Title: Spotify vs. Amazon Music Unlimited for lyrics??
Post by: Música on July 05, 2022, 02:24:00 PM
I'm probably moving to Amazon in a couple of days, after several years with Spotify. I've already IDd a favorite album not on Amazon; but, for those with experience with both, which is, or seems to be, better with lyrics, please --better in just having lyrics available for more songs? Thanks.

I haven't had time to buy an Amazon subscription yet, so I support Spotify more. Spotify has a very convenient subscription for students.

I work as a promotion manager, and I have experience with YT music, Amazon and Spotify. IMO Spotify is better for working with lyrics. I’m currently promoting 5 artists, and we’ve chosen to start by promoting on Spotify first. It’s the perfect service to start a career because its algorithms can give a great boost to new artists. Besides, you can buy some plays on https://streamingfamous.com/buy-spotify-plays/ (https://streamingfamous.com/buy-spotify-plays/) to boost your songs (I’m not sure if this is available for YT and Amazon). So, I recommend staying on Spotify. Btw, what did you choose eventually?

I chose Amazon Music Unlimited. I'd been with Spotify most of the time since Microsoft closed down its Zune/successors service. I chose Amazon for three reasons: Spotify political/business choices (Bing for "Spotify controversy") I'm one of millions (?) who've opted out; cost savings -mostly explained by the lower cost of Amazon Music as a prime member, -so that I am leveraging my Prime membership investment, plus that Spotify has never offered an annual subscription cost savings; and finally, the improved Amazon service which no longer charges extra for high-res streams and has seriously improved and increased its hi-res offerings since I started exploring Amazon seriously last year. Spotify algorithms are/may still be superior on multiple counts, but, remarkably, it still does not offer hi-res streams, and eventually/soon, I probably would have changed for this reason alone.

One important factor that had kept me with Spotify was a desktop Spotify Connect device: I miss that option, but it's the only thing I truly miss.
