I have created a plugin that displays playcount statistics from last.fm (similar to the foo_silk plugin). When installed the plugin creates a new tab in the "Playing Track" panel (viewable via the Now Playing node or as a separate tab configured via the Panel Layout button by the search box). It works with MusicBee 2 or above
(http://getmusicbee.com/images/forum/LastFmStats.png)
it can show the top 20/50/100 playcounts over 12 Months; 6 Months; 3 Months; 1 Month; 1 Week for your:
- albums
- artists
- tracks
right click on the panel to change the settings
Installation
for MusicBee version 3.0+:
unzip the plugin: http://www.mediafire.com/file/3td2dmt2hd6vdk1/mb_LastFmStatsPlugin.zip/file (http://www.mediafire.com/file/3td2dmt2hd6vdk1/mb_LastFmStatsPlugin.zip/file)
- copy the files to the Plugins sub-folder of MusicBee
-
Excellent, thanks so much Steven, looks really good.
-
very nice, thanks very much as always steven. works perfectly.
-
nice one
-
Very cool plugin. Thanks Steven.
One thing I've noticed. I usually have 5 tabs open; Music, Playing Track, Visualizer, Now Playing, and Inbox. If I click on the new tab "Last.fm Stats" in Now Playing, works great. When I switch to the Playing Track tab, where the new "Last.fm Stats" tab is also visible, when I click on the "Last.fm Stats" tab, the panel remains blank.
Is this something in my setup?
Anyway, small thing as this new plugin rocks!

Is this something in my setup?
if i understand the issue correctly this should fix it:
http://musicbee.niblseed.com/V2/MusicBee_Exe_Patched.zip
the plugin link in the first post is updated.
You can now configure the period in each columns as:
Overall; 12 Months; 6 Months; 3 Months; 1 Month; 1 Week
Also it appears last.fm has changed the api slightly for personal image sizes, so the plugin has been changed to accomodate that
-
I found a bug.
If you set it to show 50 or 100 items a number of items in the end is not shown and you cant scroll down to see them
-

the link in the first post has been updated to fix that
-
Thanks Steven. The plugin now works perfectly with both the Playing Track tab and the Now Playing tab. Plus the adjustable time periods for the three columns is a nice addition.
-
Very Nice thanx :D
-
The plugin has been updated so you can now configure it to show 2-4 columns, and each column can now be set to show a specific data type
eg. column 1 shows Overall Artist; column 2 shows Overall Album; columns 3&4 hidden
see the first post for the updated plugin link
-
Hello, a minor bug.
When you first un-hide the 4th column, the 4th column appears with no information. However, when you change the duration (Overall, 12 Months, etc.), it shows everything as expected.
EDIT: Actually, it only happens when the 4th column has "1 Month Top Tracks" enabled. Nothing shows.
-
strange - its only top tracks over 1month that has the problem as far as i can see, and its last.fm itself which is returning no data so nothing i can do about it
-
Ah OK. Just wanted to make sure it could be reproduced.

the artist/album/track text can now be clicked (left or right click) and can perform any of the following actions:
- open artist page on last.fm (valid only for artist links)
- find matching tracks (matches are opened in the library tab or a new tab if no library tab is open)
- find similar artists (valid only for artist links)

Hi. I've copied the dll from the download (just one file in the download right ?) and placed it in the Plugins sub-folder.
I've restarted MusicBee bu am not seeing the Last.fm Stats tab on the bottom track & artist info panel. Other plugins I just installed are working ok such as Recommendations. Am I doing something incorrectly ?
Brian.
**I've the latest 2.0 MB beta installed.

welcome to the forum Brian.
have you enabled the plugin in preferences/plugins?
-
Brilliant. Thanks for the reply. Working now.
I tried to enable it and it said it was blocked. I right clicked the dll properties->unblock (had to unblock as it said it came from another computer) and restarted musicbee and working great now. Thanks :)
-
no problem, happy to help.
-
Just discovered this neat plug-in. Thanks!
-
Here is plugin's wiki page (http://musicbee.wikia.com/wiki/Last.fm_Plugins). Please update it if plugin is updated.
-
I've been using this plugin for over a year now, but I just noticed that it doesn't seem to update the artist info when a track by a different artist begins playing. It continues to display the artist information for whatever artist was in the Now Playing list when Musicbee was launched. If I close, and then re-launch, the artist info updates, but then doesn't continue to update during that session until I close/re-open. I'm running MB 2.5.5447 and I believe the latest version of this plug-in which hasn't had a recent update according to this thread. Any thoughts?
-
Just out of curiosity, is there any way to refresh the stats without restarting MusicBee?

Not that I know of, but my issue is with the "Last.fm" tab of this window. On my Muscibee set up, when I go to the "Playing Track" tab, there are 5 sub-tabs created by this plugin (Details, Last.fm, Wikipedia, youtube, Last.fm Stats). The Last.fm tab features information on the artist currently playing as well as a photo show of band pictures and then Recent and Upcoming Releases. But now that I'm going through this, I'm noticing that none of these other tabs (Details, Wiki,) are updating to the artist that is currently playing.
-
I probably didn't put this in the proper thread. My issue really isn't with the stats. It's with the "Playing Track" tab which "Last.fm Stats" is one of the choices ,but the specific problem is that the "Details", "Last.fm", "Wikipedia", and "YouTube" functions don't update with the current playing artist like they used to do.
-
that has nothing what to do with this plugin. I would say you have opened the panel for a specific artist by clicking on the artist in the Now Playing panel. Close the tab and open the "Playing Track" panel via the panel layout button
-
Thanks. That did the trick. Apologize for putting this here. For some reason I was thinking this plugin is what generated those features in the Playing Track tab.
-
I still don't get where this plug-in is supposed to show up. All I get is this dialogue:
-
see the instructions on the first post. The "Track and Artist" panel has since been renamed to "Playing Track" panel which is available in the "Now Playing" node or as a separate panel configured via the Panel Layout button by the search box
-
I just dont find it. I don't have any option either in the "Playing Track" panel nor in the "Now Playing" node.
-
@ so_la_la
it should show up here
(http://i.cubeupload.com/HeJKsw.jpg)
you may need to restart your system. If I remember correctly, I had too for it to show up when first installing the plugin
-
SOLVED.
Thanks everyone for putting up with me!
-
The plugin has installed and is enabled but all I get is "unable to load from last.fm at this point in time". The internet is fine and I am logged in to the musicbee last.fm scrobbler. I am using 2.5 latest beta.
-
just tried now and all working fine. Nothing has been changed on the MusicBee side and the last.fm api hasnt been changed.
If you still have problems, check you security software is not blocking musicbee. And you might try using the fiddler call to see what messages are being passed to/ from last.fm
-
Thanks for the reply. Disabled the Norton firewall and antivirus and still no show. What is the fiddler call?
-
Ok downloaded fiddler. Nice app!! Looks like no calls are being made to lastFm from using the tab at all. Not sure why as Norton is not stopping it.
-
One of the posts talks about two files. All I get when I download is a .dll. Looking at all the other plugins there is normally an xml file or other config files as well. Am I missing a files?
-
I fixed the issue with a clean install of Windows 8.1 and Musicbee.
-
Love this, It should be on the next update. +1 ::)
-
using rc3, windows 10. there's a problem - native musicbee lastfm plugin says my login/password are icorrect(((((
-
last.fm is having issues right now. search the forum and you will find other threads about it.
-
The same problem with me. Yes in the Last.fm forum other people have the problem: http://www.lastfm.de/group/Last.fm+Web+Services/forum/21604/_/2277482
-
Not sure if this is an issue with the stats plugin or related to the last.fm issues mentioned above, but the column for "3 Months" is displaying my Overall stats. This seems to be the only time period with an issue (Overall, 12, 6, 1 month all seem to be displaying correctly). I first noticed this about 2 months ago, but didn't post anything about it due to the other issues. Now I'm not so sure if this is related. I'm using the latest 2.5 release. Anybody else having same issue and is it with the plugin or caused by last.fm?
-
My stats are showing this also where 3 month is the same as overall.
-
Hi, great plugin, but i have an issue.
I run 3 columns one with overall top artist, one with overall top track and one with top track for the last month.
The two first works as they should, but the third one puts them in the correct order but puts in the overall values.
Is there a known fix for that?
http://imgur.com/MTLANJc
-
Great plugin indeed!
Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to work in MusicBee3 (woks fine in MB2, system is Win10 x64).
Would you kindly update it to be MB3 compatible as well?
Thank you!

Hi, is it possible to make a version of this that displays stats from music listened to in the Musicbee library? This plugin is exactly what I wanted as I love this kind of stats and was hoping I could find something for that, but I don't use Last.fm, I just listen to the files in my library.
-
Hi, any chance to see this addon added as a node in "services" category rather than a tab in the now playing bar? it would be probably more easy to use, especially with 50 or 100 elements displayed.

There's a library report function that does that already. If it's not detailed enough, try the Additional Tagging & Reporting Tools plugin.

Ah, I see. Seems to only do all-time stats and not past month/year/etc but I guess I can live without that. Thanks!
-
Okay there's something I don't get...I just installed this plugin for Musicbee 3.0 but where can I found it? I don't have any new tab...

its only available in the Now Playing Bar which is an element that needs to be included in the Panel Layout.
at some point i will make it available as a node in Services
-
I don't use LastFM either but I would like to see something like this for the Music Library as well. Any chance that will happen?
-
for musicbee 3 only
i have made a change so the Last.fm stats is now accessed from the Services node in the lest navigator and shows in the entire main panel
http://www.mediafire.com/download/mvb48tr92ed1vc6/mb_LastFmStatsPlugin%28for_MB_V3%29.zip
you will need the very latest MB3 version:

Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but I've copied and installed the files in both zip files above, and I'm still not finding the stats in the Navigator. Can anyone post an image of how this is supposed to look in MB3?
<EDIT> NEVERMIND! I didn't have services turned on. Everything's all set. Looks and runs great.

@ superstar19
You did put the extracted mb_LastFmStatsPlugin.dll in the Plugins sub-folder?
Just saw your edit - glad you got it working :)

I have this problem as well. It wasn't a big deal to me when last.fm was using their old site, but now that they updated I never go to last.fm and just use the MusicBee Last.fm stats plugin.
I'm running 2.5.5447 and just reinstalled the plugin. The problem still persists.

I have created a plugin that displays playcount statistics from last.fm (similar to the foo_silk plugin). When installed the plugin creates a new tab in the "Playing Track" panel (viewable via the Now Playing node or as a separate tab configured via the Panel Layout button by the search box). It works with MusicBee 2 or above
(http://getmusicbee.com/images/forum/LastFmStats.png)
it can show the top 20/50/100 playcounts over 12 Months; 6 Months; 3 Months; 1 Month; 1 Week for your:
- albums
- artists
- tracks
right click on the panel to change the settings
Installation
for MusicBee version 3.0+:
unzip the plugin: http://www.mediafire.com/file/3td2dmt2hd6vdk1/mb_LastFmStatsPlugin.zip/file (http://www.mediafire.com/file/3td2dmt2hd6vdk1/mb_LastFmStatsPlugin.zip/file)
- copy the files to the Plugins sub-folder of MusicBee
Thank you, Steven. The plug works smooth as butter on 2020 April. on Bee vers. 3.3.7367 (by the way could we rename MB version to reflect year and month) it is waaaaaaay more convening.
