Questions / Filters using Column Browser
« on: November 24, 2020, 08:32:48 PM »
Hello, is there any way to set up the column browser in a way that when you click on a filter in one column, the content  on the other columns is filtered accordingly regardless of how the column values are arranged in the column browser?

For example, in my MB I have the column browser set up with the following values and order:

Album Artist - Year - Album - Artist - Genre

If I select a filter in Album Artist then the content displayed across the rest of the columns is reduced to show years, albums, artists and genres matching the Album Artist filter.

I would like to be able to select a filter in Genre and have the content being displayed in the other columns reduced to the album artists, years, albums, and artists matching that genre.

Is it possible to achieve this without moving the order of the columns i.e. moving genre to the firs column?

Thanks and regards.

Questions / Re: Playlist Wizard
« on: April 04, 2019, 11:42:11 PM »
Thanks for your response.

Oh, I realise they now both have the same behaviour of creating a playlist named 'Playlist' or 'Playlist (1)'.

I believe a former feature was to prompt you to write the name of the playlist on a pop up window when clicking on New Playlist. Has this feature been removed?

Questions / Playlist Wizard
« on: April 04, 2019, 09:27:31 PM »
I have MB 3.37016 installed in two Macs running Windows 10 VMs with Parallels.

In one VM when I create a playlist I get a Wizard to help me decide the name and properties of the playlist.

In the other one, I don't.

a) Is there a setting or some way to set up MB to prompt the wizard?

b) Or is it possible that my MB installation is corrupted and if so, how can I resolve it? I have already tried to re-install MB without uninstalling it.

Many thanks in advance for any help.

Bug Reports / Re: Auto-organise sensitive to capitalisation
« on: January 24, 2019, 01:45:34 PM »
Many thanks for your help, Steven. I am using a Win 10 VM on Mac.

I have replaced the files and this is what happened:

I organised the files with the Tools>Organise Files option not selecting the 'allow existing files to be replaced' and the affected files have been renamed respecting capitalisation.

The files then do not appear in auto-organise anymore.

Thanks for your help with this.

I noticed one thing while testing:

Should the 'allow existing files to be replaced' rename the files rather than sending them to the Trash? If this is selected files are sent to the Trash.

I noticed another change linked to capitalisation. When using the Sort By functionality in the Main Pane, songs and albums are grouped using capitalisation.

For example, albums are grouped and sorted by WILCO first and then Wilco.

Bug Reports / Auto-organise sensitive to capitalisation
« on: January 17, 2019, 03:44:40 PM »
Hello,

Not sure if this is a bug on 3.3.6904:

I have an issue whereby auto-organise tries to change the capitalisation of some files incorrectly (see screenshot). If I click on the Reorganise button, I get an error message saying that 'musicbee cannot create a file when that file already exists'.

If it is not a bug... Any ideas on how to resolve it?

MusicBee Wishlist / Remove from Playlist Setting
« on: November 02, 2018, 10:25:50 AM »
In the past, when a song was removed from the MB library it was not removed from playlists. This proved useful when replacing files as there was no need to use the Replace functionality.

Would it be possible to have a setting to not remove songs from playlists when they are removed from the library? Alternatively, is there a way to achieve this?

Many thanks.

Perfect. Found it and changed it. Many thanks.

I just replaced the files by the patched version you just posted.

In order to change the configuration line, should I wait until you post an exe file?

Note that I cannot find the musicbee3settings.ini file in the Program Folders location.

In the Music/MusicBee location I have a MusicBeeLibrarySettings.ini file with no <ENV_VerifyFileMove>false</ENV_VerifyFileMove> line

Apologies if I am missing something.

Perfect. Thanks a lot for your help with this, Steven.

I am using http://www.mediafire.com/file/ryixgds99s75bjd/MusicBee.zip and it seems to be working when I add new files that had the issue previously and they seem fine.

I also turned on auto-sweep now and the issue does not occur.

I am using auto-organise only (no auto-sweep) and monitoring only J:/Music/New Music and the issue is not happening with the new version you posted.

Do I need to make any changes to know whether it is working?

I am going to run a couple of tests and report back. So far it seems okay. I will find some of the files that I removed previously due to the issue and then report back.
