SOLVED

I landed here via the thread regarding the problems with AAC streams and installed the 2.4.5.21 from 2021-04-23. Some streams now run with it, albeit partly very limited, others not at all. Absolute Radio runs flawlessly via VLC, with MusicBee does there unfortunately still nothing at all.

Do others have better experience or other ideas in this regard?

//EDIT: Absolute Radio works with MusicBee without https

I find here in the forum only discussions concerning a virus attack of the program. For me, Microsoft Defender now apparently reports the infection of a artist information.

Is such a process known here?

I have implemented support for previews only from the iTunes Store - there isnt any way i know of to support streaming of the full tracks in MusicBee when you have an Apple Music subscription.
Contrary to Apple & Spotify's restrictions, Deezer's API grants full song playback via the API.

That was very comfortable with the Groove Music PlugIn (RIP) back then - I would jump around if that was possible again with Deezer. For all I care, also with any other service (Napster apparently offers a comparably open API?) - it doesn't matter to me who gets my 10 bucks a month for music streaming. It would much rather matter that I can add the music to my existing MusicBee archive, as the integration of my MP3s into Spotify/Deezer is a mess.

It would be wonderful if that is somehow possible. Maybe you'd be interested in looking into the Deezer API (or some other comparable one).

Many thanks for everything.

Napster Developer API

Is there a little hope these days as Microsoft pulled the plug for the WMA-"Plays For Sure"-service? I was very happy with the integration of Xbox Music/Groove. As Microsoft pulled the trigger here (and on every second customer service within the last years) as well, I would like to use another streaming service. An integration with MusicBee would be the killer-feature that I'm looking for.

Thank you so much, Steven. I never expected to get such a great experience for Xbox Music/Groove when I posted the suggestion.

Today I tried the "send playlist to Xbox music" feature for the first time. I'm not sure if I understand the feature wrong or if it is broken at the moment. If I send my local playlist via MusicBee, the app is busy for a little while, says that the playlist was sent except for x songs. Nevertheless, when I go to Groove Web there is no new playlist appearing.

Additionaly, it would be great if it would be possible to add songs the drag-and-drop/ctrl+click way within the music explorer in MusicBee.

You are doing a very big favour to music lovers around the globe.

In my case DirectSound was broken after I installed a non-Microsoft-driver for my soundcard. In Settings -> Player you might have another option than DirectSound that might work. In my case that helped.

This.

I am a last.fm-user for 9 years now, I loved their radio and I used the subscription even more when I discovered MusicBee. But since their radio is gone and ex.fm does not exist anymore - would an access to Xbox Music be an option?

Many times I use the MusicBee Auto-DJ to keep on listening to similar artists in my archive when an album is finished. It would be great to have access to unknown, similar artists again.

Thank you.
