't display much information about the tracks in the playlist right panel (only the track numbers, names and lenght). And as I don't realy care about artists' biographies or lyrics, there is a lot of lost space.



I switched to the Playlist mode.



But I face another problem. In order to display a large album cover, I tried to hide every other information in the right part of the screen (such as the wavebar, artist biography, lyrics, etc.). It works but every time I close MusicBee, options are reset and I need to hide these information every day...

Here is how I would like it to be automaticaly :



Do you know how to account for it and, maybe, how to solve the problem ?
(Idéaly, I would love the artwork to be at the left but I assume it's not possible)

I use MusicBee to browse a very large collection of film music albums. Sometime, I would like to click a simple button to play one random album from my collection.

The problem is that AutoDJ has been thought to play random tracks rather than random albums. I tried to configure it so that it would select random albums instead of random trakcs, but the problem is that you have to select the number of tracks Auto DJ will send in the auto-generated playlist... For example, il you ask it to select 30 tracks, either the ramdom album is shorter and another album is added to fit the 30 requested tracks, either it is longer and the last tracks are missing.

It there a solution to this problem ? Would it be possible, for example, to create a "Play random album" button ?

Edit :

I found a solution : if you want a long Album title to merge with the following line, you have to display it before the artist's name.

Other thing I realised and share with those facing the same problem : jf you don't want two different tags to be displayed on the same line if they are merged to display a long title, you can configure the tags displayed under the album cover this way :

1 - Album
2 - An empty tag (most of the time, it wont be displayed but if the album title is too long, then it will be merged with this second empty line instead of being merged with the artist tag) such as an unused Custom Tag
3 - Artist

Here is the result :

First album with long title : the second line attributed to Custom Tag 16 (always empty) is used to display the end of the title.
Second album : short title so the empty tag is not even displayed.

Hi everyone.

Using MusicBee is now my daily routine and I enjoy it tremendously !

I realised that I faced a small problem with long album titles in the Cover Art View Main Panel.

For example, with an album named "Star Wars I : The Phantom Menace (Expanded Edition)" or someting like that, the title is too long to be entirely displayed.

I've tried to activate the option "merge fields (so long text wraps to the next line)" but I can't see any difference...

Would it be possible :
- either to automaticaly continue to the next line ?
- or to display the whole title in the Expanded Panel that appears when you click on the album
- or to simply have the whole title appear when the mouse is over the title (either under the album cover or in the expanded panel) ?

Hi from France !

Unfortunately, I face the same problem as #124.
I'm using the UPnP plugin to stream music to a Freebox (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freebox) connected to a basic Samsung TV.
Just as #124 described it, everything's fine until for no particular reason MusicBee starts eating up the CPU and RAM.
It eventually crashes with the following message :

I'm not sure what information I can provide, but I gladly will.

And now for something completely different, a little bit of personal history : I used Winamp (because it was Winamp) from time immemorial until it died, then used AIMP (because it looked like Winamp), then used MediaMonkey (because I was looking for a true music manager), then discovered and switched to MusicBee (because it's simply the best)

Hi (from France too, but I feel obliged to write in English as long as we speak in "public").

I also reported a similar problem. Until Steven finds the time to fix the bug, I had to buy the Airplay plugin (10 €) to stream music to my audio amplifier. There is, unfortunately, a few second gap between the moment you click on the Play button on your computer and the moment the music actualy starts playing on the amplifier, particularly when for the first track, when your computer needs to connect to the amplifier. I just play a few seconds of a silent track and then my album. I didn't find any other solution.

PS :

I now use drag and drop to associate albums with a Keyword tag (for soundtracks, it correspond to the type of film : history, action, war, sci-fi, etc.).


When I edit keywords manualy, I can set multiple keywords, simply separating them by a ";"
Yet, when I use drag and drop, I can't do it : if I first drag and drop an album on, say, "History" and then on "War", the latter erases the first instead of being added to it. It is normal ?

one thing i notice is your panel arrangement dialog overlaps the buttons. Is that because your screen is not high enough? If thats not the case, would you mind sending me a link to your settings (help/ support/ view settings) as i am not able to reproduce that

It only overlaps it with I expand the options.
As for my screen : 13.3 inch, 16:9, 2560x1440 pixel
