Just fired off an email to you.  Pretty excited to try this skin, this could be the one that gets MusicBee the recognition it deserves, or at least a little more buzz.  Most people are comfortable with iTunes or their player of choice and don't want to bother with the learning curve associated with a new program, to their obvious detriment.  iTunes is nothing if not well-laid out and the design is intuitive - for the most part.  Can't wait to try this out!

This is great looking skin however I cannot get it to work. It is an xmlc file which confuses Windows for some reason and it does not recognize the extension. I still selected Notepad and saved to the usual Skins folder. When I select the skin, it displays the default black and white Music Bee skin. I could possibly be doing something wrong but I use the same method I do to download and save all other Music Bee skins.
Title: Re: iTunes Skin
Post by: cartman005 on November 30, 2011, 01:23:38 AM
Yes for bitmap skins, the extension must be .xmlc. It is displaying the default black and white because MusicBee can't read the skin if you changed the extension to .xml. Just download the file and move it to the Skins folder. No need to open it at all.

Not sure why, but mine doesn't look very good.  The play buttons are huge and overlap each other at the bottom of the window.  I have set my global text setting to 110 or 125% on all my computers, that's about the only thing I can think of to cause this.  Cartman:  I'm emailing a screenshot to you.

Post by: cartman005 on December 01, 2011, 01:26:05 AM
Yes, it is likely that you have your DPI set higher than 100%. If you are running Windows 7, you can check by just typing DPI into the Start menu. If it is at 125% or 150%, you might get that. I don't think there is anything I can do with the skin to change it. Have you tried any other bitmap skins? I'd be curious if they gave you the same issue.

Yep, I was running DPI at 110%  - it was fine when I reverted to 100%.

However, it doesn't look as smooth as the screenshot even at 100%.  Any ideas?

Thanks for your good work btw.

this version should resolve the DPI issue so you can return to 110%

the skin looks fine to me, so perhaps its somehow related to changing the DPI

Greb, I'm not sure what you mean. Can you clarify?

When some tracks are missing, they appear as lowlighted in MB.

But:

(http://i39.tinypic.com/iogd9l.jpg)

In your skin they appear alternatively normal and lowlighted. Both of them should be lowlighted (grey text).

I have made a few minor changes to the skin. Greb, I was unable to address the issue that you brought up yet. I haven't found any example of a skin without that issue.

Also, the skin needs a name. Since I can't call it "iTunes" and iBee is already taken, I was thinking something like Senuti (iTunes backwards)? It might be stupid lol, but if anyone has any suggestions, let me know.

Without a shadow of a doubt, the nicest, cleanest, most usable skin that exists for Musicbee.
Absolutely cracking work.

1 point to note for everyone else - I reinstalled musicbee the other day and also this skin, it looked...err rubbish.. until I checked the "skin windows borders" check box. Then magically it works.. So if you're wondering what the fuss is about because it doesn't look great on your machine, make sure that's ticked.

Absolutely cracking job, thank you.

it uses the same background colour as the defaults but you can override the foreground colour:

for the 1st row of an alternating row grid
  <element id="Content[TrackDetail].Body.Disabled" fg="170,170,70" />
for the 2nd row (which usually has a different background colour)
  <element id="Content[TrackDetail].ListAlternating.Disabled" fg="170,170,70" />

One small bug to report: when "Skin Window Borders" is not selected, one of the bitmaps is misaligned, causing a red line to appear. I'm using MusicBee 2.0.4445 on Windows 7 x64.

(Click for screenshot.) (http://kaelri.com/temp/fora/SSbeetunesredline.png)

I prefer to leave my borders unskinned, so it would be great to see a fix for this problem. Past that, this is an absolutely gorgeous recreation of iTunes. Thanks for the hard work. :)

Would be possible to post the skin just without the bitmap player?

The bitmap is really cool, but it doesn't allow to use the new flat player feature, a alternative thin player: http://getmusicbee.com/forum/index.php?topic=5910.0

Hi cartman005, I was wondering if there's a way to keep the blue highlight color instead of the grey lowlight color even when the panel is inactive in both Now Playing and Main View. Is it possible? =)

I've started a topic here if you didn't understand what I meant

Title: Re: beeTunes Skin
Post by: cartman005 on January 27, 2013, 11:34:41 PM
Yes. To do this, you have to change the color values of Panel.Body.Lowlight in the skin source file to match the values of Panel.Body.Highlight.

If I understood what you want, this (http://www37.zippyshare.com/v/95848640/file.html) should be it.

Hi, cartman005. I am the one who guided Lightblur to your thread. I think what Lightblur wants to change is bg value of Content[TrackDetail].Body.Lowlight so that it's the same as Content[TrackDetail].Body.Highlight. Perhaps Content[Artwork].Body.Lowlight, too, for artwork view. That's what I understood.
Title: Re: beeTunes Skin

You can't open that file directly. You have to open the source file that is in the .zip file on the first post of this thread. But that's a lot of work so I did it for you. But as redwing pointed out, I did the wrong value. I was thinking you meant a different highlight.

Here (http://www17.zippyshare.com/v/1669684/file.html) is the corrected file. Just download it and place it in the skins directory of your MusicBee installation (most likely C:\Program Files (x86)\MusicBee\Skins). Let me know if it is what you were looking for.

Hi there cartman005,
since your skin is my favourite, I wanted to ask you something, about a feature that I don't know if it's available, that I posted also on the Theater Mode forum.

Is it possible to ADD the image of the CD Case for the Album Arts?
I was thinking about a png file of a CD Case as layer. to recreate something similar to what AlbumPlayer does.

Thanks again for your great work!  :)

Sorry, I haven't checked this thread in a while. But no it is not possible for a skin to include a feature like that. That would be something that the developer, Steven, would need to implement.

Hi guys, I have updated the first post of this topic with a new version of this skin, modeled after iTunes 11. The old version, which was based on iTunes 10, will now be called "beeTunes Classic".

Hi cartman005!
Today I registered for this forum especially because I want to say Thank You for this wonderful skin (beeTunes Classic), which I love to use since a long time now. For me it is by far the most aesthetic skin for MB. Unfortunately most of the other skins are sometimes really shocking terrible so that I wouldn’t know what to do without it.
I also will never more dispense with MB. ;D

Cheers
Stimulator

PS
The beeTunes skin (not classic) isn’t working wright.  I made a snip but can't see a possibility to attach this...

you need v2.3 from the first topic on the forum for the new beeTunes skin

Please make sure that you are using the latest version if MusicBee because there was a problem with the track info text which is the problem I'm guessing that you are having. The issue is discussed here http://getmusicbee.com/forum/index.php?topic=11758.0 (http://getmusicbee.com/forum/index.php?topic=11758.0).

Also, here is a link on adding a screenshot if you still need to http://getmusicbee.com/forum/index.php?topic=3998.0 (http://getmusicbee.com/forum/index.php?topic=3998.0).

OK Thank You!

In the first instance 2.3.5133 and 2.3.5153 looked identical to me… -

I updated but now still one little glitch is to observe at the top left; ‘MusicBee’ letters on the Drop Down-Menu is a bit smudgy (only beeTunes skin NOT classic)

Yes I know what you are talking about with the menu. I think it has to do with the transparency setting I used. I will try and play around with getting that to look better this weekend.

Please let me know what you think!

hi :)
i really love your skin! But actually the white of itunes is very stressing for my eyes :(
can you please make a dark version of beeTunes 11? for me it will be awesome, and absolutely the best skin for the best player! For example i'm actually using Bee78,DarkMetro Red and Forest (Dark variants) only beacause they are all black.
thanks now for you answer, and more thanks if you'll makea black/dark version of your skin!

Have you tried the classic skin? It is not as bright. I can look into doing a black version but it kind of would defeat the point of being an iTunes look-alike. It won't be anytime soon but I'll see what I can come up with.

Please see the first post of this topic. I have added a guide to configuring MusicBee to match the layout that I show in the screenshot, which is pretty close to iTunes. From your post, it looks like you need to turn off the column browser, hide the left sidebar and turn on the thumbnail browser. This can get confusing and is now all covered in my first post.

I've just registered to thank you for your work,  I just switched from iTunes to musicBee due your skin, it is just amazing (but I already modded it to display  righ side bar).

While using it, I had two ideas, but I am not sure if they are skin related, but here goes:

1. The panel where show the albuns move with the music, showing the current track that is playing as selected in the "albuns" viewer.

2. A Button to auto play all tracks in shuffle mode.

The 2 I know I would love it, regularly after listeing to a album I like do put on the shuffle, but then I have to click the shuffle icon + double click the all. I figured that maybe a button that auto does this when clicked would be nice.

Anyway, thank you once more fore your work!

You can create a toolbar button for 2. Go to Preferences>Layout (1) and under Main Panel click Edit by Toolbar Buttons. Specify the action as Playback: Play Library Shuffled and choose your own icon.

That's the Albums and Tracks view.
Right-click on any column header in the main panel and select Customize Panel Settings.  Then in the Fields Displayed section, add the fields you wish to show.

in all likelyhood its something i would need to address in MB. What font are you using in the player control panel and what is your screen DPI resolution?
its probably set to 125% in the windows control panel but perhaps its higher than that?

if you enable spectrum visualisations there is an overlap. The love button is also quite tight

(http://getmusicbee.com/images/forum/BeeTunes%20Issues.jpg)

its probably related to these settings:
   <replacementElement id="Spectrum" replaceWith="TrackInfoPanel.Left" offsetAdjustment="0" />
   <replacementElement id="TrackLove" replaceWith="TrackRating.Left" offsetAdjustment="-21" />
   <replacementElement id="TrackRating" replaceWith="TrackInfoPanel.Right" offsetAdjustment="-15" />
Title: Re: beeTunes Skin
Post by: cartman005 on April 10, 2016, 12:34:50 PM
I changed the order of TrackLove and TrackRating. That seems to work better when one or the other is hidden. I cannot get the track position to move to the right of the spectrum visualiser so I moved the spectrum to the right of the position instead. However, when I do this, the shuffle button no longer obeys the setting to be offset by 5 from the right of the spectrum.

Hi, can you go to View > Skins and make sure the Skin Window Borders option is selected? That should solve the issue with the coloring of the top. For the coloring of the tab background, that is how the skin is designed so it would need to be modified to make it blue.
