Bug Reports / Re: Original Year tag doesn't appear for some files
« on: June 02, 2016, 03:07:22 PM »
MB shouldnt have any problems reading that tag. Did you define your own custom tag for original year using the "Define New Tags" dialog or did you map the predefined "Original Year" in the Tags (1)/ custom tags panel ?
Ah! That was it... I had it set to "Save to MB database only" instead of the predefined tag. I had totally forgotten that it was something that needed to be set (or that I had set for this).

I don't see the point but... here you go:

The files seem to be properly tagged but this particular tag isn't displayed in the "Original Year" column nor under the album name (I configured it that way).

And here the same problem occurs but I thought it was even stranger since the info appears for the first medium.

All files are mp3 and were tagged with Picard 1.3.2 (id3v2.4) and I'm using MB 3.0.5995.

Beyond MusicBee / Re: MusicBrainz Picard q & a thread

How did you set MB and Picard so that MusicBrainz IDs can be read and not rewritten by MusicBee (the ALL CAPS issue with id3v2.4 tags)

C:\Users\yourname\AppData\Roaming\MusicBee\mb_LyricsReloaded\providers\genius.com.yml is usually the correct path.

working fine here. Are you using a recent version and if so, check your "Play Now" action in the Now Playing settings panel
I’m using 5900 and I’m not sure what setting you’re referring to but they look fine unless the context menu option follows the “double-click” settings.
It wouldn’t explain why the folders are added in reverse order though.

When I use “Play with Musicbee” from a folder context menu on Windows (10 x64):

The tracks aren’t played but they’re queued last instead.

If that folder contains multiple sub-folders, they’re added in the reverse order (discs 3, 2 & 1 for example).

when selecting multiple files, if the album or album artist are not consistent then that dialog is opened ie. there isnt a single album artist/album to download a picture for
That makes sense. But in my example(s), album artist and album title are consistent.

The search item "Search Internet for picture" does not display the right window for VA albums. I get "Auto-Tag: Update Missing Artwork" instead of the usual "Artwork: name of a track" with a selection of pictures from iTunes, last.fm, Google and fanart.tv

The artwork is not displayed for these VA albums even though there's a picture file present in the folder.
its working fine for me and i havent made any changes around this. Can you post a screenshot so i can see the picture you right clicked on and also the dialog that pops up

are you using the version from yesterday?
if so, what do you mean by "playlist view" - in your video you are doing this in the search results and that works fine for me
If I'm in the Now Playing tab using the Playlist view, I have the same issue. And yes, I'm using build 5876.

I don't see the setting either when in now playing tab. Probably an oversight unless it's intended.

I am not sure the OP was using the Now Playing tab? At least I can't find a way to get 'Track Information' showing at all in that tab.

And, wouldn't it also be contradicting to be in the 'Now Playing' tab, and having an option for 'selected' there?
It seems logical that all the info in that tab should be limited to 'now playing'.
I often want to check tracks or do stuff from my Now Playing "playlist". I used to work fine in 2.5.
What's the point of removing features for that particular tab?

There's also some elements missing in the right-click menu in the playlist view only in "Now Playing" (like "Search Internet for picture")
