In the dowload page for the just released final 3.1 version it says MusicBee is compatible with Windows Vista. Such is not the case though, for I tried to install the portable version but the program doesn't open. Nothing happens when I double click on the MusicBee icon. I guess I'll have to stick with version 3.0. Pity!

This doesn't happen in version 3.0.6190.

Hi Steven, thanks for your reply. I'm sorry but I don't have another computer with a newer version of Windows at the moment. Maybe you're right and it is probably Vista related. It's a pity if you don't have time to investigate because I really like MusicBee and depend on it, but I understand things move on. Cheers!

I'm still stuck with the same problem. I downloaded the latest v3.1 patch (3.1.6147), replaced the previous musicbee.exe file, but cannot make it work. I even uninstalled my antivirus app (MacAfee), to exclude any possible action from it, but nothing happens when I try to launch the program. I ran out of ideas, maybe some other user had the same problem and was able to solve it. Please help!

Thanks Redwing for your reply. Unfortunately your suggestions didn't work. MusiBee.exe is already whitelisted in my security software. When I double click and nothing happens I can't see anything in Windows task manager. I also rebooted the computer but to no avail.

Bug Reports / CANNOT OPEN NEW 3.1 VERSION
« on: October 26, 2016, 10:04:29 PM »
Hi,
For some reason I'm not able to launch the new 3.1 version of MusicBee. I downloaded the zip file, opened it and replaced the previous version of the executable (version 3.0.6142). When I hover the mouse over the MusicBee.exe file it says version 3.1.6143 dated 25/10/2016 time 18:43. When I doubleclick the file nothing happens. After returning to the previous version there's nothing in the error log.
If it matters mine is a portable version of MusicBee and I'm on Windows Vista.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Cheers!

MusicBee version 3.0.6073. Artist pictures continue to show in rotation, but bios don't show, message says "no artist biography", even for popular artists such as Black Sabbath.
EDIT: Some artists do show up, but most don't.

Trying to open the expanded panel in Artists tab I got this error message:

Sorry to hear that. In that case I guess I'll stick to Foobar then. No big deal.

Dowloaded one DSD 128 file (actually .dsf extension). At first this DSD file did not play. On the second try it played OK. However no such luck with DTS-encoded files, they still won't play. What can be done next? Thanks in advance.

I don't have any DSD files. I'll find one and will report after. Thank you.

Questions / DTS-encoded FLAC files
« on: May 26, 2016, 11:06:46 PM »
I have several DTS-encoded Flac files and can't make MusicBee to play them (they play fine in Foobar though). Tried to search the forum but couldn't find a suitable answer. Perhaps some of you more experienced guys can help me. Thanks!
