Questions / Backup ratings and library
« on: July 28, 2022, 11:00:14 PM »
I have a thumbdrive with all my music and also the two MB playlists I use: a 5 star rating list and a no star rating list. (and all of this is on my Android 10 phone too, where I use GMM).

Anyway, I opened my MB to do some manual rating work and found that all the songs with no star won't play on MB, in fact I've somehow, in my futzing, seemed to have removed almost 4,000 unrated songs from MB ... GOOD GRIEF!.  After futzing around and not finding a solution I have concluded that I might need to reload all the songs onto the computer via Windows explorer and the thumbdrive,  along with a clean version of MB (I have version 3.4.7792).  But how do I get those VERY IMPORTANT ratings moved back into MB?

Here are my library settings: perhaps they reveal my stupidity in a way that can be solved:  https://imgur.com/xaALhbP

Questions / Have I lost my MB ratings forever?
« on: July 28, 2022, 10:08:51 PM »
Hi
Three problems:
First, I opened MB to update some ratings (I rate songs as either 5 stars or 1 star as I listen on GMM and manually change the ratings on MB by adding the 5 stars and entirely deleting the songs with 1 star: which means that on GMM I have songs with either 5 stars or no stars ).

I'd done nothing with my computer or MB but when I opened it I found that only my 5 star songs show up.  I have all of the songs backed up on a thumb drive that I sync all of the songs now and then.  I popped it in and all of the music now appeared in my library.  WHEW.  But, no ...  I then realized, after playing a couple of test songs with no stars, that the library indeed appears to have all the songs, but the no star songs are only on the thumb drive.  In other words I still don't have those unrated songs showing up in MB via my hard drive.  Yikes. Where are they?

Second, I know the files are available on the hard drive and the thumbdrive, and on my android phone, but if I just give up the current situation, is there a way to load the songs via the thumbdrive or phone and keep the ratings intact?  THAT is my biggest worry, as I have been curating my library for some years now.

And third, I now have a red x appearing beside songs in the library that were found on the thumbdrive.  Assuming, with your help, I "find" those lost unrated songs via MB on my hard drive, can I remove those x's somehow?

Portable Devices / android wifi sync failures
« on: February 20, 2021, 07:45:30 PM »
Hi
I have been unable to wifi sync my moto g7 phone (android 10) from 3.3.7491to Gone Mad Music even though I have authorized wifi sync in MB and have synced the device via cable before.  I have all of my music included in 15 playlists (of approx 6600 songs).

Today, I tried the wifi sync a couple of times and it always stops, sharing various errors that are listed below.
I tried doing it two way sync with only the ratings done on the phone to move to the computer, and only the playlists (or only the music library without anything else) to move to the phone from the computer.

I'm at a loss.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Questions / Re: GMMP and Musicbee playlists and files
« on: July 30, 2020, 03:46:30 PM »
PS
I have tried importing the YES playlist and "the following playlist failed to import" ... and yet a non functional playlist by that name is found in c:\storage\0\music\...  , and mb does show the list as seen in the screenshot linked below

Thanks again for any help.

Questions / GMMP and Musicbee playlists and files
« on: July 30, 2020, 03:24:52 PM »
Hi
I use both Music Bee (mb) and Gone Mad Music Player (gmmp).

I've begun curating my music on mb anew (about 6000 songs).  And I drag about one-third of my music onto my motorola phone and listen on gmmp.

I also have created 2 playlists on gmmp (YES and NO) which I'd like to use to clean up songs on mb (if a song is NO I will delete it permanently and if it is YES I will keep it ... and later add ratings on mb ... and later add those songs to various mb  playlists.

Is there a simple way of syncing (wired) the two playlists?  Or, if not, perhaps a way of simply dragging the gmmp playlisted songs into 2 discrete locations on mb?

As the above shows, I'm a bit of a lunk about technical matters. https://getmusicbee.com/forum/Smileys/default/embarrassed.gif But the music really matters to me and I think these two programs will work out (and keep me free of the corporate/internet giants).

So, thank you for any help.
