The dark alter ego of Jistme the Bee:
(nice for late at night, and plasma/lcd tv's)

And here is an old version for MusicBee v2.x:

Very nice indeed, I was looking forward to your dark version!
The green highlight in the menus in a bit bright though, it's hard to read the text you have selected.
Edit: when you have tabs in the caption bar there is a white outline around each one, it's quite striking and not very nice compared to the rest of the skin, if they could look the same as the ones in your screenshot it would be perfect.
-
If bright green appears anywhere, it is because in my setup/settings it doesn't show, but I suspect somewhere else it might.
Could you post a screenshots of that?
I will correct the tabs colors when shown in the caption bar.

I remember you saying something about that in the other thread but it's not such a harsh contrast in your other orange skin. Here's a screenshot, you can see the tab issue and the green - http://i.imgur.com/4aPpU.jpg

I fixed the tabs, but I can't find how to fix 'your' green in the drop down menu's.
In my setup it's a kind of blue, and it's a value I searched for to change before, but I haven't been successful to find it, so my other skins will probably suffer the same problem...

(you and me left vs. right)
Hopefully some other skinner can help me with this?

That's pretty weird ???
What version of MB do you use? I'm using the latest beta, I wonder if that is the reason we have different looking skins? I just noticed the menu button is different as well.
-
2.0.4576
I changed the menu button together with the tabs. Just download again...
I suspect somehow in my system the concerning drop down menu element in the skin is overruled by something else. I just don't have a clue by what.
-
Oh well. The tabs and menu button look much better now, thanks!
-
Found it.
I have my Windows 7 in 'Windows Classic' theme. (don't like The Teletubbies, and that irritating Cleartype gives me headaches)
When I change the theme to anything but the classic view, I have the same colors as you.
The NightBee skin is now fixed and uploaded with these adjustments.
In my xml there are still some "0,255,0"s left.
I can spot no green items anywhere though, but if anyone does, please report.

Thanks jistme, that's fixed it. Fantastic skin now!
-
Thnx beeing good, that makes two with an exquisite but little awkward taste ;-)

I'm surprised more people haven't commented on this one to be honest, I think the colour scheme works really well.

Indeed, the colour scheme looks great and presents quite unique concept for dark skins.
Well done, Jistme :) Your skins are getting better and better with every release 8)
Skins are becoming one of the greatest opportunities MB has to offer for its users.

jistme, I've just noticed another little problem. Open up the auto album tagger, some of the fields like original filename can't be seen very easily.
-
Right!
"not very easily" is even an understatement...
I found that those filename colors are determined by: [id="Controls.InputControl.Disabled"]
This is an element for text and items you actually don't want/need to see clearly to show they're disabled, which is shared in some other settings panels.
Maybe Steven can change this sometime?
I think I found a good compromise anyway. I uploaded the updated version.
Let me know if this works o.k. for you too.
P.S.
While at it, the text color of the 'original titles' are determined by [id="Controls.InputControl.Modified"], which I think is also not quite appropriate.

Yeah, that works perfectly well now, that will make tagging albums a lot easier 8)
Thanks again!
-
Correction, I now see it is appropriate.
(it only shows color 'modified' when the suggested title differs from the current title)

Updated with some small refinements.
-
Updated the 'right drive' version since some proportions seem to have changed a little bit with the latest MusicBee 2.1 update.
-
Perfect skin for night.
however i was thinking, that if you can make a skin similar to "eclipse" that is available for mediamonkey.
here's the link : http://www.mediamonkey.com/addons/browse/item/eclipse-3/
i am looking for a skin that is dark and having blue or green or violet neon touch.
-
blackknight, you could open Jistme's skin in Notepad and change the colours yourself, for the text colours at least it would be quite easy.

Yup.. dats wat i'm looking for, but how can i get it?? also can the interface and fonts be little more shiny, otherwise its fine.
-
It's in my head and on my computer only.
Still working on it. If and when I get to have it to look right to my own satisfaction I will release it.
(and, if you promise not to 'shout' in other topics... ;-)
-
WOJAA!! Really NICE Jistme! :o
Very good chosen the cyan, green and orange tones, i did some captures to the tron movie some months ago and wasn't able to get something nice. I admire that concept a lot!
-
I really hope the Tron skin sees the light of day (or dark of night), it looks lovely.
-

-

-
Made some slight improvements.
-
Updated.
Track info panel and controls are now being re-positioned depending on whether 'spectrum', 'track rating' and 'last.fm love' are displayed or not.
-
This skin has been updated.
The download link has also been updated in the starting post of this topic.
Changed:
Under MusicBee v2.x it was not behaving very well with custom font types and sizes for the player info panel.
That should now have been vastly improved, and the skin is now also up to date for 'MusicBee v3demo'
(which is in development and in alpha stage at this moment of writing)
Please feel free to comment, be it good or bad.

The skin has been updated with many small improvements for use under MusicBee v3.

I just downloaded this skin because i really like it.
Now my MusicBee is in the colours like in your skin, but i do not have the same windows like in your preview. I miss the three columns where i can choose the songs (i highlighted it green in the screenshot). Does this skin only install the colours or did i make something wrong while installing it?
If a skins sets only the colours, not the columns/layout, how can i change it that it looks like in your preview? Or can i download another file where i also changes the columns/layout and everything else?

Welcome to the forum Viper73.
Skins can only define colours and icons, and in the case of xmlc (bitmapped) skins, the look and layout of the player panel bar.
You are looking for the 'Column Browser'.
By clicking the 'Arrange Panels' button, you can then activate it in the settings panel.
When the column browser is displayed in the main panel, you can right-click on it's header bar for further adjustments.
You could also create a keyboard shortcut and/or a toolbar button to quickly toggle it on/off.

Thank you for the information.
Now i have the layout like i want it. :)

Updated again, the Mini Player has been improved.
(needs MB 3.3.7299 or up to display as intended)
My apologies for this forum bomb (again ;-) , but it's probably useful to users of these skins that have subscribed so to get notifications on updates.
