Within Preferences>Library>Music Library i have 'auto organise media files' ticked.
Any media files (.mp3) placed within my monitored folder are not being moved by Musicbee to the Musicbee music folder.
If i within Musicbee music panel right click a music file and select Edit>Properties the shown path is to the monitored folder and not to a folder within Musicbee.
If i look in the Musicbee Music folder no folder exists for that file

Musicbee used to auto move any music i placed in the monitored folder i assume I've either inadvertently changed a setting or a setting has ? corrupted

General Discussions / Ubuntu, Wine + Musicbee
« on: December 27, 2018, 04:31:30 PM »

I've just installed Ubuntu  and am slowly finding my way around - not as difficult as i expected

Looks like im going to have to install wine to install musicbee - or is there a linux music player that will work with the on nas file system created by musicbee without messing up that file system ?

Can you give more specific help regarding what i have to install, is it just the main Wine thing or some of the other Wine things. im assuming that installing musicbee will become obvious when wine is installed - though no doubt ill have more questions

any help appreciated

Thanks for the reply
I'm now ok with the new tab and displaying by artist or album or whatever but can not find away to display/filter by genre/tag. the things i have tried like 'top left select man panel, select customise panel dont seem to have an affect
though i can do a search on the genre (if i know the term) but thats not a great solution

Questions / Tabs and Tags

MusicBee has Tabs
Can I on separate tabs show Artists/Albums by Tag ?
Can I have a tab that just shows “Medieval’ or Rock or whatever – as long as those tags are extant
If so how
Thanks for any help

MusicBee Wishlist / new music still being processed warning
« on: May 04, 2017, 09:06:50 AM »

Would it be possible to show within MusicBee that new content is still being processed (moved into MusicBee) and that the outside of MusicBee content should not be deleted.

Maybe this is already extant and I dont know where to find/see it

A couple of times over over the period I've used MusicBee I've had a message pop up saying something along the lines of ‘content not found at wherever’ and I've dismissed the popup not realising its significance. Today I just realised the significance of that popup – yes I'm not the quickest of thinkers.
The popup obviously means that MusicBee had not finished moving found new music into MusicBee library before I'd deleted them from their outside of MusicBee position. Its going to take MusicBee some time to move large numbers of new content – I now realise.

Questions / Re: show as collections
« on: March 20, 2016, 10:50:48 PM »
thanks for the replys
groupings, could you be a bit more specific please
i originally did have them as as "studio 67 disc 1", "studio 67 disc 2" etc and they appeared as stand alone albums, i then changed them to all the same name "studio 67" but as "cd 1 0f 6" cd 2 of 6" etc they then appeared within "studio 67" and separated but with no way of knowing which was which cd. I'm not to keen on just trying things to see what happens in case it screws things up and i cant undo the changers.

Questions / show as collections
« on: March 20, 2016, 12:17:30 PM »
in the main panel all the artists are shown by a thumbnail a name and the number of albums (not sure what this layout is called)
If i click on a artist thumbnail then underneath all the albums are show by thumbnail and name
fine up to now but how do I show collections. ie Hendrix 'Studio 67' has 6 cd's, how do i have a 'studio 67' thumbnail (under Hendrix) that when clicked shows the 6 cd's below (Studio 67). At the moment they just show under the main thumbnail but not grouped as a collection

Questions / Re: Musicbee has stopped moving files
« on: February 08, 2016, 09:50:57 PM »
Hello & thanks for the reply
Already had those set
My library & 'new music' folders are on my NAS and it seems MusicBee has decided it doesn't like 'New Music' being on the NAS, if I move it to my C drive and set it up to scan that it does work. Bit strange as it used to work ok with new music being on the NAS ?  not to worry as long as everything gets moved to where its supposed to be then thats good.

Questions / Musicbee has stopped moving files
« on: February 08, 2016, 01:09:59 AM »
Hi
Musicbee has stopped moving files from the 'new music' folder to the inbox (or library)
The auto import stopped working sometime ago but i was still able to run the 'import/add files' routine to get them in to musicbee.
But now they just stay in new music, they are listed and playable but in edit the path shows them to be in new music

I'm assuming something profile wise is corrupted ?
Does anyone know how to fix this

Beyond MusicBee / music player for my old dad
« on: November 21, 2014, 04:30:05 PM »
Hello
This is just a thinking about it thing

My dad is 92 and has decided he wants to revisit/listen to all the music he used to like when he was a nipper. Getting the stuff isn't a problem Ebay, Amazon etc. Theres also torrent stuff thats not available to buy.
He's got a CD player which he can work ok, so up to this point no problem. However he's decided he only likes certain tracks and can I burn him compilation disks – bit surprised he knew about 'burning disks'. Burning disks wouldn't be a problem.

But I was wondering if there was a way (a really simple way) to let him use 'play lists' - which I would compile for him.
I've looked for a music player of some sort that can access digital media (hdd, card, NAS*) that is 'simple' to use and doesn’t cost a fortune, no luck. I've wondered about using a cheap tablet with maybe an app that was child orientated – and so having big blocky icons/sections. We are talking big fingers and not great eyesight.
A tablet could contain the tracks or/and be wifi to the NAS. Output ? Direct wired or also wifi to speakers ?

Does anyone have experience or thoughts on what/how I might buy or set something up that let him play his music.
Remember 'simple'

*my own music is on my NAS which can be accessed from anywhere in the house (using MB of course, including his stuff wouldn’t be a problem.
