Is it possible to add TIFF images as artworks?

Why not try if that works?

But considering the generally large file size of tiffs, its original purpose and complexities (which don't serve any purpose for a music player at all), and the limits that several audio formats have considering the inclusion of metadata, I would not be surprised if it doesn't.
It smells like looking for trouble to me.

It's just that iTunes lets me add TIFF artworks.

But forget it, because it looks likes that it converts them to PNG before embedding the pictures to the tracks, so... no TIFF after all. Fine with JPG or PNG.
